chapter two
"Dance: A series of movements that match the speed and rhythm of a piece of music," I watch Mr. Sam pace back and forth in front of the class as he explains the lesson for the day. "Your assignment for this week is to pick a kind of dance. After you pick and practice a routine with one other partner, I want you to perform your dance in front the class on next Monday."
The only dance I have ever done was ballet, and that was when I was a young child. I want Laurance to be my partner, but I doubt that he'd want to do ballet. He doesn't enjoy wearing tights and what he calld "inhumanly pointed shoes."
Alex mumbles something to herself, and Mr. Sam's attention snaps over to her. He forces her to repeat what she said, ane her eyes widen slightly.
"It's nothing really. I feel as though I may struggle at this assignment because I cannot dance well."
Mr. Sam smirks at her response, and I grimace at him. How sickening. He enjoys his students flaws and downfalls as well as embarrassing them in front of their peers.
"That's the point of the lesson, no? To learn something new?"
Class is dismissed, and I couldn't be more thankful. I suppose a ballroom dance routine could be easy. There most likely isn't much to it, so it should be fairly easy.
We walk towards the dorms, and I look up towards Laurance.
"You'll be my partner, won't you?"
He simply chuckles as he reassures me that he wouldn't rather have any other partner than me. This reassures me, and I can't help but smile at the thought of Laurance and myself dancing such a lovely dance. It reminds me of older times where girls wore larges dresses, and the dresses would flare out with each twirl.
"I'm glad that you're my dance partner. It would like old times!" I glance to my right and notice that Alex is talking to Vylad. "Just make sure not to tell Shawn though. I'd hate for you to get hurt because of me."

We've decided to practice our dance in my dorm room, and Laurance should be here any minute now. I tighten my ponytail as I face the door and wait for Laurance to knock on it. At least, I hope he knocks on it. Sometimes Laurance has a knocking problem. But then again, all of us do, Garroth especially.
Laurance knocks on the door, and I smile when I open the door to see him. He walks in and turns towards Alex who is sitting on her bed.
She looks up at us and sighs. "Alright," she says. "I'll leave the room. I'll be at Vylad's practicing if you need me."
She leaves, and Laurance smiles placing his hand on the small of my back pulling me closer to him. He quickly leans in, and I turn my face away from his as his lips land on my cheek.
He pouts when he pulls away. I grab my phone and slip out of his grasp. He plops on top of my bed, and I scold him for doing so. I sleep there, and I don't need his fat butt breaking it.
I go through YouTube videos about ballroom dancing. And after a large amount of time, I finally find a good video.
I pull Laurance up to his feet, and the video starts off on the beginning stance. We manage to pass that, and the steps are going well, but once we go a bit faster, I continuously step on his feet. He hisses each times, and I apologize after he does.
That's when he makes me stand on his feet. My eyes close as I hold tightly onto Laurance. He chuckles, and I notice that even if it's scary, I haven't messed up the dance yet.
The video ends soon, and we take a break. I sit on my bed twiddling my thumbs while wanders around the dorm room.
"This dorm room is fine and all, but it needs a soccer ball to complete the look."
I laugh walking towards him. "And why would I need a soccer ball? Neither person that lives here plays soccer," I comment.
"To complete the image of being my girlfriend," I roll my eyes at his stupid reply and stare up at him. He doesn't move, nor do I. "Kiss me. . ."
My lips are slightly parted, and I tilt my head up slightly as they close along with my eyes. I feel Laurance's lips against mine, but he smiles into the kiss.
A hint of advice when it comes to kissing: don't close your eyes too early.
Laurance turns us around, and I'm soon pressed against the cold wall that is now touching my back. He places his hands on each side of me on the wall, and I slowly move my hands from his chest to around his neck.
He begins to kiss down my neck, and my breath hitches.
"Laurance, stop," I breathe out. He mumbles a reply against my neck, but I know that he's only being stubborn. "Alex could walk in at any second. Or Vylad and her, or even Garroth. Garroth would kill you if he found out."
He gives in and releases me. I run to my mirror and check my neck for any marks he could've left behind. I sigh in relief when I see that there isn't any I place my hands against the dresser looking into my relfect.
"Remember that soccer ball that was always in the middle of your room?" I call out. "I'm glad that you think that it's haunted."
"I swear to you that it is! I never put it there!"
