"Thanks, you remember me from the last time I competed." Ash said

"I sure do, I saw you at the Orange League on TV, congratulations on winning." The woman said "I also saw that your Charizard was obeying you again."

"Yeah, it took some time, but I managed." Ash said

"Are you ready to start over the Indigo Plateau Conference?" The woman said

"Ready as I'll ever be." Ash said

After Ash registered

"Hey Ash." A voice said

Ash turned & saw Misty & Brock

"Guys, you're here." Ash smiled

"Of course we are." Misty said

"We wouldn't miss this for anything." Brock said

"Well, I'm glad you two are here, I was just about to find out who my opponent is & which field I'll be battling in." Ash said

Ash pressed the button & the screen revealed that he'll be battling in the Ice Field, it also revealed that Ash's opponent is a familiar face

"No way." Ash said surprisingly

"It's Duplica." The gang said

"Yep, that's me." Duplica said as she was behind them with Ditto on her shoulder "Long time no see you guys."

"Ditto." Ditto said

"Hi Duplica, it's good to see you too." Ash said "I can't wait to face you in battle."

"Me neither. Huh?" Duplica said as she noticed Meowth "Hey, you're that Meowth who stole my Ditto."

"Not this again." Meowth groaned

"Duplica, relax, he's with me." Ash said "He's my Pokémon."

"He is, wow, lucky you, it's not everyday you get to own a talking Pokémon." Duplica said

"Yeah, anyway, I think it's obvious that you'll be using Ditto, right?" Ash assumed

"Mm-Hm." Duplica nodded

"What other Pokémon will you be using?" Misty asked

"Ah ah ah, that would be telling, but I will tell you this, you'll be in for a big surprise." Duplica said as she left "Catch ya later on the Ice Field."

"Oh, Ash, there's something you need to know." Brock realized

"What's that?" Ash said

"The Indigo Plateau Conference had a change of rules, the Sleeping Pokémon & recalling Pokémon loss rules have been removed." Brock said

"Really? Is that true?" Ash asked

"He's right, Ash, due to the Sleep Talk attack the Pokémon League removed the sleeping Pokémon loss rule & without the recalling Pokémon loss rule, trainers are allowed to switch out their Pokémon during battle in each round." The woman said

"Awesome, that makes things a whole lot easier." Ash said

"It may be, but remember you still have to choose your Pokémon wisely before each battle." Brock said

"Right." Ash nodded

"Ash, how are you going to beat Duplica's Ditto, you know it's not gonna be easy considering Ditto can transform into any Pokémon you choose to battle." Misty said "Remember when you battled Drake's Ditto?"

"Yeah, I remember, but I have an idea." Ash smiled

At the Ice Field

"Ladies & Gentlemen, welcome to the first round of the Indigo Plateau Conference on the Ice Field. On the red side, we have a competitor who's making a comeback, he's been placed in the Top 16 in the last competition & is one of the newly Orange League Champions, please welcome back, Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town." The announcer said as the crowd cheered "& Introducing hid opponent, a young mistress in disguise along with her Ditto, please welcome Duplica."

Ash & Duplica took their positions on the Ice Field

"Each trainer will use 3 Pokémon each, substitutions are allowed & the battle will end when either side's Pokémon are unable to battle." The referee said "Now, select your Pokémon."

"Go Ditto." Duplica said

"Ditto." Ditto said as it entered the Ice Field

"So, she's starting with Ditto." Misty said

"Yeah, whatever Ash is planning, I hope it'll work." Brock said

"Alright, Dragonair, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out Dragonair

"Nair." Dragonair said

"Dragonair?" Misty said "Why did he choose Dragonair?"

"Wait, I know why, since Ditto was going to transform into any Pokémon Ash sent out, he decided to choose Dragonair. The reason why he chose Dragonair is because once Ditto transforms into Dragonair, Ash will be fighting fire with fire or in this case; fighting dragon with dragon." Brock said

"Oh, I get it, Ash chose Dragonair because Dragon Type Pokémon are weak against Dragon Type Attacks." Misty said

"Exactly, but this kind of strategy is quite risky." Brock said

"Will Dragonair be okay battling on the Ice Field?" Misty said

"I hope so." Brock

"Battle begin!" The referee said

ASH VS DUPLICA

"Alright Ditto, Transform." Duplica said

"Ditto." Ditto said as it glowed white & transformed into Dragonair "Nair."

