Tauros Trade & Safari Zone Revisit

A half month had passed & Ash had decided to trade his 29 Tauros & revisit the Safari Zone. He learned from Professor Oak that there was a Trade Convention in Viridian City. While Ash was passing through Route 1 with Pikachu & Meowth on his shoulders

"Route 1 sure brings back memories, right Pikachu?" Ash said

"Pika." Pikachu said

"What are you talking about, Ash?" Meowth asked

"Well, this is where I first met Fearow when he was a Spearow." Ash explained "Not only that, Route 1 is where Pikachu & I had a rough start."

"A rough start? How rough was it?" Meowth said

"Pikachu & I didn't get along very well, he kept shocking me with his Electric attacks & was disobedient towards me." Ash said

"Wow, I guess that's pretty bad." Meowth said

"It was, just then we were attacked by Spearow & his flock & that river over there is where we lost them." Ash said as he pointed at the river "I'll show where we first met Misty."

When Ash got to the place where he met Misty

"This was where you met her?" Meowth said

"Yeah, the Spearow flock eventually found us, so I took her bike to flee from them." Ash said

"I bet she wasn't happy about that." Meowth said

"No, she wasn't." Ash said as he looked up in the sky & saw dark clouds "Looks like it's about to rain, we should look for shelter."

They had found a spot to stay dry under a tree & watched the rain pour down,

"Hey Ash, did you & Pikachu manage to escape the Spearow flock?" Meowth said

"We did, when the Spearow were about to attack me, Pikachu came to the rescue & defeated them with a powerful electric attack." Ash explained "When the rain stopped, we saw a rainbow & a Pokémon that my old Pokédex didn't have data on."

"Whoa, what an amazing story." Meowth said

"Y'know, being under a tree with you guys reminds me of something from my past." Ash said. "When I was a little kid, I took shelter under a tree when it was raining. Just then I noticed a Caterpie, a Weedle, an Oddish, a Rattata, & a Butterfree out in the rain, so I offered them shelter under the tree with me."

"Hm, you surely have a pure heart, I'll give you that." Meowth admitted

"Yeah, sometimes I wonder how they're doing." Ash said

Several minutes later, the rain stopped.

"The skies are clear as crystal, you two." Ash said

"Thank goodness." Meowth said in relief

"Pikachu." Pikachu agreed

"Shaoooh!" A voice screeched

Ash turned & saw the Pokémon he saw when he started his journey as a Pokémon Trainer flying by them

"There it is! That's the Pokémon I saw!" Ash exclaimed

"Quick, use your new Pokédex." Meowth said

"Right." Ash said as he pulled out his new Pokédex

Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokémon, Ho-Oh's feathers glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light. These feathers are said to bring happiness to the bearers. This Pokémon is said to live at the foot of a rainbow.

"So, that's a Ho-Oh." Ash said

"Pikachu." Pikachu said as he pointed upwards

Ash looked & saw a rainbow-colored feather floating down towards him.

"Oh..." Ash said in awe as he caught the feather

"That must be the feather the Pokédex was talking about." Meowth said

"Thanks, Ho-Oh." Ash smiled as he looked up at Ho-Oh which was flying over a rainbow "Let's get going, you two."

When they arrived at Viridian City, they entered the Pokémon Center & saw Nurse Joy & Officer Jenny talking to each other

"Hey Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny." Ash said

"Hello there, Ash." Jenny smiled

"So nice of you to come by & visit." Joy said "How are you today?"

"I'm doing great, I'm staying in Pallet Town to train for next year's Indigo Plateau Conference." Ash said

"That's great to hear." Jenny said before noticing Meowth "Ash, is this Meowth who I think it is."

"Yes, but let me explain." Ash said "Meowth along with Jessie & James had quit working for Team Rocket a year ago."

"They have? Then where are the other two?" Jenny asked

"They're currently staying at my house." Ash said "But don't worry, they haven't been causing any trouble or anything."

