Chapter 16-Planning Of Honeymoon

Sahir was sitting in the hall of the house while Saba was in the room, taking off her jewelry. They have recently come back from the reception. Sahir deliberately remained in the hall with his parents while Saba excused herself to change her clothes.

After getting rid of jewelry and heavy dress, she opened the lock of the door, and laid on the couch with a blanket covering her body and head.

After a few minutes, Sahir came into the room. She could hear him locking the door and moving around the room in her blanket.

Don't know why but her heart started getting heavy and tears welled up in her orbs. Rolling around, she shut her eyes and tried to go into slumber.

After changing his clothes, Sahir sat on the bed, opened his Business Whatsapp to check the messages and rolled away the mobile.

He laid on the bed and tried to sleep but it remained away from his orbs. After trying for half an hour, he sat in his place with frustrated expressions.

The whole situation was making him upset, and the presence of Saba in the room was cracking his nerves.

At last, he thought of writing his novel to avert his focus to anything else.

Opening his laptop in his study, he randomly wrote some scenes and lines in his notepad.

The patriot who gave up his life for the sake of truth was going to be the victim of canceled culture. All was set up and some random issue was going to be discussed in the media and social media. People's attention was going to be averted from the martyrdom of a patriot and soon they are going to be engulfed in a new discussion. This is how politics work!

His fingers were typing furiously as inspiration was hitting him. Whole world's issues melted away, and his passion stood in front of him. Next hour was given to the novel.

…………………..

"Sahir! " Mr. Sikandar called out his name when the whole family was having tea in the lawn. Saba's and Sahir's attention averted toward them.

"I have booked a table for both of you in the five-star hotel. You both are going outside for dinner today." Mr. Sikandar announced with a smile on his face.

But, their eyes rounded and hearts skipped a beat.

"Dad, what is the need of it?" Sahir said in a bit of a protesting tone while trying to keep a smile on his face.

"Yes Dad, I want to spend time with both of you," Saba also added with a smile.

"My child! I want both of you to spend time with each other. You both have the right to enjoy your life. And this is a small gift from me" Mr. Sikandar said, at which they both glanced at each other's faces.

Saba was getting anxious while Sahir was fearing that someone would see them in the hotel.

........................

This time Saba became more careful. While she was getting ready, she properly locked the door of the dressing room.

Someone knocked on the door. Saba set her hijab hurriedly and then opened the door. Mrs. Amna was there while Sahir was also standing beside him.

"Saba, Which dress are you going to wear?" Mom asked her, at which she told her that she hadn't decided yet.

"This! Wear this Saba! " Mom checked her wardrobe and gave her a dress which she accepted with a smile.

.......................

Ride to the restaurant was silent. They both were in their worlds of thoughts and anxieties. When they reached the restaurant, Sahir asked the waiter about their booking.

"This way Sir"

The waiter led them to the poolside where a fancy setting table was present. Sahir sighed on seeing the setting. And Saba, her eyes were wide opened with awe. The table and decoration were in the theme of black and red. It was at the poolside and the roof was above the table. Lights were focused on the table and darkness was present around it giving a romantic aura to the table. Saba had never seen such settings except on the T.V.

Now, she understood why Mom especially asked her to wear a red frock and black hijab. She also asked Sahir to wear black pants coat with a red tie.

Sitting there while the breeze was hitting them, the scent of fresh flowers present on the roof wafting their beings and the view of the poolside, the whole scene was sending tingles into their bodies.

It was a bit private so there was no one around them. Privacy, romantic aura and be with your lover; Saba's heart was blooming with happiness.

Waiters gave them a menu card.

"What would you like to eat? " Sahir asked her at which anxiety kicked over her. Her mind was getting numb with all the feelings that she didn't know how to respond.

"The order which you give, I will also take it" She answered. "Sure? He asked while glancing into her orbs.

"Yes " Nervousness was flooding in her veins.

"Ok" Sahir ordered the dinner. When the waiter was gone, they both started to see around, avoiding each other's gaze. Silence and scent was making them nervous now. Sahir started scrolling his social media feed but his gaze kept going toward Saba whose gaze was toward the pool. A smile was on her face while she seemed to be in deep thoughts.

"You love the view?" Sahir asked with a soft voice. At last, he decided to break the silence. Dinner would take time and Sahir was getting mad with silence. Also, his fear subsided that someone would see them as they were in private. So, he decided to kill time in a better way. .

"I love this all! Have you seen this view!! I am getting absorbed in this beauty. It is so amazing Ma Sha Allah! At this time I am wishing.... "

Excitement flooded in Saba's nerves so she instantly responded with glinty orbs. But, instantly she stopped herself from completing the sentence and became hesitant.

