Chapter Seven
"So?" Ansela asked Ella, immediately they got to the large parlour.
"So?" Ella returned absentmindedly, since she was busy studying the white and gold parlour.
The place was breathtakingly, beautiful. From the single chair,to the double and gold and white mirror, everything was beautiful. She even loved the table lamps. William really had a great taste.
"Come on Ella." Ansela whined as she plopped on to the double seater dragging Ella down with her.
"What are you talking about?" Ella tore her eyes off the room to stare at Ansela.
Ansela rolled her eyes. "You and Will? In the same car? Does that ring a bell?"
"Your brother and I?" Ella sighed. "Nothing happened. He brought me here because I am his new cook."
Ansela frowned. "His new cook? Why should he make you his new cook? I am going to give that hard head a piece of my mind." She got up from her seat but Ella pulled her back.
"I asked for it,Annie."
"But--" she started to protest.
"But nothing." Ella's eyes willed her to understand. "I will be working here from now on,don't make it hard for me."
"I won't." She grumbled.
"Promise me one thing Annie." Ella held her hand. "Promise me that you won't try any of that matchmaking stuff you did for Cassie and Kaden,on me and your brother."
"They are happily married because of that." She pointed out.
"I know, but that does not mean it's going to work on William and I,which is why I want you to promise me."
Ansela had that mischievous twinkle in her eyes even though she nodded.
"Good."
"What happened to your face?"
"It's nothing." Ella got up from the chair. "Would you mind showing me the kitchen? I may be able to whip something up for supper."
Ansela got on her feet too. "I'll let this pass, but don't think you're off the hook yet. Come with me."
An hour later,Ella, with the help of Ansela, they cooked Spaghetti Bologna and made crème brulé, Ansela's favourite dessert, for dessert.
Together they set the dining table, which made Ella think that she had stepped into some royalty movie. Except that this was no movie and William was no royalty. But the gold and cream designed dining room looked otherwise.
"I wonder what why brother is doing right now." Ansela murmured as she pulled out a chair and settled down on it.
"Resting, maybe." Ella shrugged as she inspected her work. "Does he prefer Tea to coffee?"
"I don't know." Ansela reached for a plate and began to serve herself. "Why don't you ask him?"
Ella's eyes widened. "M-me?"
Ansela frowned at her. "Yes,you. You are his cook as well as his in-law's best friend. I suggest that you go on and call him. I won't always be here, you know?"
"B-but I can't go." She protested.
"He would starve if you don't go." Ansela grinned as she shoved a forkful of spaghetti into her mouth. "If he asks later, then it's on you."
Ella grudgingly agreed that Ansela was right. She won't always be here to call William to come eat. And all that aside,Ella was curious as to how he would act if she steps into his personal space.
Rude?
"What are you waiting for?" Ansela raised her eyebrow as she shoved another forkful of spaghetti into her mouth.
"I don't know where his ro--"
"Second floor. Third room on the right,it's kind of hard to miss." Ansela grinned at her. "No excuse."
Ella threw her a glare before stomping out of the dining room. She would have stopped to admire the white and gold polished grand stairs if she was not angry at the moment.
The stairs looked like something put of a fairy tale, only that it looked real and more polished. Despite her anger, she couldn't help but run her palms over the smooth and gleaming bannister. It felt so smooth and it smelt nice.
Ella pondered on how one would feel if they are truly rich. Happy? Or sad?
Sister Megan, one of the nun's of the orphanage where she grew up, had told them repeatedly that money does not buy or guarantee happiness. Ella had always had that mind set,but what she saw in the outside world changed her mind.
Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it would still make you feel a little happy.
After she turned twenty one,Ella made a promise to herself that she would make sure she works and get rich. If she is going to be rich, then it would come from her sweat. And maybe one day when she is rich, she would look for her parents.
Her shoulders sagged with sadness.
What was she going on about anyway? Her parents obviously didn't want anything to do with her. If they did, they wouldn't have abandoned her in the first place. But Ella wanted to believe that they didn't do it intentionally. Maybe they didn't have enough money to raise a baby. Or maybe her mother was dying, either way,she would find them. Then she would have what she had always wanted.
A family.
That thought cheered her up. Ella squared her shoulder, when she got to the second floor. She located she door Ansela told her and knocked on the door. She frowned when there was no response from within. She tried again and still got no response.