"Okay, I guess I can take your word for it." Jenny said as looked at Meowth "But I believe I'm going to have to ask you a couple of questions, Meowth."

"Yes ma'am." Meowth said as he was quite nervous

"Okay, first thing's first, will you tell me where Team Rocket's hideout's location is?" Jenny asked

"Are you crazy, lady?" Meowth said "I can't tell you where their headquarters' at."

"Why not?" Jenny said confusingly

"If I tell you where it is, I'll be dead." Meowth said

"Dead? As in assassinated?" Jenny asked

"Yeah, you don't know what the boss of Team Rocket's capable of." Meowth said "The boss ain't the type to be taken lightly. Once you cross him, you're done for."

"Does he know that you quit the organization?" Jenny asked

"No, but I don't think he would waste his time with us." Meowth said

"How come?" Jenny said

"Well, out of all the grunts in Team Rocket, Jessie, James, & I are the lowest rank & nothing worthwhile." Meowth said

"Okay Meowth, thank you for your cooperation." Jenny said

"Wish I could've told you more, but I can't risk it." Meowth said

"I understand." Jenny said

"Anyway, I'm here to trade my 29 Tauros at the Trading Convention, think you two can help me out?" Ash said

"Sure Ash, we'll help you out." Joy said

Jenny took Ash to a room where the Trading Convention was & Joy announced that Ash had 29 Tauros to trade. A minute later, Ash was approached by 8 trainers, the trainers pulled out a Premier Ball, a Fast Ball, a Level Ball, a Moon Ball, a Dream Ball, a Friend Ball, a Great Ball, & a Love Ball. Out came an Eevee from the Premier Ball, a Jolteon from the Fast Ball, a Flareon from the Level Ball, a a black cat/fox-like Pokémon with crimson eyes & blue rings on the ends of its ears & tail & on each side of its four legs from the Moon Ball, a pink cat-like Pokémon with a red gem on its forehead from the Dream Ball, a tan mammalian-like Pokémon with green leaf-like ears & tail, & a green sprout on their head from the Friend Ball, a light & dark blue mammalian-like Pokémon with a teal crest with two dangling flaps adorning its head from the Great Ball, & a mammalian-like Pokémon with pale cream-colored fur, pink feet, ears, & tail, light blue eyes, pale cream & pink bows on its left ear & neck, & ribbon-like feelers from the Love Ball.

"Wow, who are those Pokémon?" Ash said surprisingly

"That's the rest of Eevee's evolved forms." Jenny said as Ash pulled out his Pokédex

Espeon, The Sun Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee. Although it originally had no powers at all, people say its precognitive faculties were awakened by its need to protect itself. Psychic power builds up in the orb on its forehead as it bathes in the sunshine.

Umbreon, The Moonlight Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee. Umbreon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's waves. It hides silently in darkness & waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack.

Leafeon, The Verdant Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee. Its cellular composition is closer to that of a plant than an animal. It uses photosynthesis to produce its energy supply without eating food.

Glaceon, The Fresh Snow Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee. It can control its body temperature at will. This enables it to freeze the moisture in the atmosphere, creating flurries of diamond dust.

Sylveon, The Intertwining Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee. Sylveon wraps its ribbon-like feelers around its Trainer's arm because this touch enables it to read its Trainer's feelings. Once a fight breaks out, it will unflinchingly charge at dragon Pokémon that are many times larger than itself.

"& here I thought Vaporeon, Jolteon, & Flareon were the only Eeveelutions." Meowth said

Ash noticed something different about the Eevee.

"Hey, check out the color of that Eevee." Ash said as the Eevee was pale grey

"You just received a stroke of luck, Ash." Jenny said

"How's that?" Ash asked

"That Eevee happens to be a Shiny Eevee." Jenny said

"Shiny?" Ash repeated

"Pokémon who have a shiny color are one of the most rare of its species in the world of Pokémon." Jenny explained

"Wow." Ash said

Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokémon, & the pre-evolved form of Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan. Tyrogue becomes stressed out if it does not get to train every day. When raising this Pokémon, the Trainer must establish and uphold various training methods.

