CH62 Love Square Intensifies x2
[Marinette's POV]
After coming home from the Jagged Stone concert, I flop down onto my bed in exhaustion.
"What do I do? I just spent hours with Adrien and all I could think about was Cat Noir." I curl up and burry my face into my pillow. "Why hasn't he come to visit me yet? I miss him so much..."
I miss baking with him. I miss his stupid puns and his cheeky grin. I miss the way he looked at me with his gorgeous green eyes. I miss the way he held me with his strong arms. I miss his touch...his warm hugs and his gentle hands. And ever since New Years, I have missed the touch of his soft lips.
"There, there, Marinette." Tiki pats my head comfortingly. "It's okay to be confused."
"But that's just the thing, Tiki. I'm not confused. I should be, but I'm not, a-and that's what scares me." I say. "I love Adrien, I know that I still do, so I should feel torn. But I don't. My heart is screaming for Cat Noir. It's almost overwhelming how strong my feelings for him are. I know exactly what I want. If anything, I'm just confused about not being confused."
"But you've loved Adrien for so long, are you really ready to just let go?" Tiki asks.
"That's what I'm afraid of..." I answer. "Adrien is so kind and compassionate and amazing. He is a beautiful person and I know he deserves someone to love, which I thought was me, but...I've been chasing after him for years now. I've realised that Adrien isn't the only one who deserves someone to love, I do too. And Cat Noir gives me that love. He has always been there for me, loving me unconditionally with or without the mask. As much as I love Adrien, I think it's time I allowed myself to love someone who will make me happy. But, I think I'll need some time to let go. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to yet..."

[Adrien's POV]
School has been rough. It's so hard spending hours with Marinette trying to restrain myself from snatching her up in my arms. I haven't visited her as Cat Noir in a whole month. I couldn't after New Years, I still don't know what to do with my feelings. For now I've decided to take a relaxing walk outside to collect my thoughts.
"How is it even possible to love two people at once?" I ask Plagg. "How on earth am I going to choose between them?!"
"You think I know anything about love?" Plagg retorts. "Why don't you ask your anime for help?"
I frown at Plagg. "Okay, what if you had to choose between to equally nice slices of camembert? Then what would you do?"
"I wouldn't have to choose, I would just eat them both." Plagg answers.
"I can't have both Ladybug and Marinette!" I say in frustration.
"Debateable." Plagg replies.
"Skateboarding is my passion! You'll never understand!"
I turn to see a boy charge out of home with a skateboard in hand. He throws it on the ground, jumps on and skates away. My eyes widen when I saw a black butterfly fluttering after him.
"This conversation is to be continued." I say to Plagg. "We have to transform."
[Narrator's POV]
Marinette is sitting at her desk, scrolling through the LadyBlog and admiring Cat Noir. She misses him so much it hurts. If this past month has taught her anything, it's how much she desperately needs to be with him.
"All the time we had spent together came rushing up into one fleeting moment. There were so many amazing emotions sparking in that one passionate kiss. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Kissing him just felt so...right." Marinette sighs. "But maybe Cat Noir didn't feel the same...Maybe I weirded him out. He hasn't come to visit me since. What if I messed up, Tiki?"
"Cat Noir has been in love with Ladybug for a long time, just as you have been in love with Adrien. He will need to sort out his feelings." Tiki says.
"If he even has any..." Marinette responds glumly.
Though, how could she blame the boy for being confused. Marinette's wall of Adrien photos still remains because she didn't have the heart to take them down. The most painful part of it all is that whilst Marinette is struggling with loving two people at once, she is sure that neither boys are thinking of her...
A familiar voice from outside has Marinette jumping up from her seat.
"Chat!" She exclaims. "Tiki, spots on!"
Marinette's room lights up as she transforms into Ladybug. The now transformed superhero climbs out of her room and jumps off her balcony onto the street below. A boy on some crazy hoverboard is harassing Cat Noir.
Ladybug stands and stares in awe as Cat Noir fights the villain. His lustrous, golden locks flow in the wind as he runs, jumps and kicks. His soft skin glistens with sweat, his bright green eyes narrowed with concentration.
