Today was the day for the wedding of Tai and Caroline. All their friends and family were invited to celebrate the ceremony. Friends from near and far came to visit.

"You look dashing, Tai"

Kari said behind Tai who was facing the mirror fixing up his tux.

"Thanks Kari. Is Sora here? I didn't see her."

"Me neither, but I don't know if she will make it on time"

"I hope so, she's my best friend, she should be here"

"Don't worry, just focus on the wedding, this is your day"

"You're right"

Tai said with a smile.

*Wedding Church*

Sora had finally arrived at the church, completely out of breath. She was afraid that she might have been too late. With as much courage as she could summon, she went up to the doors and went inside.

"Do you, Caroline Jones, take Tai Kamiya for your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do."

"Do you, Tai Kamiya, take Caroline Jones for your lawfully wedded wife?"

Just as Tai was about to answer, suddenly the door to the church flew open.

"Well, do you?"

Everyone turned around to see who had said that. The voice belonged to Sora, standing in the open doorway.

"Sora, I'm glad you made it but what are you doing here?"

TK asked her.

"I'm here to change my future, TK."

"Have you completely lost it, Sora?"

Caroline said angrily. She was convinced that Sora was NOT going to ruin this for her.

"You can't just barge in here."

"I'm sorry, Caroline, but I can't let you marry him."

Sora replied calmly.

"I love him."

Everyone whispered except for Mimi who knew of the situation.

"Took you long enough."

Mimi said under her breath.

"Sora, what are you talking about?"

Tai said, confused over his friend's actions.

"Tai, I've known you almost my whole life. You and I have always been there for each other. From the day that we met at soccer camp to the day we first went to the Digital World, I've had feelings like I've never felt for anyone else before. I've kept these feelings inside for a long time."

As Sora spoke, she moved closer and closer to the altar. Tai just stood there with a surprised look on his face, getting somewhat nervous.

"Tai, I care about you deeply. I think about you more than I ever thought about anyone before. Whenever I saw you over these past few years, it hurt me like you could never imagine. I couldn't eat or sleep at night. Whenever I did sleep, you were always there in my dreams. I was afraid that I was going to lose you forever so many times like the time when we were at Datamon's pyramid you saved me or when I got mad at you for that hair clip you got for me on my birthday. Tai, I wanted to tell you this all these years but I just couldn't."

Sora finally stood face to face with Tai, gently taking his hand in her own as her confidence returned to her. There was no backing down now.

"I asked you to follow your heart once before. I'm asking you to do it now. Do you, Tai Kamiya take Sora Takenouchi as your wife?"

The crowd began to whisper amongst each, curious at what Tai's response.

"What do you think he's going to say?"

TK asked Kari.

"I'm not sure. This was totally out of nowhere. I hope Tai makes the right choice."

"This is a most unusual situation but not unexpected, I guess."

Izzy said to Mimi.

"Yeah. It is pretty romantic, almost like an American soap opera. I almost want to cry."

"I hope Tai knows what he's doing."

Davis said to Kari.

"If I know my brother, he does."

"My grandfather said that fate often unites those who are meant to be."

Cody thought.

"Maybe this is an example."

Tai looked at Sora with tears threatening to fall. Here was his best friend, standing before everyone to declare feelings she had hidden for all of this time. After so long, it has all come down to this. He thought about all of the times that Sora had been there for him, protected him, cherished him, and nearly died for him. Tai really had no idea that she felt this way after all of this time. Yet, his heart still reached out to her in spite of him self. He was the one who her heart longed for and ached for. She ached for him whenever he was in anguish. She didn't have to think about it. Her decision was one that she already made years before, even if she had denied it until now but he still feelings for Caroline.

"I'm sorry, Sora."

Tai replied in a soft voice.

"I don't"

With that, Sora remain in place stunned, Tai sadly turned away from Sora and looked to Caroline who was frowning at him.

"Caroline, I'm sorry but I can't do this. I mean you're still cheating on me..."

"Cheating, you think I'm still cheating"

Caroline said cutting Tai off.

"I have done nothing but been faithful to you"

"How would I know that?"

"That's when trust comes into the relationship, after all these years together you still don't trust me"

"Caroline, I'm so sorry. As for you Sora, you're making me confuse to what I want"

"Just follow your heart"

"I can't, I don't even know what my heart is saying anymore"

Tai stepped down away from the alter and turn back to Caroline who called out his name.

"Tai... what about us?"

Caroline said.

"I'm supposed to be your fiancée, and I was almost your wife. You're just going to ditch me like that for her?"

"I'm sorry, Caroline. We just weren't meant to be."

Caroline saw the look in his eyes and she finally understood. Despite all of the advancements that she made to him, Tai's heart still had doubts. This was a battle that she was never meant to win. She then turned to Tai with a cold look in her eyes. Without a single word, Caroline brushed past them and sulked out of the building bitterly.

"Fine"

She said lightly walking away as her bride maids quickly followed her.
