its been two months since he's gotten tutored by wooseok. he didn't even need to get tutored by wooseok, but that just meant more time to talk to the brunette. his detention was over a week ago, yet he still found himself sitting in the library with wooseok.

there was nothing wrong with wanting attention from a person was it?

"what're you looking at?" jinhyuk glared at wooseok whose attention was all on his phone. surprisingly, the boy wasn't reading the book he'd been so immersed in the past week.

"nothingg" wooseok smiled, scrolling onto the surface of his phone even more. jinhyuk clicked his tongue. stupid wooseok.

he didn't think all the attention would go onto his phone. wooseok didn't even spare a glance at him. just what was the boy looking at?

"not like i care" jinhyuk mumbled, even though he did care. he felt agitated and the need to break wooseok's phone into two, even though he knew he wouldn't do such a thing.

"do you really want to know?" wooseok asked, finally looking up at him with a big smile, "i don't think you'll like it though"

wooseok put his phone in front of jinhyuk's face. on the screen was a picture of an awfully familiar guy that the vampire recognized as seungyoun. seungwoo had talked about him quite a few times and showed him pictures of him too. that was the only reason he knew of the guy in the first place.

"cho seungyoun" jinhyuk whispered, looking at the pictures and then at wooseok, "why are you looking at pictures of him modeling?"

wooseok's eyes widened, "you know him? he's soo handsome" wooseok giggled, putting his phone down onto the table, "hangyul introduced me to him!"

jinhyuk rolled his eyes, "right he's handsome. of course i know him" though the words came out of his mouth all bitterly. maybe auditioning for a company seemed like the right idea.

seungyoun was around their age too. girls and guys admired him for how handsome and popular he was at a young age. he gained popularity even before debuting since he was the ceo's son.

he mentally cursed at how he didn't audition with seungwoo. he could've gotten wooseok's attention like that. wait what? he smacked his head with his hands. his brain has been running around and thinking about wooseok all day. he just wanted to model for the fun of it and maybe make some money too.

"hangyul was crushing on him and i thought i'd check him out. he's also an idol too!" wooseok said happily, scrolling through the boy's instagram, "sadly he goes to a different high school than ours"

"do you like him?" jinhyuk asked quietly, catching wooseok's attention. why was he acting so cold and bitter because of this?

"huh?" wooseok's cheeks flushed red, "he's h-handsome but he's not my type" jinhyuk was his type after all and besides, he couldn't possibly get into a relationship with someone famous like that.

somehow jinhyuk felt relieved to hear that. maybe he'd actually reconsider doing the audition with yuvin that was held on friday.

"you're what?!" seungwoo's eyes widened, almost spitting out the blood that was in his mouth, "i thought you said you weren't going to do it"

jinhyuk ruffled his hair, "i said i'd think about it and besides, yuvin is doing it with me"

"i am?" yuvin asked, swallowing down the blood that filled his mouth, "i want to try out for a vocal position"

jinhyuk's jaw dropped, "didn't you say you wanted to be a model?" he couldn't do it alone. he was scared. yes, he did get scared.

"w-well yohan said my voice is nice and all" yuvin looked away with reddish cheeks while jinhyuk rubbed the crown of his forehead. of course yuvin just had to be whipped for the boy.

"so i'm doing it alone aren't i?" jinhyuk mumbled, stroking his hair with his fingers, "you traitors"

"hey i asked you if you wanted to audition for yuehua with me" seungwoo rolled his eyes, closing his blood pack as he laid down onto jinhyuk's bed, "and yuvin is auditioning for the same company as you. why didn't you guys audition with me so we can be in the same company?"

"because top media is the second best to yuehua" jinhyuk replied, stretching his arms as he laid his head down onto his pillow, "and besides their audition is over anyways"

seungwoo giggled, "alright. lets pray that you do get in"

seungwoo had passed the first two rounds of the audition and got accepted after the second round. although yuehua had a low acceptance rate, seungwoo was surprised he got into the company. he even got to meet seungyoun in person.

"wait jinhyuk" yuvin looked at the vampire, "didn't you get casted by top media? remember the beginning of junior year when we were waiting for seungwoo?"

"i did" jinhyuk mumbled, "but i rejected it"

"you could've gotten it the easy way you idiot" seungwoo chuckled, smacking the vampire's head, "now you're auditioning for it? i'm sure they'll remember you"

"i don't really care if they do" jinhyuk replied, closing his eyes and smacking seungwoo's hand away, "looks aren't everything to an idol"

when his brain told him he was doing this for wooseok, it sounded quite foolish. he wanted to do this because he wanted to become a better person. he wanted to build his confidence again. he didn't want his past to get the better of him. maybe he'd learn something new along the way too. maybe even impress wooseok the very least.

even though exams were coming up next month, he focused on the audition first. he didn't expect this many people to arrive at the audition when he got there. he looked at his outfit and hoped that it was fashionable enough to catch the attention of the judges.

seungwoo had dressed him up a few days before and evaluated his poses before he headed off to the audition. yuvin, who was beside him, looked around and felt nervous as well.

"the vocal auditions are that way" jinhyuk pointed, glancing at the vampire beside him, "you'll do fine"

"are you complimenting me?" yuvin chuckled, holding onto the forms tightly, "thanks. you'll do fine as well"

"shut up" jinhyuk tried to keep a cold face on but a smile appeared instead, "just do your best"

they headed their separate ways and met up at the end. jinhyuk got through his audition smoothly, hardly making any mistakes. he seemed to have caught the judges' attention with his height and his looks it seems when they were evaluating him. he crossed his fingers, hoping that he'd advance to the next round, which he did. just one step closer to become the real thing.

that's how his modeling career started.