"Are you ready for this Dragonair?" Ash asked

"Nair." Dragonair said

"Alright, Dragonair, use Dragon Dance." Ash said

"Naaaaaair!" Dragonair cooed as she became surrounded by light blue aura & flies around in circles in the air.

"Ditto, use Dragon Tail." Duplica said. Ditto's tail became surrounded green scale-patterned aura & charged at Dragonair

"Use Iron Tail." Ash said. Dragonair's tail glowed white & clashed with Ditto before she managed to push Ditto back thanks to Dragon Dance

"Now, use Dragon Rage."

Dragonair fired a blast of blue energy from her mouth & hit Ditto.

"Use Twister." Duplica said

"NAAAAAAAIR!" Ditto cooed as it spun around in the air, creating a massive tornado that hit Dragonair & trapped her in it

"Use Dragon Tail while using Dragon Dance." Ash said as Dragonair's tail became surrounded green scale-patterned aura & used Dragon Dance which broke free from the Twister

"Use Dragon Breath." Duplica said

"Nair!" Ditto said as it fired a light blue beam of energy from its mouth & hit Dragonair

"Use Ice Beam." Ash said. Dragonair fired light blue beams of ice from her horn & hit Ditto

"Thunder Wave." Duplica said as Ditto released rings of yellow electricity from its horn

"Use Safeguard." Ash said

"Nair." Dragonair said as she summoned a white force field which protected

"Now, Use Dragon Breath." Ash said as Dragonair fired Dragon Breath

"Dodge it & use Dragon Dance." Duplica said as Ditto dodged the attack & used Dragon Dance "Now, Extreme Speed."

Ditto became surrounded by green aura & tackled Dragonair at fast speed

"Use Ice Beam." Ash said as Dragonair fired Ice Beam

"Flamethrower." Duplica said as Ditto shot fire from its mouth which collided with Ice Beam

"Use Iron Tail." Duplica said as Ditto charged at Dragonair with Iron Tail

"Use Slam." Ash said. Dragonair grabbed the end of Ditto's tail with hers & slammed Ditto on the ground

"Ditto." Duplica said

"Dragonair." Ash said

"Use Dragon Rush." Both said

"NAAAAAAAAAIR!" Both Pokémon roared as their horns glowed light blue, became surrounded by light blue dragon-shaped aura & clashed into each other, causing an explosion. When the smoke cleared, Dragonair was still standing as Ditto had fainted & reverted back to its normal form

"Ditto is unable to battle, Dragonair wins." The referee declared

"Ash has claimed the first win with Dragonair, looks like nothing beats the real thing as they always say." The announcer said

"Wow, Ash's plan worked." Misty smiled

"Yeah, & it was a close one too." Brock agreed

"Ditto return." Duplica said as she returned Ditto "You've gotten better at battling, Ash, I'm impressed."

"Thanks, my Pokémon & I have been training after all." Ash said

"Well, let's see if you can handle this." Duplica said as she sent out another Ditto

"Ditto." Ditto said

"Huh?/Nair?" Ash & Dragonar said confusingly

"Another Ditto?" Misty said confusingly

"This is looking more difficult than I thought." Brock said

"Ditto, use Dark Pulse." Duplica said as Ditto fired a beam of black & purple rings of energy from its mouth & hit Dragonair

"What the heck!?" Ash exclaimed surprisingly

"Holy cow, Ditto just used a move without transforming!?" The announcer said

"How can that be?" Misty said shockingly

"Wait a second, that's no Ditto." Brock said suspiciously

"Dragonair, Extreme Speed." Ash said as Dragonair hit Ditto with Extreme Speed

Just them Ditto glowed purple & turned into a black fox-like Pokémon with a red mane & red claws

"Ark!" The Pokémon roared as everyone became shocked & surprised

"Unbelievable, that Ditto Duplica sent out was actually a Zoroark in disguise, a Pokémon that's native to the Unova Region." The announcer said

"Zoroark?" Ash said as he pulled out his Pokédex

Zoroark, the Illusion Fox Pokémon, This Pokémon cares deeply about others of its kind, and it will conjure terrifying illusions to keep its den and pack safe.