"So that's what Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan evolve from." Ash said as he scanned the other Pokémon

Hitmontop, the Handstand Pokémon, & the evolved form of Tyrogue. Hitmontop spins on its head at high speed, all the while delivering kicks. This technique is a remarkable mix of both offense and defense at the same time. The Pokémon travels faster spinning than it does walking.

"I have some Porygon I've planned to trade." Dr. Akihabara said "I heard that you are trading your Tauros, am I correct?"

"Yes, I am." Ash said "Are you giving me one of your Porygon?"

"Not exactly, allow me to show you." Dr. Akihabara said as he pulled out a Poké Ball & sent out a rounded Porygon-like Pokémon

"Who's that Pokémon?" Ash said as he scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex

Porygon2, the Virtual Pokémon, & the evolved form of Porygon. Porygon2 was created by humans using the power of science. The man-made Pokémon has been endowed with artificial intelligence that enables it to learn new gestures and emotions on its own.

"The evolved form of Porygon." Ash said amazingly "I'll take it."

Wobbuffet, the Patient Pokémon. If two or more Wobbuffet meet, they will turn competitive & try to outdo each other's endurance. However, they may try to see which one can endure the longest without food. Trainers need to beware of this habit.

Out from the Heavy Ball came a large snake-like Pokémon made of steel, out from the Love Ball came a Togepi-like Pokémon with wings, out from the Dusk Ball came a purple bat-like Pokémon with four wings, out from the Lure Ball came out a green & yellow frog-like Pokémon with a swirl in the center of its stomach, & out from the Sport Ball came a red metallic insectoid-like Pokémon. Ash scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex

Steelix, the Iron Snake Pokémon, & the evolved form of Onix. It is said that if an Onix lives for over 100 years, its composition changes to become diamond-like. It is thought its body transformed as a result of iron accumulating internally from swallowing soil.

"Brock would definitely can't wait until his Onix evolves when he sees this Pokémon." Ash said as he scanned the next Pokémon

Togetic, the Happiness Pokémon, & the evolved form of Togepi. They say that it will appear before kindhearted, caring people and shower them with happiness. Togetic grows dispirited if it is not with kind people. It can float in midair without moving its wings.

"So, that's what Misty's Togepi will evolve into." Ash said as he scanned the next Pokémon

Crobat, the Bat Pokémon, & the evolved form of Golbat. Crobat sneaks up on its intended prey using wings that barely make a sound. This Pokémon rests by hanging on a tree branch with its rear legs that serve as wings.

Politoed, the Frog Pokémon, & the evolved form of Poliwhirl. At nightfall, these Pokémon appear on the shores of lakes. They announce their territorial claims by letting out cries that sound like shouting.

Scizor, the Pincer Pokémon, & the evolved form of Scyther. Bulky pincers account for one third of Scizor's body weight. A single swing of one of these pincers will crush a boulder completely.

"I guess there are some Pokémon from the Kanto Region who have evolved forms, pre-evolved forms, & have more than one evolved form." Ash said

"That's right." Meowth said

"Pikachu." Pikachu agreed

From the Great Ball came out a Shiny small humanoid Pokémon with a white body, from the Ultra Ball came out a Shiny short bipedal-like Pokémon with a pale yellow body & a pair of large jaws at the back of its head, & from the Net Ball came out a gray & black butterfly-like Pokémon with blue eyes & wings with yellow, red, & blue markings.

Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon, Ralts has the ability to sense the emotions of people. If its Trainer is in a cheerful mood, this Pokémon grows cheerful and joyous in the same way.

Mawile, the Deceiver Pokémon, Mawile's huge jaws are actually steel horns that have been transformed. Its docile-looking face serves to lull its foe into letting down its guard. When the foe least expects it, Mawile chomps it with its gaping jaws.

Beautifly, the Butterfly Pokémon, Beautifly has a long mouth like a coiled needle, which is very convenient for collecting pollen from flowers. This Pokémon rides the spring winds as it flits around gathering pollen.

