I don't think there's anything triggering in this chapter, but just in case-

Trigger warning

As soon as Andy hears the door slam shut, he sobs hard into Remington's shoulder.

"Shh Andy, it's okay. We'll leave town for a few days. It'll be okay." Remington whispers, trying to make Andy feel a little safer. It's hard for Remington to make Andy feel safe when he himself doesn't feel safe.

"I'm going to pick you up and carry you, okay?" Remington whispers, not wanting to startle Andy by picking him up out of nowhere. Andy nods.

Remington gently and carefully picks Andy up and carries him upstairs to the bedroom, sitting on the bed with his back against the headboard and with Andy on his lap clinging to him and crying.

"He- He hurt me." Andy sobs, holding onto Remington even tighter.

"Shh I know Andy, I know. I won't let him hurt you again. I'm never letting you out of my sight." Remington says as he holds Andy tighter and rubs his back.

"He hit me and- and pushed me again." Andy cries harder.

"Andy, you need to breathe. You're gonna work yourself into a panic attack." Remington says as he rocks Andy gently.

"I can't! I'm too- I'm too scared!"

"You can. Here, follow my breathing, okay?" Remington whispers.

Andy nods slightly and starts to copy the way Remington is breathing.

It takes a good 20 minutes, but Andy eventually starts breathing better and isn't crying as hard, and eventually falls asleep on Remington's shoulder.

Realizing that Andy is asleep, Remington carefully lays him down on the bed and covers him with a blanket before walking out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Once he's out of the room, he sits on the floor in the hallway, not wanting to leave Andy's side. He pulls out his phone and starts looking up flights and hotels so that he and Andy can get away for a while without worrying about Ashley coming after Andy again.

He eventually finds somewhere he thinks Andy would enjoy and buys two plane tickets and gets a hotel room. Once he's finished with that, he goes back into his room and lays on the bed with Andy. Andy immediately cuddles up to Remington and they both nap for a few hours, just holding each other.