"Where did Duplica get that Pokémon?" Misty said shockingly

"Fooled you, didn't we?" Duplica smirked "Zoroark's Ability is Illusion, It comes out disguised as one of the Pokémon in my team."

"You did fool me, I wouldn't be surprised if you had that kind of Pokémon." Ash smiled

"Thanks, but enough talk, let's battle." Duplica said

"Dragonair, use Dragon Tail." Ash said as Dragonair charged at Zoroark with Dragon Tail

"Zoroark, use Night Slash." Duplica said. Zoroark's claws glowed light Pokémon as both Pokémon clashed each other repeatedly

"Use Nasty Plot."

"Ark." Zoroark said as a cloud with a question mark in the center appeared above its head

"Use Wrap." Ash said as Dragonair wrapped her body around Zoroark & squeezed

"Ark!" Zoroark howled in pain

"Get it off you, use Crunch." Duplica said

"Ark." Zoroark said as its teeth glowed white & bit Dragonair's tail

"Nair!" Dragonair winced in pain

"Don't let go of it, Dragonair, use Twister." Ash said

"Naaaaair!" Dragonair said as she summoned a Twister which entrapped both Pokémon

"Zoroark." Zoroark struggled

"Zoroark, Night Daze." Duplica said

"AAAAAAAAAAAARK!" Zoroark roared as his eyes glowed red & unleashed a burst of pink & crimson field of energy which expanded outwards & broke apart the Twister, causing an explosion.

When the smoke cleared, Dragonair had fainted

"Dragonair is unable to battle, Zoroark wins." The referee declared

"That Zoroark is a very powerful Pokémon." Brock said

"You've fought well, Dragonair, return." Ash said as he returned Dragonair "Snowflake, I choose you!"

Ash sent out his Alolan Ninetales named Snowflake

"Ninetales." Snowflake said

"It looks like Duplica's not the only one with a Pokémon from another Region." The announcer commented

"Snowflake is perfect for the Ice Field." Misty said

"Since she's part Fairy Type, she should be strong against a Dark Type like Zoroark." Brock said

"Snowflake, let's start with Hail." Ash said

"Niiiiiiine." Snowflake said as it summoned dark cloud & snow

"Zoroark, use Shadow Claw." Duplica said. Zoroark's arm became surrounded by black claw-shaped aura & charged at Snowflake

"Nine!" Snowflake said as she quickly avoided the attack & went behind Zoroark

"Ark?" Zoroark said surprisingly

"Behind you!" Duplica said

"Use Moonblast." Ash said. Snowflake fired a pink orb of energy from her mouth & hit Zoroark

"Wow, that was pretty quick." Misty said

"Snowflake's Ability is Snow Cloak, so evasiveness increased after Ash had her use Hail." Brock said

"Way to use a Pokémon's Ability to your advantage, Ash has definitely improved." Misty smiled impressively

"Use Flamethrower." Duplica said

"Ark!" Zoroark said as it shot fire from its mouth

"Aurora Veil." Ash said

"Ninetales!" Snowflake said as she became surrounded in a veil of rainbow-colored aura & protected herself from the attack

"Now, use Ice Beam." Ash said as Snowflake fired light blue beams of ice from her mouth.

"Use Dark Pulse." Duplica said as Zoroark fired Dark Pulse & collided with Ice Beam

"Now, Feint Attack."

"Ark." Zoroark said as it disappeared

"Alright, Flamethrower." Duplica said as Zoroark appeared in front of Snowflake & hit Zoroark with Flamethrower

"Snowflake!" Ash gasped

"What just happened? Snowflake should have dodged that so easily." Misty said shockingly

"That's because of Feint Attack, Feint Attack is an unmissable attack which Duplica is using to hit its mark with other attacks." Brock said "Talk about a clever strategy."