Ladybug's heart pounds longingly. Happiness bubbles up inside of her just by seeing him again. A smile stretches across her lips as she throws her arms around Cat Noir. "Chat!"
Cat Noir is completely taken back by Ladybug's sudden show of affection. "H-Hey there, LB. What's gotten into you all of a sudden?" He asks awkwardly.
Ladybug pushes away from Cat Noir, her cheeks turning red. "W-Well we haven't seen each other in quite a while." She says, fiddling with her hair. "I...I just missed you is all."
"Oh," Cat Noir blushes. "I...missed you too?"
Ladybug smiles and gazes into Cat Noir's beautiful, emerald eyes. Her heart melts at the sight of his perfection.
Cat Noir shifts uncomfortably, feeling flustered under Ladybug's gaze. His heart won't stop racing. Ladybug is acting so cute all of a sudden, he can't get his thoughts together.
"Chat..." Ladybug says softly.
"Watch it!" Cat Noir yells as he pushes Ladybug aside.
The skater had torn a parking meter out of the ground and thrown it at the two heroes. It barely misses Ladybug before she hits the ground with a thud.
"Sorry Ladybug, but we should focus on this fight." Cat Noir says. "That hovercraft is an akumatized skateboard. I've already used my cataclysm and my miraculous is running out. Could you help me out?"
"Oh, right, yes." Ladybug stammers. "L-Lucky charm!"
Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air and conjures up a spotted towel.
"What good could cloth be in a fight?" She complains.
The skater zooms towards Cat Noir on his hovercraft and uses the metal board to smack him over the head. Cat Noir falls to the ground and groans. He clutches the back of his head as he pulls himself up, only to get knocked down again.
"Cat Noir!" Ladybug yells, jumping onto the back of the hoverboard.
She clutches both ends of the towel and throws it around the skater's head like a blindfold. He rages and claws at the towel, the hovercraft whizzing around wildly.
"Woah!" Ladybug calls out as she struggles to stay balanced on the board.
It is then that the hoverboard's fan-like engines flash red in Ladybug's vision, telling her what to do. Ladybug leaps off the back of the board and lets go of the towel, allowing it to get sucked into the engine. The towel twists in the metal fans, forcing them to a stop. Black puffs from the engine before the hoverboard suddenly bursts apart, sending the skater flying through the air.
"No more evil doing for you, little akuma." Ladybug says as the black moth flutters from the wreckage. She opens up her yoyo and slings it at the akuma. "Time to de-evilise!" Ladybug scoops up the akuma and releases it as a purified butterfly. She then collects her spotted towel and throws it up in the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!"
The pile of metal scraps that was once a hovercraft turns back into a skateboard, with its rider sitting on the ground not too far away.
"Chat, are you okay?" Ladybug asks worriedly.
"Yeah," Cat Noir smiles and holds up his fist. "Pound it?"
His cute little smile has Ladybug's heart fluttering. She smiles bashfully before gently bumping his fist. Cat Noir's miraculous beeps as another paw disappears, instantly draining Ladybug's happiness.
He brings two fingers to his forehead and salutes her. "Gotta run."
Ladybug reaches her hand out as Cat Noir vaults away on his staff. Her heart sinks as she turns to go home.
Ladybug drops into her room just as her miraculous times out, slumping down into her desk chair as Marinette. Tiki comes flying out from her earrings and cuddles up in the crook of her neck.
Marinette sighs heavy-heartedly. "Why do I feel so pathetic? This isn't like Ladybug at all, I could barely concentrate on the fight!"
"I know, Marinette." Tiki says softly. "Who would have thought, huh? After all this time, you've fallen for the cat."
Marinette clasps her hands over her blushing face and groans. "I know! What's the matter with me? He probably doesn't even like me back. He hasn't visited Marinette in a month and he is even acting strangely around Ladybug."
"I'm sure you're just overthinking things." Tiki consoles her.
Marinette drops her hands and stares up at the ceiling. "Maybe you're right..." She says slowly. "Maybe...Maybe I'm just being stupid. I've been acting like a lovesick school girl for too long, waiting around for Adrien to love me. If Cat Noir won't come to me then...then maybe I'll just go to him!"