Poncho sent out a Diglett, but it wasn't a normal Diglett, this Diglett had 3 gold hairs on its heads.

"Wow, look at that Diglett, what kind is it?" Ash said interestingly

"A little bit after your departure, I found three of these in the outskirts of the city." Poncho said "I knew that they weren't ordinary Diglett, so I caught them & called Professor Ivy about them. After I sent one of them to her, so she could study & do research on it, she discovered that the Diglett were Alolan Diglett a couple of days later."

"Alolan Diglett?" Ash said

"Yes, from what Professor Ivy told me, some Pokémon have regional forms depending on which Region they are from." Poncho explained "The Alolan Diglett happens to be from the Alola Region."

"The Alola Region? How did they get to the Orange Islands all the way from the Alola Region?" Ash said

"I don't know, but there are two possibilities." Poncho said "They could've migrated or some bird Pokémon swooped them up & dropped them at the Orange Islands."

The trainers sent out a Vulpix from a Heal Ball, a Sandshrew from a Great Ball, a Marowak from a Repeat Ball, an Exeggutor from a Premier Ball, a Grimer from an Ultra Ball, & a Meowth from a Luxury Ball. Like Diglett, they were also Alolan Form. Ash was amazed by how they looked & scanned them with his Pokédex

Vulpix, the Fox Pokémon, Alolan Form. It looks like snow come to life, & the breath it exhales is –58 degrees Fahrenheit. Another name for it is Keokeo.

Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon, Alolan Form. Its ice-covered body lets it slide across the ground with bullet-like speed, sending its enemies flying when it hits them.

Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, Alolan Form. Highly intelligent and prideful, it's famously difficult to handle, but that's also a reason for its popularity.

Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon, Alolan Form. It has a passion for trash above all else, speedily digesting it & creating brilliant crystals of sparkling poison.

Marowak, the Bone Keeper Pokémon, Alolan Form, & the evolved form of Cubone. It has transformed the spirit of its dear departed mother into flames, and tonight it will once again dance in mourning of others of its kind.

Exeggutor, the Coconut Pokémon, Alolan Form, & the evolved form of Exeggcute. The strong sunlight of the Alola region has awakened the power hidden within Exeggcute. This is the result.

When Ash arrived at the Safari Zone, after returning Pidgeot to his Poké Ball, he entered the warden's office

"Hey Kaiser." Ash said

"Hm? Oh Ash, didn't expect you to come here again." Kaiser smiled "Congratulations on winning the Orange League."

"Oh, you saw that?" Ash asked

"Yeah, I was amazed that you managed to beat Drake & his Pokémon, especially his Dragonite." Kaiser said before noticing Meowth "You!"

"Kaiser, calm down, he's not with Team Rocket anymore." Ash said

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Kaiser said confusingly

"Let me explain." Ash said

After explain everything to Kaiser

"So they quit Team Rocket, Huh?" Kaiser said

"Yeah, thanks to my Mom." Ash said

"Well, that's good to know." Kaiser said "Anyway, I guess you're here to try to catch new Pokémon for yourself."

"Yeah, that's right." Ash nodded

I hope you're not gonna catch 30 of the same Pokémon, like you did last time." Kaiser said

"Oh no, it'll be different this time." Ash said

"Okay." Kaiser said as he pulled out a basket of Safari Balls & a fishing rod "Here you go, kid."

Ash then noticed something in the basket

"Kaiser, some of these aren't Safari Balls." Ash said

"I know, that's because today is an annual event where trainers get different kinds of Poké Balls as well as Safari Balls to catch Pokemon in the Safari Zone." Kaiser said

"That's great, but how do you know the difference?" Ash said

"I labeled them." Kaiser said as he pulled out a Dive Ball which had the letters SZ on the bottom

Ash entered the Safari Zone & began his search for new Pokémon

"Okay, which Pokémon to catch first." Ash said

"A Kangaskhan, that's a start." Ash said

"Pika." Pikachu said as he hopped off Ash's shoulder

Huntail, the Deep Sea Pokémon, Huntail's tail is shaped like a fish. It uses the tail to attract prey, then swallows the prey whole with its large, gaping mouth. This Pokémon swims by wiggling its slender body like a snake.

