[Nino's POV]

It's Saturday morning...ish. I may have slept in a little. I wanted to check up on Alya but she isn't home so I've just gone out on patrol instead. Maybe I should talk to Ladybug, she is supposed to be organising Alya's protection today. I'll feel more at ease once I know that everything has been organised.

So, I head towards Mayor Bourgeois' hotel. That's where the Bourgeois family lives but maybe Ladybug is meeting with the Mayor in the city hall. That would probably make more sense...

Just I decide to turn around, I bump into someone. Nathaniel seemed to be leaving the hotel with his eyes glued to his sketchbook as usual.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm having a clumsy day." Nathaniel apologises.

"That's alright." I smirk as I eye Nathaniel's flushed face. "Visiting Chloe were you?"

Nathaniel's blush deepens. "Yes, she's my classmate but she has been absent from school for a couple days."

Come to think of it, Chloe has been absent ever since the whole hostage incident.

"I wouldn't be surprised if her dad didn't want her to return to school after that attack." I ponder aloud. "Is she okay?"

"Yeah," Nathaniel answers. "Actually she had fallen ill. It seems she's been pushing herself too hard."

"Doing what?" I scoff.

Nathaniel's eyes flicker down to his sketchbook nervously. "I wonder..."

"Well, I guess I'll see ya around dude." I say before walking off towards the city hall.

I happen to arrive just as Ladybug is leaving.

"Ladybro!" I greet spiritedly.

Ladybug snorts. "Cat Noir's given me a lot of silly nicknames over the years but boy that puts his to shame."

I laugh as I walk alongside Ladybug. I guess once the shock settled in I got really comfortable around her, knowing she is Marinette.

"So, how did the meeting go?" I question.

"The Mayor is going to put Alya's family in a safe house." Ladybug answers.

"That's good." I say in relief.

"Anyone out on patrol with you?" Ladybug asks.

I shrug in response. "I came straight here to find you."

"Well, walking sure is tiring. Would you like a Ladybug lift?" Ladybug smirks and holds up her yoyo.

My eyes sparkle with excitement. I've never flown around the city with Ladybug before-this is definitely a hero experience you want!

"Are you sure I won't be too heavy?" I ask, my voice dropping slightly.

"Psh!" Ladybug goes ahead and grabs me around the waist. Without even answering, she slings her yoyo and pulls us away.

"WOOHOO!" I holler happily.

I was right. This is the most fun thing ever. It's funny thinking that this is petite Marinette carrying me, but I suppose the super suits do up our strength a little. Still, my shield must be a bother.

"What's going on down there?" Ladybug asks, a slight tone of annoyance in her voice.

I follow her gaze to see Cat Noir talking to some girl in the park. Before I know it, Ladybug has landed us and gone striding up to join them while I stand aside awkwardly.

Marinette...just what are you doing? I watch uncomfortably as Ladybug intervenes with the conversation, even going as far as flirting with Cat Noir a little. I know they are close but...sometimes it really seems like she has a crush on him. But Marinette and Adrien are meant to be-I know it!

"U-Um! I was wondering if you...do you...W-Would you like to go out some time?" The girl asks nervously.

"Oh...actually, I'm terribly sorry but my heart is already taken." Cat Noir replies.

The girls eyes well up with tears but she still smiles through them. "Th-That's okay, I can wait..." She says before turning to leave.

Poor girl. That's what happens when you're as charming and flirtatious as Cat Noir, you gotta break some hearts. But...I guess he is serious when it comes to Ladybug.

"Hmm, what a devoted admirer." Ladybug says, pursing her lips.

"Well, it's a shame she'll have to wait forever because I'm never leaving you, bugaboo."

Cat Noir snakes his arm around Ladybug's waist and pulls her into him. My heart lurches. My body moves forward protectively but I stop myself from stepping in. Ladybug can handle herself. I trust Marinette. She seems awfully captivated in Cat Noir's eyes though, and she is blushing softly...but she, she loves Adrien. It's okay. Everything is fine.

Cat Noir smirks and presses his lips against Ladybug's. I watch, gutted with shock, as Ladybug returns the tender kiss.

Oh no.

No.

It's not okay.

EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE!

I stumble backwards before running away from the scene. I can't watch this. I don't want to see it, the scene that would break my best friend's heart. I can't witness Marinette becoming a cheater.

This...This is not right. This is not happening! Marinette loves Adrien, doesn't she? What if I was right about her planning to leave him for Cat Noir? But why hasn't she done it yet? Why is she stringing him along while she fools around with Chat behind his back? This can't be. Marinette is so kind...no. I hate this! I hate all these damn secrets, I can't handle keeping another one! I can't keep this from my best friend. Adrien deserves to know! Oh, but what am I gonna tell him? I can't tell him Marinette is Ladybug but he does know that she is friends with Cat Noir...Oh no no no, I can't do it. I can't dog Marinette like that, she's my friend-but she dogged Adrien! AH!

A sudden thought has me stopping dead in my tracks. I look down at my green, gloved hands.

I'm Carapace. I'm not friends with Marinette or Adrien, I'm just a concerned third party. Nino doesn't have to get involved at all.

Okay, it's decided.

I begin sprinting off towards Adrien's house. I really don't want to be there to see his face when he get his heart broken, but...I'm his friend. I have to do this.

It takes some effort for me to climb up the wall of Adrien's house. I pull myself up and through the window, stumbling into his empty bedroom. Just as I catch my breath, I notice a black figure approaching in the distance.

My eyes widen in fear. It's Cat Noir! W-What is he doing here? Has he come to stop me from telling Adrien? Ah, he can't know I have any connections to this. I need to get out of here!

I rush over to the closest door to me, yank it open and hide away inside. My heart is pounding. I shuffle to the very back of the tiny space to hide in the corner. Just as I think I am safe, I feel something that makes my blood run cold. Just as I thought that I was alone...I felt a breath on my neck that made my hairs stand on end.
