Shawns point of view
"Thanks for meeting me, Teddy.", I hugged her as she reached me. We were standing in front of the jewellery shop I knew Naddie liked.
"No problem. You know I'm always there for you. But I was just wondering. I thought you already had a ring.", we entered the shop and both started looking around, while I answered:
"Well, I bought one a while ago with my sister, but back then Naddie's style was way different. She was still really shy back then, so I chose the ring considering she didn't want anything that drew attention. But now she's different. She changed a lot, and I know this is on me, always being in the public eye, but I just want everything to be perfect. I already returned the old ring, so..."
I saw Teddy roll her eyes next to me: "You're such a perfectionist. Are you gonna propose to her for real this time? Or is it like the last 1000 times you talked to me about proposing to her but then chickening out at the last moment."
"It's so hard! I'm just scared okay...", I froze in my motion as I found the perfect ring. The last one was plain, tiny stones planted on the thin band, really cute but this one, this one was breathtaking. The diamond in the middle was shaped like a rose and the metal around it twisted around the center like vines. Smaller diamonds shaped leafs. It was just a really beatiful ring.
"Hello Sir, can I help you with something? Are you looking for an engagement ring?"
"I believe I found one already. Can I take it with me right away?"

"Hey babe. Call me back when you get this. When are you gonna be home from work. I wanted to make some dinner and ask you something important. So, well, call me.", I threw myself on my couch, turning on the TV and scrolling through Netflix, trying to find the perfect romance movie to get into the mood.
Why was I so scared to ask her.
I tried asking her to marry me 12 times already, each time I chickened out. For about 1 and a half years I tried to find the courage to ask the woman I love more than anything in my life to stay with me forever. I was such a coward.
After trying to distract myself for 3 hours I got up and made dinner- Spaghetti Carbonara. I wasn't a great cook but Naddie always appreciated it, even if it tasted horrible.
And she was always honest with me.
Suddenly, right when I was draining the noodle water my phone rang. Her face appeared on the screen, her eyes closed, with a huge smile on her face, me kissing her cheek, hugging her tight.
This picture always made me smile. Remembering this moment made the butterflies in my stomach go wild.
"Hey babe. I got your message. What were you planning on telling me?", she sounded cheery when I answered the phone. I heard car sounds in the background: "I can't tell you on the phone. How long until you get here."
"If the traffic stays like this give me 5 minutes, max... Oh my god!", she suddenly said and I tensed up: "What's wrong?"
I heard her hit the breaks hard and ripping the phone towards her. "Shawn", she whispered.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
"Shawn, there is someone standing in the middle of the road with a gun shooting at cars... I think it's a terrorist attack."