Gorebyss, the South Sea Pokémon, Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids.

When Ash got back to Kaiser's office.

"Hey Kaiser, I'm done with the Safari Zone." Ash said

"Okay." Kaiser said

"Kaiser, there were a few Pokémon from other Regions in there, did you know about that?" Ash asked

"Yes, I was aware of that, those Pokémon must've migrated from their home Region to here in the Safari Zone, I find it quite fascinating if you ask me." Kaiser said

"I agree." Ash said "Well, I'm gonna go back home & see if the Pokémon I caught were transported safely to Professor Oak's."

"Okay, before you go, I want you to have this." Kaiser said as he pulled out a Poké Ball & sent out a Dratini

"Tini." Dratini said

"A Dratini? Wait, you're actually giving it to me?" Ash asked

"Yes." Kaiser nodded

"But Kaiser, what about the Dratini rule?" Ash said

"The rule does say that Pokémon Trainers are forbidden from catching Dratini in the Safari Zone, but there is no rule about me giving someone a Dratini." Kaiser said "Listen Ash, the reason I'm giving you this Dratini is because you've earned it, when you saved the Safari Zone from Team Rocket, I could see that you were an honest caring trainer. That's why I've decided to give this Dratini to you."

"Are you sure, Kaiser?" Ash said

"Take it, Ash, it's yours." Kaiser said

Ash flew back to Oak's Lab & landed at the Ranch where he saw Professor Oak, Tracey, Delia, Jessie, James, Brock, & Misty

"Hey Brock, Hey Misty." Ash said

"Hi Ash, we just thought we would drop by & see how you're doing." Misty said

"Where have you been?" Brock asked

"I was at Viridian City trading away 29 of my Tauros, then I went to the Safari Zone & caught some new Pokémon." Ash said

"That's great, can we see?" Misty said

"Sure. Professor, did the Pokémon get here safely?" Ash said

"Yes, they did, let's bring them out, shall we?" Oak said

After Ash sent out the new Pokémon from their Poké Balls, everyone was amazed at all the Pokémon Ash had gotten. Misty loved all the Water Pokémon as well as Togetic & Brock was amazed by Steelix & Crobat as well as the Shiny Pokémon.

"You sure have gotten very lucky, Ash, I'm impressed." Brock said

"So am I, I'm a bit jealous." Misty said

"Thanks, & Professor Oak, do you remember the Pokémon I told you about when I started my journey through Kanto?" Ash asked

"Yes, I remember." Oak said

"Well, I saw it again & I learned from the Pokédex that the Pokémon is called Ho-Oh." Ash said

"Ho-Oh? You mean the great Guardian of the Skies?" Slowking said surprisingly

"Yeah, it dropped this feather when I saw it flying by today." Ash said as he pulled out the rainbow-colored feather as the others became surprised & shocked.

"The Rainbow Wing." Slowking said shockingly

"Rainbow Wing?" Misty repeated

"The Rainbow Wing is known to bring happiness to those who hold it." Slowking said

"How extraordinary." Oak said amazingly

"Ash, I believe there is a reason why you saw the great Guardian of the Skies." Slowking said

"What reason is that?" Ash asked

"Ho-Oh decided to reveal itself to you because it saw your pure heart & was blessing your journey along with giving you the Rainbow Wing which reminds me." Slowking said as he pulled out a silvery feather from his crown

"What's this?" Ash asked

"This is Lugia's feather also known as the Silver Wing, it's a gift from Lugia for saving the world." Slowking said as he gave Ash the Silver Wing.

"Thank you." Ash said

"Ash." A voice said

Everyone looked & widened their eyes in surprise

"It's...you?" Ash said
