Chapter 80

“Long time no see, Seokjin.”

Fate has a twisted way of reuniting some souls. Some people meet again, even though they don't want to. That's when they realize they've unfinished business with each other.

Seokjin couldn’t remember how he controlled himself at that precise moment. His clenched fists, his clear eyes that reflected their toxic past, his trembling heart at the sight of her presence. He couldn’t had stayed normal if not Yoon Min had placed a supporting hand on his shoulder, knowing and feeling him all too well. She too didn’t expect she would be meeting her again, this time she had a little guess things would go south between them.

Because she married her ex-boyfriend.

“Jisoo-ssi! It's so unexpected to see you here?” Director Yeon questioned after standing up.

The actress didn’t reply immediately. She took her time by spreading her beauty in each corner of the office and walked towards them, her heels clicking piercingly on the floor. She flopped down on the couch between the producer and the director. She slowly took her sunglasses off and folded them nicely in her hands before displaying her famous heart-pumping smile, red lips glistening.

Seokjin couldn’t help but admire the fact she hadn’t changed at all since the last time they saw each other. She had grown more attractive and stunning, her hair was a bit shorter than before. But her eyes were the same. Envious eyes full of hatred and grudge. He gulped down nervously.

Finally, she replied with her white smile, “Oh Mr. Yeon, I just wanted to take a look at my next filming spot. Since I already am familiar with this place.”

Yoon Min could recognize the sassiness and the mocking behind her words. She hadn't changed now, did she?

The director sat beside her again and awkwardly said with an exclaim, “Ah right, you two used to date a while back, didn’t you? I completely forgot.”

His unintentional words set her heart on shattering glass.

“You're right. I also forgot Jisoo and CEO Kim were the power couple of our country a few years ago. I myself liked them, I think.” Producer Lee also had to comment.

Seokjin saw Jisoo's eyes shifting directly at him slowly, a slient teasing smile charming her red lips. He knew she wasn’t going to leave him alone when he saw that look of hers. And he was mostly scared than angry.

Power Couple...I liked the sound of that. We indeed looked perfect, didn’t we, Seokjin?” She chuckled lowly that gave shivers through his spines. “Until someone had to step in.”

After muttering the last sentence, she changed her gaze towards Yoon Min who was taken aback and shivered under her stare. Her eyes spit fire and loathe at her, and she didn’t like it. Her cold stare let her know she won't be having a good time with her.

The producer and the director getting the hint finally, laughed out loud in order to cover their serious love-triangle relationship. They fortunately changed the topic,

“Now that our Jisoo is here, we can talk about the last important detail. Since it's her first time playing as a secretary in an office-romance movie, we need to help and provide her as much as we can. She informed us she doesn’t have experience in acting as a secretary so we were looking for someone who can give her a few heads-up and teach her from her experience.”

Seokjin knew where this was going.

“Secretary Song seems to be the perfect person for this job. She can show Jisoo some valuable tips and help her out when she needs. That way, she can have the opportunity to spend a quality time with a popular actress.” Director Yeon informed.

Spending time with Jisoo was the last thing Yoon Min wanted now. Before she could open her mouth and politely refuse the proposal, Jisoo chuckled lightly and glanced at her,

“Aww I'll be honored to be guided by someone I know. I want her to teach me, Mr. Yeon and Mr. Lee.”

“Great!” Producer Lee announced without hearing out her opinion. “So it's decided. Secretary Song can help her out when she needs and that way, she can spend some time with our Jisoo. We can trust you, right?”

Being asked an uncomfortable question, Yoon Min had no choice but reply positively. She had no say on this matter and she was being pulled into this against her will. She didn’t want to do this, not with Jisoo. Not again.

“Don't worry, Producer Lee. You can trust my wife.” Seokjin was like the hero of her. He stood up from his seat and stood next to her as a gesture of faith and support. “She's very experienced and I'm sure she'll be able to help you out in whatever you need.”

Jisoo felt a storm whirling inside her chest upon hearing how he called her his wife. She couldn’t bear it.

Thus reaching a conclusion, both the director and the producer were glad how their meeting turned out good. They could hope this was going to be a hit movie. But on the other hand, Seokjin and Yoon Min had no idea how they got tangled into Jisoo's mess again. And both of them could imagine working with her won't be a good idea at all.

After they left the office, Seokjin was the first one to yell,

“Jisoo?! Seriously?!”

