Cassie stood close to me, her face inches away from mine. She placed a hand on my back, but I flinched away. She didn't move her hand.

"Hey..." She murmured with her warm breath tickling my neck. "I'm not going to do anything."

"I know." I said, but tried to twist out her grasp, suddenly uncomfortable.

Cassie didn't let go, in fact, she even grabbed my waist and held me closer, so almost all of my body was pressed up against hers.

I inhaled sharply. My body reacted to hers in a way that made me want to do something reckless. I could feel her smile against my skin.

I shivered, despite the heat that was sparking between us.

Then warmth spread through me as she gently pressed her full lips on my bare shoulder and up my neck to my lips.

Her mouth separated from mine, leaving a feeling of absence, and Cassie led me into a comforting dance.

"I know you're still figuring everything out," she murmured as we swayed, "but whenever, however you need me, I'll be there."

And just like that, she's gone.
