Bloodsport: Emerging Stars.

(February 8th, 2020.... Houston, Texas: UFC 247: Jones vs. Reyes.)

Joe Anik: Giles applying whatever pressure needs to be applied to his opponent here with three minutes in the second of this three-round fight... OH HE GETS STUNG, VICIOUS HOOK BY WILLIAMS, and a stiff right hand!

Trevin Giles' opponent, a man only known by one of the most feared nicknames to have been ever introduced by the legendary combat sports announcer Bruce Buffer. Kaelan "Starfall" Williams, 19 years old and a mere one-year veteran of the popular mixed martial arts promotion Ultimate Fighting Championship better known by its shortened acronym in the UFC, having signed back with the sports company back in January 2019, had been getting pressured through the first round but it had been pretty much a deadlocked second up until the native Floridian caught the man with a devastating left hook, putting his power and subtle accuracy on display and everyone had been getting their first hand look at a kid who was 7-0 in his MMA career having started out at the age of 17, now seeking his first UFC win and he might've been closing in on it.

Joe Rogan: He has to keep on the pressure, just like Trevin has been giving to him.

Longtime color commentator Joe Rogan, one of the most popular podcasters in the world who worked with UFC since the early nineties had been giving his analysis of what he had seen out of the young newcomer.

Joe Rogan: And he's about to, Starfall came out blazing in the first three minutes of round one and now coming back with a vengeance!

Daniel Cormier: And this is exactly what he needed, just a moment to breathe get some space between them and we've all seen the scouting report how dangerous of a kick-boxer this young man is going back to his PFL days-

And then it happened.... and the roar of the Houston crowd signified the finish of round 2...

Joe Anik: OHHHH! WILLIAMS STUNS GILES WITH A KICK TO THE HEAD AND HE GOES DOWN CRUMPLING- AND STARFALL CRANKS UP THE PRESSURE, RIGHT HAND, LEFT HAND, LEFT HAND, LEFT HAND!

It was then the referee of the contest, Jason Herzog put up a stop to the hellacious barrage of the young adult hailing from Miami, Florida, getting on top of Trevin.

Jason Herzog: STOP, STOP, THAT'S IT!

Joe Anik: AND THAT WILL DO IT! WHAT. A. DEBUT! STARFALL MAKES GILES GO STARGAZING THE HARD WAY!

Joe Rogan: This kid is a second generation mixed martial artist and he may have just shown the world he's up next.

His team comes into the octagon and the celebration after he crawls onto to the top of the cage he dreamed of being in one day. He sees his family in attendance they all wave at him as he blows his mother a number of air kisses to the cheek, holding his fist up for his father and hearts for his two sisters. After getting down, his team being the camp of UFC great Glover Teixeira's brain, The Teixeira MMA & Fitness Camp with the future Hall of Famer hugging him tightly.

Glover Texieira: First of many kid! Welecome to big leagues!

Kaelan: You already know, Big GOAT!

Trevin taps his shoulder and offers up his hand, which the newcomer quickly accepted.

Trevin: Hell of an effort, kid. You're going places, for sure.

Kaelan: Thanks man, and another for sharing my debut with me.

Joe Rogan: Kaelan, right?

Kaelan: Yes, Sir!

Joe offers his hand too and he immediately shakes it.

Joe Rogan: Hell of a debut, kiddo. I can already see the bright lights in your future, keep working hard and I'm sure we're gonna be having more of these interviews, like this one coming in a few moments.

Kaelan: For sure, looking forward to it!

Jason Herzog: Kaelan, I need you arm.

Kaelan: No doubt, let's make this thing official official.

Jason grabs both mixed martial artists hands as is customary when finalizing a sanctioned fight in any combat-based event with The Veteran Voice of the Octagon ready to put Kaelan's first UFC victory in the history books.

Bruce Buffer: Ladies and Gentlemen! Referee Jason Herzog has called a stopped to this contest in Round Number Two with two minutes and thirty-seven seconds remaining, declaring your winner by.... KNOCKOUT! KAELAN "STARFALL" WILLLLLIAAAAAMSSSSS!

