Author's Pov:

It was their wedding day. Everyone were busy with the guest while the couple were eagerly waiting to see eachother.

"Y/n, I just saw Vernon", Harin rushed inside, "He is looking awesome". Y/n's eyes shined, "Really?". Harin nodded, "Aww, look at that shining eyes. You are so in love with him, already", she teased. Y/n sat, "How long do I have to sit here". Harin shrugged her shoulders and said, "Just like you, he is going crazy to see you in his wedding dress".

"Y/n, are you ready? Soon you will be called", Mrs.Kim came in and caressed her hair, "You have all grown up". She smiled.

After some time her father and Seungcheol came too, "Like I always said, you are looking like your mother, you are beautiful my daughter", her father pinched her cheeks. Y/n could see tears forming in his eyes.

Seungcheol stood at the side seeing his sister. No matter how much they fought, his sister was his life. He loved her more than anything. "Everyone talked to me except you", Y/n said.

Y/n went towards him, "Don't tell me you are crying". He shook his head and looked at her, "Always be happy, Y/n", was the only thing he said. Y/n didn't say anything and just smiled. She knew her brother very well. "Ahem, it's time for us to go, Y/n, you ready?", her father said.

Her father gently rubbed her hands, "Don't worry you are looking stunning. I just hope Vernon doesn't go crazy seeing you". The doors opened. All eyes were on her. Y/n took a deep breath and looked at around seeing some of their old friends.

He was looking down but soon his eyes met hers. A smile spread on both the faces. Both kept looking at eachother until she reached there. Her father handed her hands to Vernon's, "I have always treated her like a princess and I can see you are treating her like that too. Please take care of her. I wish you both to be happy".

After completing all the rituals, it was time for guests to meet them. One by one all were meeting them until,

"I hope you remember me", Mrs.Hwang came. Areum was no where to be seen. Y/n smiled politely, "Of course I do".

"Well, congratulations on your wedding. You are looking beautiful today. I must say you are beauty with brains", she said. Y/n heard a lot people saying this but coming this from Mrs. Hwang didn't feel right but still she smiled.

While talking Areum came having a glass of wine in her hand, "Oh, Eomma! I was searching for you-", she walked towards mother. Her glass slipped from her hand and the wine was about to fall on Y/n's dress but luckily Vernon pulled her back.

"Opps, sorry. I didn't mean to. Is your dress okay?". Before Areum could touch the dress, Vernon stopped her, "You better not touch her", his eyes glaring right into her soul. Areum withdrew her hand seeing Vernon's sharp gaze.

"Vernon, you don't need to be rude to her. She didn't do it intentionally", Mrs. Hwang scowled. "You don't know what she has done", Vernon said.

Mrs. Hwang scoffed, "She just kissed you, no need to make a huge fuss it of it". Y/n looked at here in disbelief. She was quiet because there were a lot of guests. Y/n took Vernon's hand and shook her head indicating not to do anything.

"Let him speak Y/n, don't stop him. Don't try to control him", she said. Areum stood quite seeing her mother strike an argument with them.

Y/n was smart enough to know what the mother and daughter duo were thinking. Y/n in a polite tone said, "Aunty, can we please talk about that later? There some guests who still want to meet us".

Mrs. Hwang shook her head, "I won't forget how you mistreated my daughter".

"Can you please move some guest still want to meet them", Mingyu chimed in. "I am going, let's talk about that later", she said and started walking away but was stopped by Mingyu,"I hope you are not offended otherwise you might again try to do something in Y/n's company, just like before. Hope you remember what happened after that", Mingyu gave her a smile.

Y/n stifled a laugh as Mrs. Hwang's face was funny. She rolled her eyes and went back. "Thank you for saving us", Vernon said. "No worries bro. She trying to initiate a fight and everyone could see it", Mingyu smiled, "I have some work. I'll come back".

Y/n and Vernon got busy with their guests while Mingyu's eyes were searching for a specific person. A hand grabbed his, it was Areum, "Come with me". Mingyu didn't argue and followed her.

"As we had decided, you agreed to help me but why did you help her?", Areum whispered shouted. "I never said I'll help you Areum, if you remember".

Flashback:

As Areum had messaged before Mingyu decided to meet her. He didn't get good vibes by seeing her message at mid-night.

"Why did you message me? What do you want to talk about ?", he asked. "Take a seat Mingyu", Areum said. Her eyes were swollen. "What happened to you?", he whispered. "None of your business".

"I want your help. After 2 days, it is Y/n's wedding", Mingyu sensed danger. "Don't day that you are planning something", Areum nodded without hesitation. "Mingyu, I know,-", Mingyu stopped her, "Areum, I had warned you before, today too I am warning you, if anything is going on in your mind, stop, just stop".

Areum chuckled, "Why should I? Mingyu, I liked you but you? You liked her. I liked Vernon but he too loves her. He kissed her infront of my eyes. He said he liked her. The only boys I have ever developed feeling for is you and Vernon but you both liked the same girl. Why should I always be the second one, Mingyu? Why always me? She slapped me and I still can't get over it. I have a plan, just listen to me once".