"Speak. Why do you stop?" Sahir wanted her to speak. But then, he saw hesitation on her face and decided to stop the conversation. He also didn't want to break the ice completely so that plan of divorce didn't change.

A few minutes passed in the silence which was broken by the mobile's ring of Sahir.

"Enjoying?" Mr. Sikandar asked him with enthusiasm in his tone. "Yes Dad! Thank you so much!" Sahir tried to keep his tone joyful.

"Take a lot of your pictures! We want to see them!" Mr. Sikandar demanded at which his eyes rounded.

"Ok dad."

He mumbled while frustration pumped in his nerves. Putting his mobile aside, he told Saba the demand of Mr. Sikandar. Her eyes rounded and heart skipped a beat. This whole scenario was making her uncomfortable now.

"It is just for their happiness" Sahir shrugged while keeping his attitude nonchalant. He didn't want this dinner to affect their feelings and decisions.

There was also a waitress, so Sahir gave her his mobile and asked her to take pictures. She took some pictures while they were sitting on their seats, but then she asked them to stand and stood close for a new angle of pictures.

They both stood while blush was on their cheeks and nervousness in their posture. Saba's hands were shivering a bit while she stood close to Sahir. Their fragrances engulfed and wafted their beings. As soon as the waitress clicked the picture, they made some distance.

Those moments were not only captured in the mobile but also in their hearts. Later that night, Saba was lying on her couch and staring at sleeping Sahir.

Dinner's and pictures' moments were running in her head while a smile crept on her face and a shimmer came in her orbs. Love had taken its place in her heart, but unfortunately it didn't find its way to Sahir's heart.

"I started to love you Sahir! I don't know how I will tolerate the grief of our divorce." She thought, and a tear rolled down on her cheek.

He was her ideal, her husband and she had all the right to love him. That's why thinking of parting ways with him was disturbing for her.

.....................

Next day, Mr. Sikandar and Sahir were having a morning walk. It was a part of their routine to have a small walk after Fajr.

"So, how is your married life going on?" Mr. Sikandar asked at which he was taken aback a bit.

"It is good but I am worried about my future plans. I am afraid marriage and her presence will spoil them."

Sahir replied with a shrug while his heart was beating furiously. It was wise to give parents small red signals before divorce.

"She is mature, Sahir. You should share your plans with her. Maybe she can help you to accomplish your goals." Mr. Sikandar said with a shrug.

"How can she help me?" Irritation took over his body.

"Don't judge her, Sahir. It is only four days of your marriage and you had made a scenario of her in your mind. Give her a chance!" Mr. Sikandar said in a rebuking tone and halted his steps and turned toward Sahir.

"Look Sahir, Nikkah is not a small thing. Nikkah means that the rights of a human being have been given to you! And you have accepted it by making Allah and Prophet (P.B.U.H) your witness. You can't take this thing lightly. Allah created this relationship and there is His wisdom in it. Stay calm and optimistic and give your relationship time. Ultimately, you will start realizing

Allah's wisdom in this relationship."

Mr. Sikandar put his hands on his shoulder and he saw a flash of concern in his father's orbs. He sighed and nodded his head.

"Yeah, I understand. I was just sharing my feelings with you." "I know, Sahir." Mr. Sikandar patted his shoulder and smiled at him.

These words were echoing in his ears while he was seeing Saba packing her belongings for visiting her mother's house. She was going for one night, and Sahir was waiting for her to complete her packing. While gazing at her running around his room, thoughts were running in his mind.

"Everything can settle if there was no past love and insecurities it gave." His heart spoke to him at which he took a deep sigh.

"I am ready." Her voice took him out of his thoughts. He nodded his head and took the keys from the side table.

………………….

Later on, when darkness engulfed Islamabad and the moon shone in the sky, Saba was sitting on her bed with her laptop and was staring at the screen with a scowl.

Two lines were written on the screen and they were having a lot of spelling mistakes. Saba was staring at them with frustration and shook her mind to make it alert. But, it kept on drifting toward Sahir and life's issues she was facing at this moment.

"This scenario will destroy my career and studies." She murmured to herself while helplessness seeped into her nerves. Instantly, a notification from Fiverr popped on her screen. She opened it and it was a notification for Fiverr brief. She was suitable for the job, but her mind was unable to work at this moment.

She switched off the laptop and took her mobile to message her friend. She was going to outsource the project. Tears stung her orbs and a desire to weep her heart out hit her.

"She was standing beside her so-called husband and giving a wide smile to the businessman in front of her. Being a trophy wife, she knew her job. She had to seduce the business man, had to spend time with him and made him finalize the business deal with her husband.

It was another dark aspect of the elite class where wives are shared with other men for business purposes.

Hence, it is proved that women of every sector are assaulted in one way or another."

