Today was Friday and I was so pumped to leave school today. I didn't get to talk to Brandon at lunch because he had a math test to do. And I will tell you I was very lonely at lunch and barely spoke. But right after the bell rang, I was about to go to my locker but Brandon was already standing there in front of my locker so I could not get in. I just walked over and motioned for  him to move over a bit to get to my locker.

"Whatcha doing by my locker?" I asked, beginning to spin my combo in.

"You any good at laser tag?" he asked pretty nonchalantly

"I don't really know. I played it once with Preston and Rob but they were much better than me."

"Good, because we need another player for two even teams, so you are playing."

"Well, I have nothing left homework wise. But I need to talk to my mom."

"Okay, you need a ride there?"

"Nah, I live a few blocks away so I can just walk."

"Well you are going to need a ride to the arena, so we will walk with you."

"Umm...okay. We can do that."

I said before yanking my backpack out of  my locker.

"Great. I will go get the rest of us and meet you by the front door." Brandon said before literally sprinting off. 

I just took a deep breath and made my way to the stairs and to the front doors. I just stood there like an idiot until I heard a herd of people make their way over. 

"We are here." Brandon said stepping forward.

"Bow peasant." Preston said motioning for me to bow. I just sent him a death glare and said,

"My house is three blocks away." After that, I motioned for them to follow me.

"Do you walk everyday?" Jerome questioned me as we walked away from the school.

"Yep, for years."

"You must have sick legs, you run?" Mitch asked me from the back

"Ha, no. I hate running with a passion." i said turning my back and directing my statement to Mitch.

"Oh, really, huh."

"OH MY GOD. IS THAT A DOG?" 

I heard from behind me as I see Rob start rapidly pointing at the Komondor dog.

"Yes Rob. That is a dog."

"Nah that's a mop." I heard from Lachlan pointing at the long haired dog.

"It's a dog. Her name is Sophie." I said as I continued to walk forward

"oh my god she is ADORABLE." Rob said completely enchanted by the dog.

"She does look like a mop." Brandon said to me as he walked up to where I was.

"I know. That's why they always call her Soapy Sophie."

"Aw that's a great name."

"I know."

" You live in a pretty good neighborhood. I mean like, you have a mop dog." I heard Vikk pipe from behind.

"I mean, I guess I do. Wait here we go my house." I said before opening up our gate and motioning for the boys to follow me in.

"Yo Mat, this is a nice house."

"Um, thanks." I said walking to the front door before checking if it was unlocked . Unfortunately it was so I dropped my backpack on the ground and walked over to the window covers. I found quickly where the hide away key was, and walked back over to the door. I unlocked it and motioned for the boys to enter before going back to the windows and putting the key back. I quickly made my way back into the house when I saw Rob and Preston had already taken off their shoes and were sitting down on my couch. I just rolled my eyes at their gesture before grabbing my backpack and shutting the door.

"MATHEW JOHANNESBURG NUCCIARONE."

I just completely racked my brain of what I had done as I half yelled half asked 

"WHAT?"

Right then, I saw my mom in the kitchen with her back to me as I noticed she was in her scrubs.

"I have to go to work tonight so you can fend for yourself tonight."

"Actually I was going to ask if I could go play laser tag."

"With Rob and Preston again?"

"And my other fiends."

"OH. Okay, you know I want to meet them at some point in time."

"How about now mom?"

Right then, she turned around to see me and the others and from the corner of my eyes, I saw a few of them wave at her. She quickly set down her bag and her paper work before walking over.

"HI MISS.NOOCH."

"Miss Nooch?" Brandon asked looking over at Rob.

"When Rob was younger, he couldn't pronounce Nucciarone. So he shortened it to Nooch." my mom answered.

"Oh okay."

"Nowwwww, who is who? I obviously know Rob and Preston."

"I am Jerome."

"I'm Mitch."

"Soy Brandon."

"I am Vikram, but please call me Vik."

"I am Lachlan."

"Alright, I think I got that. Now, as for you," my mom turning over to me, " you may go laser tagging. If thats even a word. You can grab my cell and call the hospital if you need me. You should have some money and if you want to stay at someone's house, you know the drill. Permission, text, bag, whatever. Okay?"

"Yep. How late are you working?"

"Well tonight I have to watch that old woman who broke her hip and I am scrubbing in on a appendectomy. So, probably, dinner time tomorrow."

"Okay."

"Okay love you." my mom grabbed her stuff and walking over giving me a kiss to the head before heading out.

"Your mom is a doctor?" Lachlan said sounding so surprised.

"She is a general nurse. Anyway, let me go grab some money. Come if you'd like." I said walking through the kitchen door and I heard a few pairs of feet behind me as I started up the stairs. I took a quick glance to see Brandon Mitch and Jerome following me.

I continued on walking over to last hallway to come on a dead end.

"Um, is this your room?"

"No. Its up here." I said as I grabbed the handle on the ceiling.

"You may wanna back up." I said, and as soon as they heard that they stepped back. I quickly swung the stairs down and began to climb them.

"Is this like the part of the movie when we get killed?" Mitch asked as he was the first to follow me.

"I think so." Jerome said behind him.

"Well it's a good thing that I am the last one in the line then." Brandon said as he began climbing the stairs.

Once I got to the top of the stairs and onto solid ground, I reached over and turned on my lights to reveal my decent sized room. I quickly made my way over to my dresser and grabbed my wallet before walking to my closet and looking for a sweatshirt.

"This is your room, because this is sick."

"Yeah I know." I said as I slipped on my hoodie and began to make my way back to the stairs.

"Alright, everyone that is the class field trip. Please find the nearest exit and leave." I said as I pointed to my stairs once again. Mitch and Jerome were soon down the stairs while Brandon was taking his own time. But eventually he made it. 

I quickly shut off my lights before rushing down the stairs. I bent down and grabbed the bottom before lifting the stairs back into position until they popped in. 

"Okay go back, I have to go get my mom's cell." I said turning to the left while the others went back.

I made my way to my mom's room before finding her cell phone, grabbing it and sprinting back into the living room. Vik Lachlan Mitch and Jerome were chatting, while Robert and Preston were making out on my couch.

"Okay love birds stop. Everyone else, back to school." I said as I grabbed my shoes and start to put them back on as everyone else. 

Soon enough, everyone was back in front of my house as I began to get ready to leave. I ushered Rob and Preston out, grabbed my stuff and left the house.
