A week later....

A night before Melf's birthday...

Mew was in his study room,

"Dad"

"Yes Melf..come in"

Melf entered room with his granny.

"You know...tomorrow something is there..."

"What? I dont know?" Mew started acting..

"Daaaaaad!!!!" Melf whined

"Meeeelffff" Mew teased him.

"Dad...Im very very serious"

"aah aahh...tell me what is it?"

"You know....tomorrow is the most special day of your life?" Melf raised both eyebrows excitedly..

"Umm...let me think...Mom's birthday?" He looked at his mother and winked at her

"No daaaadd.... Think hard"

"Then...umm....My girlfriend's birthday?"

"DAAAAAD!!! YOU HAVE GIRLFRIEND?" He asked in surprised tone.

"No...wait....I dont have any girlfriend" Mew chuckled.

"Ahh...If you hide to me na...I will not talk to you"

"Shhh...I dont have any...you know that right...come come...let me think"

"Think hard!!!" he was pressurising his dad.

"nahh...I dont remember anything special"

Listening to his dad, Melf was on verge of crying...

"Da....dad...yo...you dont" He started crying...

Mew rushed to him with guilt seeing his son crying....he hugged him.."aahhh...Sorry sorry...I was just teasing you Melf....I remember baby....Its my favortie man's birthday"

Melf stopped crying...he started smiling "Hahahaha....I knew dad....you remember"

Seeing the sudden change, Mew was startled. "Woah....what a sudden change...."

"Thats a trick dad" He winked at him

"nice man! Im impressed with your performance"

"Mew....your son is very smart ha...he knows how to get hold of you" His mother started laughing...

"I can see that... I really dont understand...where does he learn all this"

"Dad....thats a secret" Melf kept finger on his mouth..

"Okay boss...Now tell me what you want for your birthday?"

"Ummm....I want play station, one piece characters, all story books, chocolate icecream bucket, Spiderman Game,...."

"Woah....thats a very long list" Mew kept his hand in sighing gesture.

"hehe" Melf just chuckled.
"Dad..you know I just want to spend my day with you and granny...I dont want anything else "

"really?? Not even the letter?" His granny teased..

"Granny...thats an exception"

"Fine fine...tomorrow its my baby's day... Where you wanna go?"

"Umm...amusement park?"

"Done!" Mew high fived him!

Melf turned to his granny with a puppy face...

"Graaaaannyyyy..."
She knew he was upto something..

"what is it sir?" she teased him.

"Can I....get letter tonight?" asking with twinkling his eyes...

Mew chuckled seeing his face.

"No no young man! There's a rule you know..at the end of your birthday you will get the letter"

"Aaaaa......granny I will be 8years old...i will be a good boy...pweettyyy plleaseee" He agaim showed his puppy face...

"No...Cant you wait till tomorrow night?"

"Aahhh...fine" He made a face.

"Hey! Melf...dont make that face okay"

He teased her more.

"Okay okay fine...now Melf go to your bed..tomorrow morning we'll be going out" Mew stopped them.

"Good night dad, Granny"

"Good night"

Next morning...

Mew decided to bake cake for Melf..
Every year it became a ritual to bake cake for birthday, otherwise Melf would stay angry with Mew.

He even remember once because of his surgeries lined up, he was unable to bake...Melf was very sad whole day. Later when he was free he rushed home with cake from shop but Melf was very angry..

But next day, Melf came to him and said sorry for his behavior.

When Mew asked him why he was asking forgiveness, he said that the letter made him realise that his dad is very precious person.

"Good morning Dad" Melf came out of his room

"Good morning Young man! Happy birthday!!" He hugged him

"Thankyou dad...wow Panda cake" he was so excited seeing the cake

"yeah...for lazy young man" Mew chuckled.

"Hahaha ..Im not lazy dad..and now Im 8years old..and I have even decided to join sports"

"Ohh hoo...you decided? Which one?"

"Umm...I was first confused between Basketball and Football, but when I closed my eyes, my heart said Basketball...."

"so Basketball it is...Good...we'll buy you the everything you need"

"Thankyou dad"

"ask your granny to come..we'll have breakfast together then will leave for amusement park"

"Okay"

He ran to call his granny..

Later having their breakfast, they left for Amusement park.

Whole day they enjoyed different rides, ate different snacks, they even won many games...Melf even bought Panda teddy.

Evening they returned back...though Melf was tired...but he was excited for the last gift.

The letter.

He was waiting for his granny to give the letter.

"Graaaaannnyyyyy"

"Yeah...I know I know..dont make that puppy face"

"Aow...how do you even know what I was going to ask"

"Because Im your granny...I know everything"

"Can I get the letter?"

"Yes you can"

She went to her room to get the letter.

When she came out, Mew was also present there.

"Here take this" she handed the letter.

"Granny...I was thinking have you ever read these letters?"

"No..I never did.. That was something from your mother. She said that only you have the right to read"

"Dad...even you dint?"

"No...she dint even tell me about these letters...its just when you were 2years old , your granny told me about the letters. There were total 6letters."

"Yes...She gave me 6letters for you. When you were 3years old remember I gave you the letter and you were so excited to see your mom's photo.."

"Yes granny I remember. I still have that photo on my side table. But then that means, this is the last letter?" He asked sadly

"Yes son..but dont worry. She is always in your heart..you can feel her" Mew assured him.

"Yes...and Melf, this box is also from her. But she asked me to give you after you complete reading all the letters. So once you're done with letter reading, you can open it" she handed him the box

"Okay granny thankyou...can I go back to my room to read?"

"Yes you can. But after reading you should sleep okay?" Mew said.

"Yes dad..thankyou for today.. Good night"

"Good night"

Melf went to his room and sat on his bed...

'Mumma...I miss you' He said

And opened the letter....
