Eleven ✝️

(Tyler's pov)

I brought Josh into my house. He was really amazed at how it looked, considering how very Catholic our family is. He couldn't stop looking at all the walls.

"Well, this is my house, where I spent my whole life is, adjusting to the Catholic faith. Would you like a tour?"

Josh was distracted, but he still heard.

"Um, sure."

I smiled.

"Okay!"

I took him through the hallway and showed our home altar, which was up against the corner when making our way into the living room.

"Wow." Josh said. "I love your home altar."

"Yeah." I replied. "It's not much, but we're really proud of it."

"I like it a lot."

Next, I took him into the living room, where I showed him our pictures of the stations of the cross, which was the first thing I learned in Mass when I was little.

When Josh looked at them all, he couldn't help but start to feel remorseful for his actions of being an atheist.

"Yeah, Jesus made the decision which gave us all salvation, and that is what I'm going to help you do."

"You're right." Josh said. "Our Lord is the only way."

"But we must go through purgatory first."

Lastly, I brought him to our small living altar, with a statue of Mother Mary and our holy water font on the wall.

When I realized we still had some holy water left over, I decided to put it to good use.

"Hey Josh, come stand in front of me."

He came and stood in front of where I was.

"What Tyler?"

"I want to do something."

"What is it?"

"You'll see."

I dipped my two finger into the holy water and made the sign of the cross on Josh's forehead.

"Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and forever shall be, world without end. Amen."

Josh was confused.

"What did you just do to me?"

"I blessed you."

"Why do I need to be blessed?"

"You'll learn Josh, you'll learn."

Suddenly, my mother walked in.

"Tyler? What are you doing? I thought you left to go get your friend."

"I was, but he showed up before I even left."

My mother smiled upon Josh.

"Well, you must be the boy Tyler told me about. I'm his mother, Kelly Joseph."

She shook his hand.

"It's such a blessing to have you in my home. I hope you learn a lot from my son."

"I hope to learn a lot from him too Mrs. Joseph."

"Does your family go to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church?"

"Yes ma'am. Josh replied. "We've been going there since the beginning."

"So have we." My mother told him. "We try to go to Mass every week."

"Yeah, same."

"Mother, may I go ahead and take him up to my room?" I asked.

"Of course Tyler. Just make sure you teach him everything he needs to know."

"Yes mother."
