~Introduction~ (Chapter Zero)

I awake to feel the weight of the silky blanket resting on my chest, while I'm softly resting upon the mattress of the king size bed. I yawned

Another day of training...
I sighed.

My father has been pushing me to become a master at hunting. I'm far from being one, since it seems hitting a moving target in the middle 30 times in a row means I'm almost there. I need to completely master crossbows for me to be able to pass the test, and become a 'Real Saihara Hunter, from the Real Saihara Bloodline'. Those words faintly echo in my head as I go to brush my teeth and comb my hair, before getting dressed and putting a hat on my head.

I always wake up early, like they say, 'The Early Bird Gets The Worm.' Of Course, there are no 'worms' for me to get in a castle. Although my mansion is called a 'castle,' you could get used to your surroundings if you stayed here for two or three days.

I wonder...
I looked out the hall.

The lights are off and everyone is still asleep, Of Course. I close the door and sit near my windowsill, sighing.

Being a vampire hunter is no simple task. And, being from the Saihara Bloodline doesn't make it any better. They have high expectations of you, and your job is to fend off vampires from the town. Of course, I consider myself weak. But my uncle tells me otherwise.

I listen to music and stare out the window a little longer, before finally hearing my alarm go off, for when I was suppose to wake up at. I finally left my room, the hallways lighting up as my maid, Kirumi, turned on the lights.

Slowly making my way to the kitchen, my father sits down at the table as Kirumi makes us breakfast.

Father: Sit down, boy.

I steadied myself and sat down. Whenever someone was in fathers presence, there was always some fear in the air. For me, however, it's a little less fearful. My father is known as a serious person, and a great vampire hunter. He's "passing his knowledge to me." Which is harder than it seems, but I know he's being hard on me because of the responsibility I'm suppose to uphold. The reputation, the stress, my Bloodline, I have to go pass their expectations no matter the cost.

Father: How has your training been going?
Shuichi: I feel I have made progress... but I... I think I could get better.
Father: Good.

We ate in silence.

The day went as usual. My father forcing me to train.. and train... and train... perfecting everything that I've perfected... being the "Best Hunter Of the Saihara Bloodline...."

He said I needed the training, since next week on Wednesday....

The Yearly Feed For The Vampires....

I need to be ready
