Jack's POV
I woke up to a loud smash and I knew that my dad was home as I turned on my side to look at my clock.

It was two in the morning and I heard his loud footsteps coming up the stairs and I force my eyes shut.

My door is swung open and I start shaking as my lights are flipped on and I could smell the alcohol on him already.

"Get up!" He says calmly at first but when I don't move he slams his fist on the door.

"GET UP!" He yells and I jump.

I get out of bed as I stand beside my bed watching as my father walked towards me.

As he got closer and closer to me the smell of alcohol got stronger and stronger by the minute.

"Your such a mistake! I ran out of money. I had to leave the bar cause I didn't have the money. I've spent so much on your pathetic ass! Buying you clothes, a phone, all this stuff! You being this ungrateful!" He yells as he punches me in the stomach.

I went through hours of beatings until he finally left and I laid on my floor in tears.

I held my stomach in pain as my lip trembled when I slowly get up and make my way to my bed.

I whimpered in my bed as I cried myself to sleep the night cuddling a tiny stuffed dog that my grandma gave me.

-In the morning-

My mother had passed away from a drug overdose and the nightmare of me finding her on the bathroom floor went through my mind last night.

I woke up with a soaked pillow and tear stained cheeks as I get out of bed in pain.

I went to my bathroom and I looked in the mirror to see my eyes were bloodshot.

I took a quick shower as I got out and I looked in the mirror again to see bruises up and down my stomach and ribs.

I sigh softly as I grab a bandage and I wrap myself up before heading back in to my room.

I grab a black and grey shirt with some black skinny jeans and some black vans as I comb my hair.(picture above)

I saw my phone screen turn on as I walk over and I see a kik notification as I grab my phone.

I hold on to it as I grab my book bag and headphones as I slip out of my room.

I crept down the stairs and I saw my dad on the couch sleeping and I sigh with relief.

I leave my house as I softly shut the door so I don't wake him up as I put my headphones in and I play a song. (The one above)

My mother use to sing this song to me whenever I had a bad dream and I woke up crying.

I open my kik messenger app so I can finally see who messaged me but when I read the name I didn't recognize it.

I bit my lip as I hit the accept button and I saw the message switch over to where I could see it and write a reply.

How are you today?

Good, yourself?

Swell. On your way to school?

I didn't answer until I got in to the school as I kept my head down as I walked to my locker.

I pulled my phone back out as I got back on the messenger app and I went to reply.

Just made it here

I saw. You look cute today ;)

My eyes widened as I read the message as I lifted my gaze from my phone as I looked around the hallway but everyone was talking to someone else.

Who are you?!

You'll have to see in due time.

I didn't respond after that I slipped my phone in to my pocket and I opened my
locker.

I put my bag away when I could hear laugh in getting closer to me as I turned to see my everyday bullies.

Zack the main bully pulled my headphones out of my ears and threw them on the floor.

I just watched silently as Liam stepped on them and broke them as I lost my only escape from the yelling at home.

"Hey emo!" Zack said as he shoved me in to the lockers.

"I-I'm not e-emo." I stutter.

"Yeah cause wearing all black makes you look like a rainbow you faggot!" Trey says and I just look to the floor.

"Are you gonna cry?!" Liam asks as he gets in my face.

"Be careful! He might kiss you." Zack says and I look up at him with anger in my eyes.

"Aw he's all mad." Trey mocks.

The next thing I know I'm on the ground after a punch to the stomach which one made last nights worse.

I groan as I hit the floor when Liam kicks me and I look up seeing Mark standing behind him just watching.

They finally stop and leave as I lay on the floor in pain when I feel a hand on my back.

I look up to see Matt, my best friend and I give him a slight smile as he helps me off the floor.

"You need to stand up for yourself." He says and I shake my head.

"It will only make it worse." I say as I grab my textbooks out of my locker.

I pick up my broken headphones off the floor and I toss them in the trash knowing I'll have to get another pair.

"That's the fourth set of headphones." I mumble as I walk to class.

"I know. Just hope school goes by quick." He says as he leaves to go to class.

I walk inside my class as I sit down for social studies with my desk in the very back.

I take my seat as the teacher begins her lesson after the bell rings when my phone vibrates in my pocket.

I pull it out to see the kik message notification and I dig realizing its the person from before.

Hey...you okay? I saw the scene in the hallway.

I'm fine. I'm use to it by now. But who are you?

I'm not telling.

Will you give hints? Like boy/girl? What you look like?

Fine. I'll give you that much cutie ;)

Okay. Then answer

I'm a guy. I have brown hair with brown eyes. I wear glasses sometimes. That's all the hints.

I smile at my phone as I glance up when I notice half the people in my class have brown eyes and brown hair.

Are we in class together right now?

Yes :) I see you sitting in the corner on your phone.

"Mcloughlin. Phone on my desk now!" The teacher says and I sigh.

I turn my phone off as I get up from my desk and I walk slowly towards her desk in front of the entire class.

I hear snickers and laughs from behind me as I set my phone down and I go back to my seat.

I look around once more but I don't see anyone on their phones except Mark but he's on Twitter I think.

The bell rings and I go to the desk and take my phone as I go to my next class for the day.

I open my kik messenger app to see a new message from this mystery man and I smile.

You need to be more sneaky with your phone :)

I smile even more as I put my phone away and go to my next class which drags on.

-end of day-

I finally go to my locker after the last bell as I grab my book bag and I put my textbooks away.

I hurry out of the school before any bullies can come find me as I go put my headphones in then I remember Liam broke them.

I search through my back finding a five dollar bill as I smile when I walk to the store from school.

I go inside as I look for headphones but apparently they were sold out when I sigh as I pass by the front desk to see Mark buying a pair of headphones.

He looks over at me and smiles but I just ignore him as I turn and leave when I start walking home.

I find myself walking in my door full of fear when I look to see my dad is gone and I go upstairs.

I put my bag down and I plug my phone in as I hear a slam and I bite my lip.

I look out my window scared when I see Mark next door with his parents and a moving truck.

"Great! Another thing to add to my misery." I think to myself.

My door opens and I turn to see my father who is drunk again as he walks u to me.

"Why are you staring at the neighbors?! You creep! Stop being a faggot!" He yells in my face.

"I-I w-wasn't..." I stutter as my lip trembles.

"Don't lie to me boy!" He yells as he slaps me.

I slump down to the floor as he leaves my room and my cheek stings badly as I go to the bathroom.

I shut the door and lock it as I sit on the floor after grabbing my razor from the counter.

-time skip cause I can!-

I finished my morning routine after bandaging my arms from last night as I grab a sweater and I put it on.

I go to leave my house when I see a little green bag on my steps as I grab it and I look at the note attaching.

I smile as I put the note back in the little green bag as I pull the box out which shows a new pair of headphones as a smiles spreads across my face.