She dropped her hand to her side and turned to leave to get Ansela to call him,but then she reconsidered. If she runs back to Ansela, the girl would think that she harboured feelings for her brother and knowing the type of girl she is,Ansela would act on it. With her already messed up life, the last thing Ella wanted is to be thrown together with someone was in love with her friend.
Summoning courage, she knocked again and just like the first and second try,no response came from within. Feeling a bit annoyed, she tried the door knob and was surprised when it gave way. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her.
She was expecting his room to look like any other part of the house, but she was flabbergasted to see that instead of gold and white, his room was a mixture of black, red and off white. The colour, surprisingly, mixed really well. His scent filled the room and that did unspeakable things to her body.
Not wanting to dwell on it, she moved forward. Her eyes caught on a picture sitting on the night stand table. She moved closer to it and was shocked to see that it was Cassie's,framed, picture
She felt a pang in her heart, but pushed it aside. He must have really loved Cassie. Averting her gaze from the picture, she let her gaze roam about in the room and she found no sign of him. Well, that is,if you ignore the laptop bag on his large bed. Which also meant that this is his room.
"Mr Mckade." She called out but she received no answer.
Moving to the first door on her left, she reached for the knob and pushed it open. She smiled at the sight of the walk in closet. His cologne filled the closet, making her shiver a little. She closed the door a little harder than necessary. Desperate to find him and get out of here, she crossed the room to the door on the right and yanked it open without bothering to knock. She froze and her mouth dropped open in shock. Her hormones went into over drive at the sight that greeted her.
William, his expression the same as hers, stood in front of her, eyes wide and deliciously wet from his recent shower, stood in front of her wearing zero clothes.
Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
Her eyes widened, and of their own accord, fell to his erect member.
"Holy Kamoly."
~*~*~*~*~
Ansela waited until she was sure that Ella was out of ear shot, before whipping her phone out of her pocket. She speed dialed Cassie's number and waited for her to pick it.
She was going to have to break her promise. Chemistry was clearly between Ella and Will even if they are either too blind to see it,or even ignorant to know. Or maybe both.
Ansela was not worried for a bit, because very soon those two would realise it,with her help of course.
After what feels like a journey to the eighteenth century and back,Cassie picked the call sounding really tired.
"Hello? In case you didn't notice, time zones are quite different."
Ansela giggled and rolled her eyes. "Oh Phu-lease. We both know that there's a valid reason for me to call by this time. FYI,it's night here too."
"Better be a good reason, and just so you know it's midnight here in Paris. There is clearly six hours difference in the time zone."
"I know." Ansela snorted. "And it's a very good reason, It's about Will and Ella."
"What?!" Cassie sounded very much awake now,to Ansela's delight.
"They're not a thing. Yet,anyways." Ansela smiled. "They would soon be,which is why I need your help."
Cassie groaned. "In what way?"
"How fast can you book a flight ticket for you and the kids?"
"I would have to ask Kade. Are you going to play match maker again?"
"You bet."
"I hate it when you do that."
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Ansela frowned. "If I remember correctly,my matchmaking skills, brought you and Kaden together. Come on Cassie, don't be such a kill joy,it'll be fun. And I would have ask someone else,but.."
I don't trust anyone because of Amelia. The words hung in the air
Unspoken.
After what Kaden's PA,Amelia aka Sarah, did to them five years ago,it became really hard for the Mckade's to trust anyone who wasn't family.
Cassie sighed. "Okay. I'll get back to you after Kade purchase tickets for us. Until I see you Annie,no tricks."
"O-okay?"
"Annie, what did you do this time? Disguise as a kung fu panda or dressed up like Nicki minaj?"
"No. It's a whole lot better than that."
"What. Did. You. Do?"
"I may and may not have asked Ella to go up to Will's room to get him for supper." Ansela grinned. "And if I guessed correctly, William should be in the shower and since Ella's not back yet,I think they may be...what's that word?... Shagging?."
"Ansela!" Cassie shouted. "Go and search fro her,she might have gotten lost in that gigantic house."
Ansela sighed. "I would. My regards to Ana and Bell."
"Go and find someone else to bother and leave my wife alone."
Ansela laughed when she heard Kaden shout from the other end of the line.
"Kaden bear go to bed." She replied and was rewarded with a grunt. "Bonne Nuit, Cassie."
"Bonne Nuit,Annie."
Ansela leaned against the back of her chair with a sly grin playing on her face. She's no baby sitter, plus Ella is a big girl, and Cassie was joking if she thinks she would do as she says.
Check on her my ass. She mused.