"You always knew, Areum that we have always treated you as our sister, it was you who made the things more complicated then it was", Mingyu said.

Mingyu calmed down and said, "What your plan is?". Areum smirked, "I just want people to know how angry she can be. She slapped me because I kissed her fiancée then imagine how much angry she will be if I talk bad about her mother. I'll do everything, the only thing you need to do is stand by my side. I want people to talk bad about her".

"What would I get from this?", Mingyu furrowed his brows. "You think Y/n's father will let this happen? The family insulted his daughter. What about Vernon's mother? She would be angry, she needs everything to be perfect. They will definitely end the wedding on the spot".

"How are you so sure about it?"

"Just trust me, Mingyu", Areum gave her evil smile. But Mingyu could say anything his phone rang, after hanging up the call he left saying there was an urgent work.

Present:

"I never agreed with you Areum, I just left. I will make sure that your plans fail. But why should I? Aren't they already married now. Lawfully they are husband wife now", Mingyu smirked. Areum let out a scoff, "Even you did the same thing. Now just wait and watch", Areum pushed Mingyu and went away.

"What were you talking about?", Siwoo asked. He was seeing Mingyu and Areum's argument but couldn't hear anything. "I'll tell you everything later. Now, make sure Areum or her mother doesn't come near Y/n or Vernon. Tell this to others too".

Siwoo just nodded knowing Mingyu knows something. He alerted Yuna, Jisoo and Soojin.

Meanwhile,

"Y/n-ah, I am so happy. You are just like my daughter, seeing you getting married is just..", Mrs. Kim was on verge of tears. "Aww, don't cry, if you cry then I might end up crying too", Y/n said and wiped the tears.

"Your mother would have been so happy", Mrs. Kim whispered. Y/n smiled. Since morning she heard everyone talking about her mother. Y/n smiled sadly.

She felt a warm grip on her shoulder. "Y/n, you must be missing your mother, everyone are talking about her here. I haven't seen her or met her but I am thankful that she gave birth to a strong lady like you", Vernon's mother smiled and kissed Y/n's forehead, "You are just like my daughter. How Vernon is for me in same way you are too, may be I am quite partial towards you". Y/n laughed.

"I won't be shocked if I get to know that I am adopted", Vernon said. "Shut up", his mother smacked his head and hugged both Y/n and Vernon, "My children".

"How can you be so happy and act like nothing happened, Vernon?", Areum said. Vernon took a deep breath hearing her voice. "What is your problem, Areum? Can't I have a single moment with my family?", Vernon sounded irritated.

"Aunty", Areum hugged Vernon's mother arm, "Y/n slapped me, right on my cheek". Y/n sighed, "Why don't you tell the reason too so that she wouldn't misunderstand". Siwoo felt the tension between them and called Mingyu.

"She didn't do anything Y/n, it was your anger", Mrs. Hwang entered the scene accusing Y/n, "Tch, what do you expect from a lady who doesn't even have a mother".

Y/n froze. She never wanted someone to blame her dead mother. "Watch your mouth", Vernon gritted, "Just because you are oldest doesn't give you right to say anything about her or her family".

"Don't talk like that to my Daughter, I won't tolerate it", Mrs.Chwe said.

Seungcheol and her father came there. "I said truth Vernon, accept it or not. She never had a mother who could teach her few things".

"Excuse me, you have no right to talk like that about my mother or my sister like that",  Seungcheol said. "Oh, look we have her brother here now".

Mingyu came running inside. He heard everything from Siwoo who didn't cut the call. "Aunty, can you tell us what happened? Don't need to create a fight here. We can talk about that afterwards", Yuna tried to handle the situation.

"This girl slapped my daughter. Even before, the these two were acting rude with my daughter", Mrs. Hwang said.

"The reason I slapped your daughter was because she forcefully kissed my husband. You did expect me to do that time? Dance? Or give them blessings?", Y/n said, "Let's not forget how casually you addressed this issue saying it was nothing". Everyone gasped.

Y/n's lips quivered. Tears were slowly making their way. Everyone mentioning her mother already made emotional but hearing Mrs. Hwang blaming her mother pushed her limits.

Mingyu held Areum's hand making her hiss, "Ask your mother to stop right here".

"I won't. You still think you don't like her anymore, Mingyu? I could see it in your eyes", Areum said.

"Then get your eyes checked, Areum. Cause I don't like her it was past and forever will be. If you didn't stop this then I'll reveal what you did in the past. I have recorded it. Yesterday's and the before one's too. I won't hesitate to play that", Mingyu glared at her.

Areum gulped, "Eomma let's go", she pulled her mother with her.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience", Vernon's mother said. She turned to them, "You take her home. She is already tired. I am sorry dear", His mother said. After saying a bye to her father and brother, they left.
