Chapter 5

The guards found me and shoved me inside Dad's office. Great, Rosie and I could have plot and hide from Dad. "Hey Dad." I said faking a smiled and sat down near his desk.
"Where have you been?" Dad asked worried as he hugged me. Sighing a breath of relief.
I cringed when he hugged me tight. Ok, he's not yelling yet. "Dad to tight." I said trying to breathe. Besides, I'm not into a hugs unlike my siblings. "No where." I lied smoothly hoping he'll dropped it.
"Obviously you were somewhere. You took off in the night, and you have garbage in your hair," he said as he pulled out a few hidden pieces. "Spill it."
I winced. I'm so busted by now. "I was in the forest and fell into a mud puddle." I lied again and not find out where I was.
"You didn't. You don't get actual garbage in your hair from a mud puddle. Where were you?"
I winced again once he yelled at me. Why can't I lied straight? "I was in the forest Daddy!?" I cried. "Can't you believe me?"
"I can believe you ran into a forest then somewhere else. Eva, I just want to know where they found you. Either you can tell me or I can get one of the guards to," Dad said.
"Dad, you got to believe me!" I said quickly knowing I suck at lying. Great, I'm so screwed!?
A guard came in and bowed to Dad. "Your Majesty, Officer Harrison and I found your daughter at the rebel base in a dumpster." The guard said informing my father.
I glared at the guard. Great, now the guard told on me. "Lovely, I'm grounded until I'm 18." I mumbled. I turned to the guard. "Thanks a lot, idiot. You ruin my life and told my dad!" I spat so angry and upset.
"Thank you Officer," my father said. He looked at me. "Do you know how much danger where you in!? Not only did you hurt your sister, you could've gotten yourself killed. Do you really want that Eva?"
The guard ignored my protest and left us alone.
I stick my middle finger at the guard and turned to face my father. "I don't care Daddy. Just yelled at me already and send me to my room for all I Care!"
"Oh, you're going to your room alright. I'll make sure that you won't come out either," he said. "Eva, you've crossed the line. You constantly injure, and degrade your sister. Now you run off and almost get killed."
I hang down my head and tears linger down my face. For once, I stayed quiet for a long time. "It's your fault. You ruin my life and make me want to run away and made me feel like I'm not good enough!" I shouted. "I hate you!"
"Eva, you bring this on yourself. I'm just trying to do what I think is right," Dad said in defeat. "But go on and hate me if you want. You're still not leaving the palace."
I glared through my tears. "No, you don't understand! You did this to me and adore Eira!? Let's forget about Eva and focus on the rest of the Pasen kids!" I snapped wiping away my tears.
"Eva, go to your room. I don't want to hear another word about this," he said.
"But Dad, please can you just listen to your second oldest daughter!?" I spat.
"Honey, I've been listening to you. All you've been saying is how much we adore Eira and how much we hate you. Now I'm asking you to listen to me. Your mother and I love all of our children equally."
"No you don't! Don't you dare lied to me!" I said covering my ears and shaking my head. I'm so mad that I want to cut off his head.
My father sighed. "If you're going to act like a child then you're going to be treated like one," he said. Dad walked out of the door and motioned for the guards to come in. "You can either go willingly or by force. You're call."
"Fine!" I said as I got up. I don't need the guards and ran to my room in tears.
"Make sure she doesn't come out until morning," Dad said to the guards.
I ran inside my room. I slammed the door behind me and locked it. I flopped myself in bed and cried so hard it hurts.