"Two can play that game, Snowflake, use Feint Attack." Ash said

"Tales!" Snowflake said as she disappeared

"You too, Zoroark." Duplica said

"Now, Iron Tail/Brick Break!" Ash & Duplica both said as Snowflake & Zoroark tails/hands glowed & clashed each other repeatedly

"Both Pokémon are going head to head & things are beginning to heat up in the Ice Field." The announcer said

"Duplica is really making this a challenge, I gotta figure out how to slow down Zoroark, but how." Ash wondered until he got an idea "That's it, Snowflake, Aurora Veil."

"Nine." Snowflake said she used Aurora Veil

"Big mistake, go Zoroark!" Duplica said as Zoroark broke through Aurora Veil with Brick Break

"Gotcha, Confuse Ray!" Ash said.

"Ninetales!" Snowflake said as she became surrounded by multiple balls of energy which she fired & hit Zoroark causing it to be confused

"What!?" Duplica exclaimed shockingly

"Oh! & Zoroark is confused after being lured by Ninetales!" The Announcer said

"Zoroark, fight through it, use Feint Attack." Duplica said as Zoroark used Feint Attack, but crashed into a block of ice

"Tough luck, Duplica, use Icy Wind." Ash said. Snowflake blew a gust of wind with light blue sparkle in it from her mouth & hit Zoroark

"Use Flamethrower." Duplica said as Zoroark fired Flamethrower

"Ice Beam." Ash said. Ninetales avoided the attack & fired Ice Beam & hit Zoroark which froze it in a block of ice

"Oh no!" Duplica gasped

"Let's finish this with Dazzling Gleam." Ash said

"NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!" Snowflake said as she became surrounded in rainbow-colored field of energy, which expanded outwards

"Zoroark, Night Daze!" Duplica said

"ARK!" Zoroark eyes snapped open & used Night Daze "AAAAAAAAAAAARK!"

Both attacks collided which caused a huge explosion, when the smoke cleared, both

Pokémon had fainted & the Hail cleared

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, it's a draw." The referee declared

"Now both Trainers are down to one Pokémon, which will they choose to battle & who will turn out victorious?"

"You alright, Snowflake?" Ash said

"Ninetales." Snowflake said

"You were terrific." Ash said as he pet her before pulling out her Heal Ball "Take a good rest."

"Zoroark, return." Duplica said as she returned Zoroark "I must admit you caught me off-guard, but this ain't over yet, & here's my last Pokémon."

Duplica sent out a small Pokémon hidden under a Pikachu-like rag with a dribble drawn face & a lightning bolt-shaped stick

"Kyu kyu!" The Pokémon said

"Uhh, Brock, what is that?" Misty said disturbingly

"I don't know, but it's freaking me out a bit." Brock said

"Ash, meet Mimikyu." Duplica said

"Mimikyu?" Ash said as he pulled out his Pokédex

Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon, It wears a rag fashioned into a Pikachu costume in an effort to look less scary. Unfortunately, the costume only makes it creepier.

"That thing is giving me the creeps." Meowth said fearfully

"Then I guess you're out of the question." Ash said "What about you, Pikachu?"

"Pika Pika." Pikachu nodded

"Alright, I choose you!" Ash said

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said determinedly as he stepped into the battlefield

"It's Pikachu Vs Mimikyu, a Disguised Pokémon going up against the real thing, this will surely be a match everyone will be willing to see." The announcer said

"Mimikyu may be a disguised Pikachu, but nothing beats the real thing." Ash said

"We'll see about that, Mimikyu, Shadow Sneak." Duplica said

"Kyu." Mimikyu said as it created a shadow of itself which extended past Pikachu & hit him

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail." Ash said. Pikachu's tail glowed white & hit Mimikyu

"Hm." Duplica smirked

"Kyu Kyu." Mimikyu said as the head of its rag tilted

"Huh? What just happened?" Ash said confusingly

"Mimikyu's Ability is Disguise, so it doesn't take damage on the first hit, which means I get the next move." Duplica said "Use Shadow Ball."

"Kyu." Mimikyu said as it fired a black & purple ball of shadow energy

"Intercept it with Electro Ball." Ash said. Pikachu fired a ball of yellow electricity which collided with Shadow Ball

"That was close, use Thunderbolt."

