chapter one
Waking up to my first day of college by being smacked in the face with a pillow wasn't how I expected the beginning of my college experience to be like.
Neither was being humiliated in front of the entire campus by Alex's yelling.
But everything becomes better once I'm taken out for breakfast and not having to pay for it.
As of right now I'm being completely immature during a lecture. I'm currently continuously poking Laurance's back with my pencil's eraser.
Poke one, two, three, and four haven't seemed to affect him yet. But once I go for a fifth, he turns around and breaks my pencil in half.
The professor announces for us to turn around and begin to talk to a neighbor nearby about what we think today's lesson is about. This is something that I didnt expect to happen, but I personally think that the professor just needs a minute or two to prepare everything for today's lecture. Except once Laurance turn to me, I begin to pout.
He gives me one of his extra pencils, and begins to smirk. "Do I need to make it up to you later babe?" He asks flirtatiously.
"No thank you," I reject his offer. "I am perfering to not become pregnant during college."
"Why must you always assume that when I ask you that question I'm hinting towards sex?" I raise my eyebrow at him. "Alright fine, most times I am hinting towards sex, but not this time. This time I want to take you out on a date," He takes my hands into his. "Just you and me tonight."
I smile, "I'd like that."
"I'll pick you up at seven sharp then."

When Laurance thought of tonight's date, I hope he remembered about curfew. Curfew is at 9:30, and I refuse to get in trouble before the second day of actual college.
"What are you geting so dressed up for, Y/N?"
I look to my side to see Alex walking closer to me. I tell her about my date, and she picks the necklace up next to my hand and places it around my neck. I laugh and realize just how weird our friendship really is.
"I'd hate to admit this, but Laurance is an amazing boyfriend to you. Shawn just likes to be a jerk and be possessive when it comes to me. I know he cares. At least, that's what I make myself believe."
I look up at the mirror, and she only smiles. It saddens me to hear this, but I never did like Shawn to begin with.
It seems like only yesterday where we were child playing dress up wih fake jewelry, and Laurance would walk in and be sassy. But in the end, he would play with us.
I can hear the knocking in the door, and Alex leaves my side to open the door. Laurance steps in, and I can hear them talking. I slip on my shoes and walk towards Laurance.
"The way that you both look at each other is the way all couples ought to," Alex says, and she ushers us out of the dorm room after reminding us to be back before curfew.
Laurance takes my hand and soon enough I find out that we're at the beach. It's completely empty except for us, and suddenly Laurance picks me up bridal style. I begin to laugh, and he twirls around with my in his arms. That's until he walks over to the lifeguard chair and tries to get me up there.
I find it cute at his gestures. And even if he's failing, it's adorable. He frowns when he learns that placing me on top of there is going to be impossible, so he puts me down. To humor him, I climb onto the chair and look down at him.
He smiles at me and climbs up the ladder a bit. He hangs his face in front of my own, and I can feel his lips graze against mine. A shiver runs down my spine, and my eyes gently close. I can feel my eyelashes brush against my skin lightly, and I tilt my head up ever so slightly to where our lips collide into a blissful kiss.
He pulls away with a smile and climbs down the ladder. He takes off my shoes and helps me down from the lifeguard chair. He sets both of our shoes where I was just sitting and takes my hand in his once more only to run towards the water.
I laugh when my feet splash into the water. He chases me as I run away from him, and this reminds of how hard it is to run in water. He catches up to me and grabs my wrist stopping me. I look back, and pulls me into his chest. I wrap my arms around him as he kisses the top of my head. I look down to see him smiling at me.
"Damn, you're so beautiful," he mutters.
"Look who's talking."
By this times, we're walking up and down the shoreline. I look down at my feet and notice my footsteps in the wet sand. But they soon disappear, or flood with water, once the water floods part of the shoreline. While we walk, I pick up shells that I find pretty, and even sand dollars when we come across them. I place the iteams in Laurance's jacket pockets.
"Stop here," he stays and walks in front of me. That is until he stops a good distance away and pulls out his phone. "We're on a date, and you're wearing my jacket. I want a memory of this in picture. Besides, the moon light is hitting you perfectly."
I smile as he takes a few pictures. When he finishes, I'm taken back to my dorm room.
"Tonight was amazing," I comment once we reach my dorm room with about ten minutes to spare before curfew.
He peaks my lips. "It was amazing because we were together. I'll see you tomorrow in class, beautiful."
I watch his retreating figure and walk inside my dorm room.
"How was the date?"