While writing these lines, his heart trembled and he shut the laptop screen at the instant. Saba's nervous and fearful face flashed in front of his orbs and guilt seized his heart. His eyes trailed toward the vacant couch at which a shiver ran down his spine.

Guilt and fears were weighing him down while he held his head in between his hands. War of heart and mind again started, crushing his mental peace.

Helpless tears shone in his orbs.

………………..

It had been two days since she came back from her parent's house. Since morning, she was feeling low and tired. Anxiety and lack of mental peace was having a toll on her body now. Pessimistic thoughts kept poking her while she imagined her career and personal life getting in pieces.

Shooking all the pessimistic thoughts, she laid down on her bed and tried to sleep. But, then the maid came and told her that Sahir's cousin had come, so Mrs. Amna was calling her. She sighed heavily and went downstairs.

Meeza was in the lounge with her signature cool smile on her face. Her easygoing and frank nature made Saba relaxed, and they both started having chats with each other.

"How is your married life going on?" Meeza asked mischievously. Saba gave her a fake smile.

"Meeza, don't disturb my daughter! She becomes so red at such questions"

Mom said with a hint of humor at which Saba smiled at them while swallowing the lump of her tears. They were laughing and joking while she struggled to keep a smile on her face.

At lunch time, Sahir came home and joined the family at the dining table. " Sahir, What both of you have decided about your honeymoon?"

Meeza asked excitedly at which they both stared at each other, with horrified expressions.

"Why are both of you staring at each other? Tell us the answer." Amna also asked them.

"Actually... We have not yet decided. After a week Uni will open and we both will become busy. So maybe after this semester." Sahir answered with a smile at which Saba lowered her gaze. She kept on staring at her plate while beating her pessimistic thoughts.

"After the semester, divorce will be finalized".

"What are all of you talking about? " Mr. Sikandar came to the table and asked with a smile.

"Sahir is saying that they will go for vacation after six months," Meeza told him.

They will go on their honeymoon after six months. But tomorrow, they are going for their mini-honeymoon."

Mr. Sikandar said with a smile. This made Sahir choke on his drink and Saba's eyes rounded on listening to this.

"Really! Where? " Meeza asked.

"They are going to the northern areas for five days! I have booked your rooms in different areas." Mr. Sikandar replied.

"Tomorrow is not possible. I am not feeling well, so it is not possible for me. " Saba said while panic started settling on her nerves.

"It's ok! Today you take full rest and I will do your packing and Sahir will do his own packing. Ok Sahir! " Meeza suggested with a friendly tone at which her resistance died away.

"Ok!" Sahir had no other option.

"This thing ok with you Saba?" Mr. Sikandar asked with concern. "Yes, Dad! " Saba assured him with a tight smile.

"Ok, Meeza go and do her packing. Saba, you should sleep in the guest room. There no one will disturb you. And Meeza will do your packing in your room" Mom ordered her.

She nodded meekly at Mom and glanced at Sahir's direction whose gaze was on the plate.

..........................

Saba went to the guest room to have a nice and long sleep. After two hours of sleep, she came into her room to find her bags were packed. Sahir was still doing his packing as he remained in the lounge when Meeza was packing.

"Do you need any help with packing? " Saba asked hesitantly at which Sahir gazed at her, who had a dupatta draped around her head. Rarely, he could see her hair as it remained covered in dupatta the whole day and at night, she remained in her blanket.

Seeing her hesitant and tired face, Mr. Sikandar's words echoed in his head and guilt again seized his being.

"Thank you, Saba. But,I will manage. You please go and take more rest because tomorrow we have to leave". Sahir said while stepping near her and putting his hand on her forehead to check the fever. Saba closed her eyes at this while his fragrance wafted her nostrils.

"Thank God there is no fever. You should take some more rest so that you can enjoy tomorrow's trip" He stepped back and said politely at which she nodded her head.

After changing the clothes, she went to the couch to sleep when Sahir's voice halted her steps.

"Saba, You will sleep on the bed today and I will manage on the couch" Sahir said.

He was feeling that Saba needed more rest which she couldn't get on the couch. "No, it's ok! I got used to the couch". Saba said in a low voice.

"Please sleep in bed, Saba. I will not like it that you will sleep on the couch in illness".

There was concern and politeness in his tone at which Saba became stunned.

Tears welled up in her eyes but she blinked them away and nodded her head. Sahir saw tears in her irises at which guilt hit him hard. He averted his gaze from her and tried to avert his attention toward the packing. After a long one

hour, he succeeded in completing his task, and went toward the couch with his blanket and pillow.

Lying on the bed, a smile crept on her face. Expectations started building in her heart and excitement for the honeymoon kicked her nerves. She turned her face toward Sahir whose face was toward her. Gazing at the sleeping face, she smiled while a glimmer of hope was in her orbs too.

She was anxiously waiting for the honeymoon trip now.