"Pika CHUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu said he fired a bolt of yellow electricity

"Double Team." Duplica said

"Kyu!" Mimikyu said as it glowed white & create multiple copies of itself

"Pi? Pika?" Pikachu looked around

"Calm down, Pikachu, use Shock Wave." Ash said.

"Pika!" Pikachu said as a yellow orb appeared above his tail & released waves of electricity & hit Mimikyu & its copies.

"Use Shadow Claw." Duplica said. A black claw-shaped aura with purple outlines appeared from under Mimkyu's rag & hit Pikachu

"Now, use Play Rough."

Mimikyu charged at Pikachu & jumped towards him

"Quick, use Electroweb to protect yourself." Ash said

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said as he became surrounded by a web of yellow electricity which shocked Mimikyu

"Mimikyu, use Wood Hammer to break through it." Duplica said. Mimikyu's tail glowed orange which broke through Electroweb & hit Pikachu

"Pikachu!" Ash gasped

"Pika...Pi..." Pikachu said as he slowly got up

"Use Shadow Ball." Duplica said as Mimikyu fired Shadow Ball

"Knock it back with Iron Tail." Ash said as Pikachu deflected Shadow Ball with Iron Tail & hit Mimikyu

"Alright, now go for Mimikyu."

Pikachu charged at Mimikyu's with Iron Tail

"Mimikyu, Psychic." Duplica said

"Kyu." Mimikyu said as its eyes glowed blue & telekinetically held Pikachu in place

"Now's our chance, use Play Rough." Duplica said. Mimikyu jumped towards Pikachu & cloaked him with a thick, white smoke surrounded by stars while hitting him repeatedly.

"Pi Pika Pi!" Pikachu exclaimed while getting hit

"Looks like Pikachu is getting creamed by Mimikyu, could this already be the end for Ash after making a comeback in the Indigo League?" The Announcer said

"Ash better think of something quick, otherwise he's gonna lose." Brock panicked

"It's not over yet, Pikachu, Nuzzle!" Ash said

"Pika Pika Pika Pika Pika Pika!" Pikachu said as he repeatedly rubbed his cheeks generating electricity before nuzzling his cheeks against Mimikyu.

"Mimikyu!" Mimikyu yelled in pain as it got shocked

"Oh no!" Duplica gasped

"Kyu...Kyu..." Mimikyu said as it was surrounded by static electricity

"Looks like Mimikyu has been paralyzed by Nuzzle." The Announcer said

"Alright, use Iron Tail." Ash said as Pikachu hit Mimikyu with Iron Tail

"Mimikyu, use Wood Hammer." Duplica said. Mimikyu prepared Wood Hammer but it couldn't move dues to paralysis

"Let's finish this, Pikachu, use Volt Tackle!" Ash said

"Pika Pika Pika Pika Pika Pika PIKACHU!" Pikachu became surrounded by golden electricity & tackled Mimikyu hard causing an explosion, when the smoke cleared, Mimikyu had fainted

"Mimikyu is unable to battle, Pikachu wins, so the winner goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town." The referee declared

"Alright Pikachu, we did it!" Ash cheered as he hugged Pikachu

"Pika!" Pikachu said happily

Mimikyu return." Duplica said as she returned Mimikyu "That was a great battle, Ash, you really have improved over the past year."

"Thank you, Duplica, I was really surprised that you had a Zoroark & a Mimikyu." Ash said

"I could say the same about your Alolan Ninetales." Duplica smiled as they shook hands "Good luck in the rest of the tournament."

"Thanks, & good luck on your journey with your new Pokémon." Ash said

After the match was over, Ash was in the locker room with Misty & Brock

"Congratulations Ash, you were fantastic." Misty said

"Togepi." Togepi said happily

"Yeah, it was great seeing Duplica again after so long." Brock said

"Well, I get the feeling she's not the only one from our journey we'll be reuniting with." Ash said "But other than that, we got 1 field down, & 3 to go."

"Pi/Hm." Pikachu & Meowth nodded

Hey everyone, sorry it took so long to update this, but I hope you like the chapter. I thought that since Duplica is a Mistress in Disguise, I thought a Mimikyu & Zoroark would suit her.
