Flawless Wedding Rings-check✅

A "whatever" Attitude-check✅
Yes, that's what my wedding day check list looked like. Though myself and Aiden we both are in this together as a team, I felt nervous and guilty looking at the happy faces around us. If only they knew this was all a part of a fake wedding.
My family reached New York two days ago as they were very excited to see their daughter's big day.
I still remember the day when Helen aka Aiden's mom took me for wedding shopping to choose my dress and it's accessories. I tried almost every dress designed by that famous wedding designer. Aidan was there with us on behalf of his mom's compulsion. But once I started to choose the gowns, he rejected most of the dresses stating it's too revealing, not upto the standard, too simple or too flashy. After a tiresome day we chose a beautiful dress along with shoes. I always believed that good shoes take people to good places. But that was not true, not true in my case. As far as I know Aidan is a good man, but he definitely has his bad side too.
When the wedding preparations began, from wedding cards to banquet halls everything screamed rich and money. In the girl world everyone dreams for a fairytale wedding. My wedding is something like that. Everything was perfect so no one can say it's fake.
This wedding is a win-win for both of us with certain rules which we both agreed I thought there won't be a problem when two of us are in this together.
One year ...
12 months...
365 days...
We act lovey dovey in front of family , give few poses in front of those never tired flash cameras. A year later we can go separate to live our own lives. He gets his company, I get my money to pay those loan sharks. Simple right?
I was wrong. I realized this when Helen gave me a beautiful wedding ring which belongs to Aiden's great grandmother's.
"I want you to have this ring. It was my grandmother's wedding ring. She was happily married to my grandfather for 70 years. I wish the same for you two."
" But.. I.. I can't take this. This belongs to your family." I denied.
" Oh.. Dear.. You are our family. I want my daughter to have this. You belong here Amelia. I'm happy that my son chose an amazing girl like you as his wife. This ring belongs to you now."
And how I felt? Like thousand needles piercing through my heart. Am I worthy to have that ring? Hell No.
"Everything looks perfect and beautiful. And you are gorgeous as always." Emily's voice cut through my thoughts.
"No Em. Still there is one mistake" I whispered.
"Mmm?" She raised her eyebrow.
"This wedding is the mistake" I smiled with guilt in my heart.
As instructed by our wedding planner, the Bridesmaids walked inside the wedding venue followed by Emily , my maid of honor.
I followed her carefully with my head held low and holding my dad's hand. I was nervous and very careful when I took each step towards the aisle. From the corner of my eye, I could see my mom, brother and few of my high school friends along with caleb and his beautiful girlfriend seated together.
This walk felt like I was walking through fire with all the eyes around watching me. I heard someone talking about something, more like a warning . My mind was too blank and failed to concentrate on the conversation.
Suddenly I felt a warm touch and it gave an electric spark, which again made my heart go crazy. I was eager to look at who it was. It was none other than the handsome devil himself.
Aiden Mathews, looking freaking hot and handsome in his well styled tailored suit.I let out a small breath, which I was holding for a long time.I definitely knew I broke many girl hearts today. Him with his gentle smile and handsome looks can make any girl to be his wife. Then why me?
"Why me?" I blurted out without giving a second thought. It came out more like a murmur, only he can hear.
"What?" He looked at me with a smirk.
"What?" I asked him back a little louder when I came back to my senses.
He chuckled.
"You look stunning and beautiful Mia. Now relax." He gave an assuring smile. I can't stand this man, but somehow his presence made me calm and safe.
"Ladies and Gentlemen we are gathered here on this glorious day to witness the union of Aiden Mathews and Amelia Thompson." The officiator spoke.
"Do you Aidan, take this lovely woman to be your lawfully wedded wife? "
" I do " Aidan replied while looking at me.
Why me? Why not someone from his own world. We are completely from different worlds. I clearly don't belong here among these crazy rich people. I always hated attention and attractions. But Aidan, he is used to these. Can I survive in his world ?
" Do you Amelia, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold in sickness and in health till death do you apart? "
Till death? I mean forever with him?
" Babe..? " I heard Aidan's voice. I looked at him and he gave me a concerned look.
" I.. I do." My reply brightened his eyes and he gave me an assured smile once again.
"Now the bride and groom can exchange their own vows." The officiator spoke again.
We exchanged our vows. I should say the wedding planning team did a good job with a heart touching vows.
" Rings..? " He asked, Kane his best man gave us the rings.
" With this ring, I'll be wed. " We both said while exchanging the rings.
" With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. "
This is it. We are married. He is my husband for next one year.
" You may kiss the bride."
Holy smokes.. I totally forgot about this part of the wedding while worrying about other things.
Aiden pulled me little closer towards him and kissed me. His kiss was gentle and filled with certain emotions which I couldn't understand. I could hear cheers and loud roars around us and that's when he broke our kiss.
"Mrs.Mathews.You did a good job today."
He finally whispered near my ear.
