Hey Everyone! So from the response, it looks like some of you didn't like the last part or how the story is progressing. After next update, I will decide if I want to cut short the story or keep it same.

I mentioned earlier that I will change the name of this SS. So from next update, it will have a new name. Just giving you heads up. Another new Kaira treat....possibly coming your way.

They stared into each other's eyes and were lost in their own world. Naira was the first one to break the eye-lock. She spoke innocently "Baas Happy Birthday! Aur kuch nehi!" In response, Kartik's eyes twinkled in mischievousness. With a hand-gesture he asked for a minute and made her sit properly.

Soon jumping on the road, Kartik turned towards her. Then taking back steps, he started walking far from the car that was parked on one side of the street. Naira kept wondering what he is up to now? When he was at a certain distance from her, he waved his hand to get her attention.

She started at him in amusement. Kartik first pointed at her and then at his heart. Then stretching his hand, he shouted like a crazy lover "I love you Sherni. I love you. I love you so much. You are mine and only mine. Your Mendak loves you a lot. I love you!" Naira looked at him with all her love and slowly mouthed "I L-O-V-E Y-O-U M-Y M-E-N-D-A-K".

All the while his eyes didn't leave hers for once. She gestured him to come back to her. He also asked her in a gesture that just one more time he wants to declare his love for her. She just shook her head at his madness.

Still facing Naira, he turned sideways. While staring at her, he kept moving in the middle of the road. Naira was so lost in him that she also failed to notice, where he was heading towards?! He gave her a flying kiss with his trademark killer smile. She also told him with a gesture that this Sherni is all his.

Kartik's all focus was on her and Naira's was on him. "I love you Naira! I love you!" he yelled in happiness. "I love you N..." and before he could complete the sentence...boom! A car came with such speed from the front and hit him so hard that his body flew in the air. He was hurled on the road and fell a few feet away from where he was earlier standing. The back of his head made the first contact with the hard surface. Then his body rolled down on the road and became motionless when his face ended up touching the rough surface of the road.

The impact of his body falling on the road was so great that it made a thunderous sound. The car didn't stop at this and almost ran over Kartik's legs. His body that was laying flat on his stomach, it again rolled down on the road a few times and came to a halt when he was lying straight on his back. By now he was drenched in blood from several places. The car was gone and everything fell silent in the surrounding.

Naira, who has witnessed the entire scene, went numb. Everything happened so quickly that she didn't even get a chance to process it. All she could see was that her love was all covered in blood and lying lifeless on the middle of the road. Her heart was pounding so hard inside that she felt it would leap out of her chest at any minute.

She was too shocked to react when fear took over her. She tried, but couldn't even manage to call out his name, let alone move her body. Continuous tears made their way out of her eyes. She closed her eyes and hoped that it was all a bad dream. The hurt was unbearable. Still gathering courage, Naira finally screamed in a painful voice "Kartik!" Her eyes opened with pure horror. She jumped from the bonnet of the car and ran to him as if her life depended on it.

Without caring about anything, she just dropped on her knees in front of him. Kartik was barely conscious. His eyes were dropping close and breath was becoming uneven with each passing moment. His voice was so feeble that she could barely hear him.

She sat down with a thud and gently took his head on her lap. While doing so, Naira noticed that continuous blood was oozing out from the back of his head. She realized that his head has sustained the maximum injury in this accident.

She looked here and there for help, but no one was there in that empty street to help her out. Kartik was too heavy for her to take him to their car and she couldn't risk leaving him in the middle of the road in that state. She didn't even want to think, what could be the outcome if another car passed by this road again?! She had to be there to protect him.

At the same time she needed to call for help, but her phone was in the car. Her Kartik was in need of care and she had to act fast. Naira was making silent payers to the Almighty in complete helplessness. Suddenly she remembered about Kartik's phone. Not hurting his head as it was on her lap, she carefully took out his phone with one hand. With shaking hands, she dialed their hospital that was nearby. She had asked them to bring an ambulance to the accident spot quickly. All the while, she was looking at his face.

Naira dropped the phone, when she noticed that Kartik was trying to take a hold of her hand with his shaking hand and his lips were moving in a mere whisper. She immediately caught it between her palms in a firm hold and spoke with broken voice "Sssh! Please don't say anything. You have to be strong for me. You have to fight for your Sherni. Please don't give up on me. Your Sherni won't let anything happen to you. Help is coming! They are on their way. Kartik, please keep your eyes open!"

She kissed his hand while kept saying things to him in order to keep him conscious "God will never separate us. He won't ever take you away from me. You trust me na! Just hang in there Mendak, please!"

Then resting his hand on the side, Naira held his face with her both hands and kissed his forehead while mumbling, "I love you. I love you Kartik. Please don't go away from me! Please, don't leave me!"

When she brought her face up to look at him, she was shocked to the core. His eyes were completely closed and hands had no movement. Instantly she kept her head on his chest to hear his heartbeat. He was barely breathing now. Getting up, Naira desperately reached for his hand to check his pulse. She realized that he got into a cardiac arrest.

Her whole body was shaking with fear. She mentally told herself to get a grip because her Kartik needed her most now. She pulled her scarf from the neck and carefully placed his head over it. Then a frantic Naira tore open his shirt and started performing CPR until the ambulance arrived.

Soon they reached the hospital. Kartik was taken to the operation theater immediately, as Negi Uncle had kept everything ready and also completed the necessary formalities. Since it was a hit and run case, he didn't want any compromises in Kartik's treatment or any other procedures. He informed Manish as well.

Once the doors were closed, Naira leaned on the opposite wall and slid down on the floor like a lifeless body. That's how the family members found Naira when they arrived in the hospital.