Yoon Min sighed and didn't know what she should say about her.

“I'm telling you this got to be some sort of conspiracy against me. Why do I feel this is all part of her plan? She wants revenge, I tell you. God, this is so messed up. Should I talk to the chairman to cancel this project? No, he wouldn’t listen to me. Should we take a leave for a month? We won't have to see her then! Wait, we would lose our jobs then.”

She had to smile a little in amusement to see how unnecessarily he was panicking. Sometime he tends to overthink over simple matters.

As he was blabbering nonsensical words facing the wide glass window, she walked to his side and stood there.

“Calm down, Jin. The casting team just happened to have Ms. Kim as the main lead. Nothing else. And maybe we're overthinking. I'm assuming she won't be interested in u-us.”

“You don't know her like I do. I've this...gut feeling she's gonna cause trouble soon.” He spoke confidently.

She hardly believed him although a part of her also feared her behaviour. She gently placed a hand over his back to relieve him. Think positive, she told herself. It's not like Jisoo would meddle into her life, right?”

---------------

Well...

Yoon Min couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Jisoo entering the cafeteria. All employees gasped and murmured many opinions to each other, pausing their eating and stared at her gorgeous self.

It was the first day the filming crew started working in their company. Everything was fine and normal since morning. It was during their lunch time. Yoon Min usually didn’t eat at their cafeteria because she would go out with Seokjin and eat. But he was busy working today so she decided to have lunch here.

But what brought Jisoo here? At least, she couldn’t come here just for lunch, right?

She walked inside and her eyes scanned for a specific person. When they landed on her, there was a faint smirk on her red lips before she made her way towards her table. Her makeup assistant and her manager followed her from behind, repeatedly forbidding her but she paid no heed. Once she stopped in front of a frozen Yoon Min, she pulled the chair and sat across her typically.

The remaining employees and staff members' mouth fell open as their upsetting gossips raised shamelessly.

“I'll have what she's having.” Jisoo said and her manager left to bring her food. He brought her platter and placed it in front of her. “Give me some privacy.”

“Jisoo--”

“Now.” Her voice was cold and rude.

The manager sighed heavily as if he didn’t want her to eat here. More specifically, to sit with the other female. But having no choice, he walked away from her with the makeup artist.

“Don't mind me. I'm only here to have lunch.” She showed her a fake, sweet smile and engaged herself in eating. But Yoon Min definitely knew she wasn’t here just to have lunch. She was silent and still the whole time, trying to judge her. Her heart raced against her chest in anxiety. What did she want from her?

“So, how's marriage with Seokjin?”

Yoon Min stopped chewing and shifted her gaze at Jisoo. Of course, she was here for this.

With a clear in the throat, she replied, wiping her lips with a tissue, “Perfect.” She didn’t know if she used the correct word.

“Perfect, huh?” Jisoo repeated her answer in a mocking tone. “Like a boring happy ending?”

She didn’t answer that. She wanted Jisoo to know she wasn’t the innocent, obedient secretary she knew. At least, not to her. She didn’t want to act weak in front of her.

“What about sex?”

Yoon Min really thought she would choke but thankfully, she didn’t. She was as silent and sullen as before, successfully stayed unaffected by her powerful attack. Jisoo looked at her finally and smirked.

She looked down, being uncomfortable at the question. “No, we haven’t. We tried o-once but...that didn’t end well.” She had no idea why she answering the actress at the first place.

Jisoo found it very interesting as she exclaimed dramatically, “Seriously? You're telling me you guys love each other but didn’t have sex in all these years?!”

Was it that awkward?

Yoon Min no matter how could never win against Jisoo in conversation or anything. She was always one step ahead and better. Right now, it seemed like she knew how to attack her weak point and make her speechless.

“How is he enduring you? He used to be hard whenever he was with me.” Jisoo chuckled lowly before eating.

She was embarrassed for the first time in a topic like this. Was the actress wrong? No. She herself never thought about doing it with him in their marriage life. He seemed perfectly okay without that so she never showed interest either. But Jisoo's mocking words triggered a caution in her mind.

She thought she was taking good care of Seokjin. But was she actually?

“Get to know your husband more, Secretary Song. It won't do any good to your perfect marriage if you don't have stuff like that with him.”

Jisoo smirked, that too very proudly before standing up and left the canteen; leaving the other speechless.