The Texas crowd who had jam-packed the home of the Houston Rockets roared in approval of the finish as Kaelan soaked it in all before Joe launched a volley of questions for the new kid.

Joe Rogan: I'm standing here with the winner, Kaelan Williams. Kaelan, I mean man! What a debut to start out your UFC Career, you were previously undefeated in your last promotion going a sterling seven wins, three of which didn't even get out of the first round and brought that same mean and ready to kill attitude out here tonight, now you were brought in as a last minute substitution for an injured James Krause, so let me ask you, what were those nerves like knowing this is how'd you be making your UFC debut?

Kaelan: Man, this is just so crazy! It wasn't all that long ago I was graduating high school and going to prom, y'know Joe? This all wouldn't be possible without God man, and my amazing ass camp led by the great Glover Texieira! When they got the call and Dana specifically requested for me, my nerves were honestly shot that day. I called my mom, my dad, my sisters and they were just as nervous, especially my pops and mom. Of course, all well's that ends well you feelin' me Joe?

Joe: I am indeed, quickly let's take a look at the jumbtron and see where things really opened for you in the moments leading to your knockout... you were feeling out Trevin and he had been peppering you in a feeling out process to start round two but you never once looked frazzled what did you see in which you liked that made you go with a leg kick to sit him down?

The replay of the moments for the KO are shown as Kaelan looks and diagnoses everything.

Kaelan: I was just looking for a definitive blow, and it definitely felt like the momentum was starting to tide in my direction. You're right, he was peppering me, that's my fault. I wasn't listening to my coaches and I definitely took on more offense than I really planned on, but once they told me to slow things and hit him right on his chin and then deliver a couple of knees to the gut, that's all I really needed to get the ball rolling towards flooring a veteran of this sport.

Joe: You mentioned your father's here and we all know who he is, one of the best to compete in both the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions and even has a couple of title reigns to his name. We know him as Andrew "No Mercy" Williams. You know him simply as Dad. What did he tell you regarding your debut?

Kaelan: Just live in the moment. You can have one real debut and you need to make the most of it, get your name out in the world and I'm glad to have him as my first sensei. This just the first of many you guys! Aye Dana, you already if you want the ratings and that bag for real, you holla at the man that's gonna be making his opponent watch the stars!

Joe: Ladies and Gentlemen, Kaelan "Starfall" Williams! Congratulations!

After taking the chance of victory pictures with his coaches and the former UFC Champion, he stopped short of the cage door, shaking hands with new boss Dana White, he mingled with the fans even getting a fan to sign his hat, which he accepted quickly and without hesitation. Once he parted for the locker room, he grabbed several bags of ice, immediately grabbing six in total to quell his pain targeting his arms, shoulders, calves and back, the last of would be taped around his abdomen but quickly did its job. Suddenly just before he could grab a granola bar and other refreshments to recover his lost energy from his eight minute long fight when a wave of a people crowd in, this being his family.

Katherine: Make way you buncha bums, make way so I can see my baby!

Brittany: Kaelan!

Kaelan: I'm... done! Present! Let 'em through. Family over everything after all.

Kaelan's older sister, Brittany, 23 years of age is a recent graduate from the University of Miami and as of 2019 had been doing everything in her power to become a doctor moves in with her other younger sibling Trinity, a fifteen year old sophomore in high school and the aforementioned former UFC competitor and champion in Andrew Williams.

Katherine: Are you all right, Kaelan?

Kaelan: Yeah, yeah. This is just something I've always done after fights. I'm still getting kicked and punched just about everywhere. It's nothing to worry about, just being cautious so I don't cramp up.

Andrew: Well how it'd feel? Was it everything you wanted and dreamed of, son?

Kaelan: Most certainly, dad. This is what the best of the best want. I know I've got a long way to being up top with guys Kamara Usman, Dustin Poirier, and the upper crust of the UFC but this is exactly what I needed. To test myself against the elites and getting that first win out of the way, is exactly what I wanted. Now I'm gonna fly back home, provided my muscles don't tense up and catch a Charley Horse.

