Chapter Thirty-One.

05:45am.

"Will, she already said that she's Aliyah Johnson," Maddy said as she paced the length of their room,in William's estate beside the bay.

She was partly angry, but didn't let it show. She has always imagined what her first time here,in camps bay, would look like.

Sitting on the balcony overlooking the bay, with Will by her side and doing lots and lots of shopping. Never in her wildest dream did she think that she would be chasing after someone who went missing three years ago.

"I know, but it's obvious that she does not remember anything." William slipped his feet into his running shoes, then got on his feet. "Jamal did something to her. And I am going to find out what."

"Will, are you being serious right now?"

"Do I look like I am joking?"

"No."

"Then you have your answer. I will be back before Eight am." He brushed past her. "Maddy, don't worry okay?"

She pursed her lips. William stayed Rooted to the door way, waiting for her answer. Maddy knew that he would not go without it,so she nodded.

Satisfied with her answer,he left for his early morning jog.

Maddy plopped  down on her bed with a sigh. So far, stalling William from finding out the truth was not working. And if they continued like this, the truth would be out in no time.

She needed a plan. And she needed to act really fast.

"Can I come in?"

Maddy's eyes narrowed when she saw Lea in the doorway, with a suspicious look on her face.

"No." But she came in anyway. "Why are you here?"

"To talk to you, obviously." Lea stood in the middle of the room, legs wide apart in a defensive stance, with both hands on her hips. "I know the truth behind all this."

Maddy's eyes narrowed into slits. "You're bluffing."

"You think so? I think you keep forgetting who I am."

"I very well know who you are," she got to her feet. "Maria-Alejandra Mendoza. Daughter to the second most fearful and powerful man,Salvador Mendoza."

Lea smirked with satisfaction. "Glad you know. I did my findings, and I found out that this is in fact, the fifth time you are coming to camps bay."

Maddy got to her feet, her eyes wide with shock. "H-how---"

"Do I know?" Her smirk widened. "Never mind. I also happen to know that Jamal Johnson and you are in cahoots. And not only that,I also know who your boss is.",

"Who?"

"It is, hummph." Lea's hand flew to the back of her head, when she brought to to her face, she saw blood.

Her head began to spin and she turned around to see her attacker. Her face became white with shock when she was the person. But before she could speak, something hit the back of her head, once more, hard.

She went down like a lead pole.

"Boss." Maddy dropped the ballet figurine she was holding,on the floor. "We need to act really fast. If Lea can find the truth, then they can also do."

"I talked with Jamal." The boss said. "We have to get rid of this bitch's body first. Everything would end tonight.",

"What do you mean?"

"Tonight,I would get my revenge." The boss grinned. "The Mckade's would pay for what they did to my family and I. I would destroy them like they destroyed my life. I would make them pay greatly."

"What about Will?"

"He would be spared."

08:23am.

"Andy, you have been staring at me as if I were some specimen,is everything alright?" Aliyah popped a pop corn into her mouth with a frown.

The girls followed Jamal out today again as usual. And since she promised Jamal not to go to work today, she decided to go to Andy's place. They were sitting on the porch swing at the back of the house, with two bowls of pop corn on their laps.

Aliyah always loved a house that has a porch swing and also a garden. And Andy's house had both.

Ever since she arrived there that morning,Aliyah noticed that Andy was looking at her more closely as if searching for something.  Which was downright weird.

"Nothing." Andy chewed on her pop corn. "How long did you say that you were married to Jamal?"

"He told me that we got married three years ago."

"He told you?"

"Yes."

"Do you recall meeting him anywhere?"

Aliyah searched her head for any image or memory of her meeting Jamal, surprisingly, nothing came.

"No."

Andy placed her bowl on the small stool in from of the swing. "I want to show you something."

Reaching into her pocket,Andy withdrew five different pictures and gave it to Aliyah who set her bowl aside.

Aliyah peered at the picture with a frown on her face. The first one was the one of someone who looks like her,but this person has a shorter and curly hair, and it was not inky black like hers. But their faces and other things look the same.

The other picture was of her standing on a beach watching sunrise, with a pleasant look on her face. The next one was of her and the man who kissed her the other day,William,on the beach with the sun behind them.

Another one is of her sitting in front of a bonfire, with a lady dressed like an Indian beside her. They looked deep in conversation.

The last one was of the sunset, which casted a glow over the sea, making it look like a...

"Sea of fire." She finished in a whisper.

"What was that?" Andy moved closer to her. "Do you remember anything?"

"She," Aliyah pointed at her look alike in the picture. "Who is she?"

"That is Ella. Rafaella Milestone."

The pictures fell from her fingers and her hands flew to her head as another image flashed in her mind.

................

"Promise me that you would watch sunrise with me,Raffy."

"Only,if you promise to watch sunset with me. Liam."

................

"Ali,Ali are you okay?" Andy shot to her feet.

"Yes." Aliyah gasped. "Raffy. I couldn't see the person. But I know that person said Raffy. And also Liam."

Andy gasped. "He's right. You're Ella."

"Who?"

"William. Liam. You used to call him that." Andy picked her phone from where it was laying on the stool. She dialled William's number the same time she heard a knock on the door.

With her phone cradled between her ear and shoulder, she walked over to the front door and wrench it open the same time,William picked her call.

"Hello," she held the phone away from her ear at the sight of the stranger standing on the porch. "Sorry, who are you?"

"Your worst nightmare."

Andy turned to run back inside but the stranger tackled her to the ground, then hit the back of her head with the butt of their gun.

Andy's mouth opened and closed like a fish. Pain lanced through her,she opened her mouth to scream in warning to shout a warning to Aliyah but never did.

A handkerchief that smelt of chloroform was placed over her nose. As her eyes drifted shut, she knew then that William and his brother were telling the truth.

Aliyah was indeed Ella.
