Amelia's POV

" So, I asked Sasha out for a date today " My brother Ryan said while cutting the vegetables for the BBQ Dinner.

" Wow ... What did she say ? " My mom asked him with excitement.

" And she said yes." My brother did a little happy dance.

' Kids !! ' I rolled my eyes. My brother is in his senior year in high school. Sasha is the girl, with whom he has a huge crush since his 7th grade.

" She's cute !" My mom commented.

" Hey why don't you invite her for the dinner ? " I asked him.

" Ah ... Great idea. Thank you sis. I'll call her now " he left.

" Hmmm.. So when are you going to call your boyfriend for dinner ? Huh? " Mom asked me.

" Boyfriend..? I'm not dating anyone mom. That word sounds more alien to me." I replied her with a small smile.

I came to my hometown for the Annual BBQ Dinner. Hudson is a beautiful small town, surrounded by beautiful scenery. This place is heaven.

I was born and raised here. My mom owns a small restaurant here, while my dad works as a librarian. Guess that's how I got my passion for reading.

" Mia, Are you planning to be like this? " She asked me loudly.

I was a nerd in high school. Most of the girls from my school were interested in makeup, dress-up and parties. But I was more interested in numbers, calculas and equations. Students used to call me a weirdo. But I felt solving maths problems more easier than to solve boyfriend issues.

" Mom.. can we stop this. " I whispered.

Somehow this conversation reminded me of Aiden. I practically ran out from his office. That evening, I packed my bag and came here.He tried to contact me few times,but I blocked his number. It feels like I'm running away from him, but that's not true. I need some time away from all this mess.

" Alright.. But I'm not done with you. Now go and check the tables in the back area. We will have our guests soon .. " my mom shooed me. I gave her a salute and left the kitchen.

BBQ Dinner is an important tradition that is followed in our hometown for a long time. We invite friends, neighbours and relatives for the dinner. It's something more like a Thanksgiving. There will be food, music and dancing. Sadly, Emily couldn't make it this week because of her work.

" Guess who? " someone whispered near my ears, while covering my eyes from behind.

I recognised him, the second his musk scent hit my nostrils. His voice near my ears, gave me chills.

" Caleb " I said slowly .

He removed his hands and I turned around. There stood my best friend, my crush Caleb James with a charming smile. It's contagious.

" Mia !! It's been a while. How are you? I missed you " he asked me in excitement by giving me a bear hug.

" I'm fine Caleb. And you are c-crushing me." I replied him.

" God!! I'm sorry. Ahh.. Missed your smiling face. You haven't called me for a while. Is everything ok? " he asked me with a smile.

" Yeah.. sorry I got busy with my job hunting."

Caleb works for a law firm in New York.
Yup!! You heard me right. We live in the same city .

" I never expected you to be here for the dinner. Where is Em? "

" Oh.. she got some work in her office. So she couldn't come this week "

" Oh.. okay. Just a minute " he excused himself and moved towards a blonde girl.

' Why ? Why is he soo good-looking!! Does he have abs like Aiden ? His smile is gentle and charming while Aiden has that killer smile. Caleb .. he is definitely handsome and good looking while Aiden, he looks hot and breath taking... Uhmmm.. why am I even comparing Caleb with that jerk ? ' I mentally face-palmed.

" I need a drink." I let out a big sigh

I moved towards the food table and grabbed a berry punch made by my mom.

" Mia, I would like you to meet someone" I heard Caleb's voice behind me. I turned around to see the same girl holding hands with him.

" Jenna ? " I muttered.

" You remember her ? " Caleb asked me while Jenna looked surprised. I gave him a nod.

' Who wouldn't remember her? Jenna Perkins. We went to the same school. Caleb was a senior but Jenna and myself, we were in same class. She was a bitch '

" Meet my girlfriend Jenna. And meet my best friend Mia " he introduced.

" Y-you.. dating her " I asked him in slow whisper. My heart started to sink, by seeing them together.And the next thing happened, surprised me even more.

She hugged me," I'm finally so happy to meet you. Sorry, I couldn't recognise you but Cal has told a lot about you. You must be special to him."

I saw Caleb smiling at us. I gave him a small smile.

" Congrats to both of you. " I said breaking the hug. I once again looked at her. She was perfect,beautiful and elegant.

" CALEB.. " we heard someone calling his name so he left me alone with Jenna.

" Hey girls, Come here. Meet Caleb's friend."

I looked around and saw Brittany and Brianna. They are twins. Their parents are regular customers to our shop.

" Amelia Thompson !! What a pleasure to meet you again." I just waved at them.

" You girls know her ? " Jenna asked them .

" You don't ? That's surprising " Brittany said. Jenna just shook her head.

They started to gossip and chat about their current events in their life. I got bored by listening their life drama. I checked my phone frequently for a call so that I can excuse myself.

" Are you waiting for someone Amelia? Your Boyfriend? " Brianna asked me. I looked away from my phone.

Before I could respond, Jenna said " No.. She is alone . Caleb said she doesn't have a boyfriend. I guess her standards are high. Maybe you should reduce, if you wish to have a boyfriend."

' wow.. Jenna is still a bitch '

When I saw that smirk on her face, I wished to wipe it.

" Oh.. Actually I have a Boyfriend " And I just wiped it with a small lie..

My phone started to ring at that very moment. It's Emily. She was a life saver.

" Excuse me !! I have to take this. It's my boyfriend " I moved few steps away from them.

" Hey babe! So how is dinner without me? I'm missing it. "

" Hey baby.. I miss you " I spoke in seductive voice.

" Uh.. are you okay? What the fuck happened to your voice? "

" I'm good here. How was your day without me baby? "

" Nothing much. Just completed the presentation. And why are you calling me baby ? Oh wait!! you wanna know something, Aiden asked for you."

"Aiden .. ??" I asked her loudly. The girls looked at me like a crazy women.

" Oh Aiden!! " I once again asked her with a giggle.

" y-yeah.. What's with the giggling Mia? Are you ok? And I think he will come to Hudson to meet you. "

Today Morning,mom took me to a mall to shop few things for the evening dinner. While crossing a shop, I noticed a guy just like Aiden. But I couldn't see his face, So I completely ignored it. What if, it was him? What if ? But why would he come to meet me?

" To Hudson?" I again asked out loud. They again looked at my mood change.

" What a lovely surprise... Hey I gotta go now.. I'll see you soon. And I love you. Muah .. " with that I cut my call.

" You girls are having fun ? What are you talking about " Caleb joined us.

" Yeah baby .. Do you know something. Mia has a boyfriend. " Jenna informed him.

Caleb snapped his head towards me.
" Is that true? " He asked me. I just gave him a small nod.

" Wow.. You never said anything about him. So who is he ? " Caleb asked me. I could see a little disappoint in his face for a second but soon it was gone.

I stood there with loss of words. What will I tell him?

" Honey .. Look whom I met today !! " We heard my dad's voice from the entrance.
We followed to the entrance to see who it was.

" Mia ? " I stared at him. He was in shock to see me. It was none other than Aiden Mathews.

' what the hell is he doing in my house '

" Mia ? You know him ? " Mom asked me breaking our stare.

" Tha-that's Aiden Mathews " I stuttered.

" That's Amelia's Boyfriend Aiden " Brittany declared loudly.