Katherine promptly thwacks her son upside his head for the number of scares in the two rounds prior to his knockout.

Kaelan: OW! What was that for mom?!

Katherine: That was for taking the dumbasses' punch straight to the face, you're lucky all you've got to the show for it was a black eye. You could have ended up with something so much like a broken nose or fractured eye socket!

Kaelan finishes rubbing the growing bump on his head as he pleadingly looks over at his sister with a cheeky smile.

Brittany: Don't give me that look, K. You knew what you're getting into signing up and succeeding Dad in the world of combat sports, it's only natural Mom's gonna be concerned. I can still check your bruises, make sure you're not internally bleeding.

Kaelan: Much appreciated, eldest sibling.

Brittany takes out her medical school bag and begins an impromptu examination of her only brother and following about five minutes, she concludes it.

Brittany: I'm happy to say Mom and Dad, Kaelan outside of one minor black eye and a couple of bruises, is going to be fine. He'll just need a lot of rest so he can't catch any cramps.

Kaelan: Which is precisely why after my body cools down and I walk around the arena, I'm taking a flight back home.... rest and recharge. I can't see my next fight being a for two to three months at most besides. You guys should be getting back so Trinity doesn't miss a day of school.

Trinity: Oh now he cares about my education.

Kaelan ruffles her hair, all the while he adjusts the ice and heat pack around his torso.

Kaelan: Well yeah I do. Just because I'm not going to college full-time doesn't mean you shouldn't follow me in that aspect. I only want what's best for you. Take your studies and academics seriously Trin, I mean it. I only took a break because the stress was beating me like heat does to a mule. Enjoy the things you get in high school, you only ever get them once... it won't be long before you're in college, slaving away at mid-terms, finals and meaningless essays. I'll be right there suffering with you.

The family all share a hearty laugh....... with some hours passing by.... the Toyota Center had no one but arena staff staying over night to clean the building of concessions, drinks, beers and arena pamphlets.... soaking in the scent of overarcing buttered popcorn he watched as the lights and octagon were being taken down, he heard an arena tour from the tunnel.

Tour Guide: And here is where you all witnessed a many UFC Fighters step up to get their final preparations such as first aid treatment, water- and oh my ladies and gentlemen we've stumbled upon one of the UFC's newest combatants- Kaelan "Starfall" Williams! Kaelan, how are you feeling?

Kaelan: Ah, a question for the people? I guess I can answer that now that my pockets are gonna be filled with cash for Performance of the Night. In a word.... I guess I'm feeling-

The words stop tumbling out of his mouth when he looks at a blonde woman in the group, staring right back at him and for a moment it was nothing but the space between them.... she flashes him a polite smile and this snaps him quickly back to the real world.

Kaelan: I'm feeling blessed. I got to live out my dream, succeed my father in something that he's been great at for so many years and my family was behind me. Both my metaphorical and literal families. It doesn't get any better than that, Mr. Tour Guide, Sir.

They all clap for him, both after his performance and his wise words post fight.... but just as the tour left the woman stood after.

???: Heck of a fight, wasn't it?

Kaelan: Which one?

???: All of them... but really yours and the main event. How are you feeling?

Kaelan: Ha. Ask my calves that, I'm convinced they fell asleep on me.

They share a laugh before he extends his hand.

Kaelan: Kaelan... but you can call me-

???: "Starfall"? On the account your many opponents see nothing but stars once they go falling to the mat, isn't that right?

Kaelan: That's right. I'm surprised someone got the reasoning behind my entire nickname right, word for word.

???: What can I say, I like to stay in the loop with every newcomer. Sydney. Sydney Sweeney.

They shake hands before she realizes the tour is heading back into the tunnel.

Sydney: I should probably get to heading back, my friends and I were part of the tour which came with the event tonight. Congrats on the win, hopefully there are more in your future, Kaelan.

Kaelan: Right... for sure.....

He watches as her luscious blonde hair is the last image he sees....

Kaelan: I'm sure this isn't the last... time... we're gonna cross paths, Ms. Sweeney.

End of Chapter One!
