Twelve

"Why are you making that face?" Noah asked with his brows furrowed.

"What face?"

"The same heartsick face you made when you found that one direction isn't one anymore."

"You remember about that?!" I squeaked in surprise.

"Of course." He chuckled and reminded me of my old crush. "Zayn was your first love."

"I didn't make any face." I narrowed my eyes at him then huffed. "And don't remind me that."

"Then tell me, what are you thinking?" He plopped his face on his palm and gazed at me with his curious green eyes.

"I-ah..." I darted my eyes around, thinking about a topic to divert his attention. "The Cheez-its must be ready by now." I rushed towards the refrigerator and took the Cheez-its out.

I can't ask him if he's in love or not. Can I?

"They look good," Noah commented as I place the tray in front of him. He tasted one and a huge grin broke on his face. "These are amazing!"

Laughing at his reaction, I ate one and moaned when the sweet flavor melted in my mouth.

These are perfect!

Noah tossed a few more in his mouth and praised. "You did an outstanding job."

"We did an outstanding job." His eyes lit up, and he gave me a toothy grin which made me burst to laugh.

"What?" He frowned in confusion.

"You have peanut butter all over your teeth!" I snickered and his face turned red like a tomato.

"Miss Wolf." I froze in my laugh and peeked behind me.

"Yes, Miss Maddox?" I asked sweetly, batting my eyelashes at her.

"Class is over." She pointed out around the empty class. I didn't even notice them leaving. "Clean the mess and then you are free to leave." She darted her sharp gaze between me and Noah then left the room.

"Time to clean," I turned to Noah who was still stuffing his face with the Cheez-its.

Noah and I tidied up the counters first then took the dirty dishes to the sink. He washed the dishes while I dried and put them in their places. Like a team, we divided the work and did it peacefully without messing or breaking anything.

"We're a terrific team, aren't we?" I said proudly, looking at the work we did.

"I guess we are." He smiled as he rinsed the dishes and we fell into silence.

"You're coming to the movies tomorrow, right?" I asked him, trying to keep a conversation.

"No." He replied.

"Why?!" I shrieked.

I knew everyone will be there but Jax will be busy with Ivy, Kevin always sleeps during movies, and Emily... well she goes too deep in the movie and only comes out when it ends. I wanted Noah to be there, to make it bearable for me.

"Because I don't like it." He shrugged.

"Oh come on Noah, come, please," I begged and gave him my best puppy face.

"Jax will be there." He said in a monotone.

"IK. It was his plan." I rolled my eyes. "But I want you there too, please Noah. We'll have fun like when we were kids, please."

He watched me as I whined then he sighed giving in. "Fine, I'll come. Stop whining."

"Yes!" I bounced and hugged him tightly. "Thank you!" I felt him tense under my arms and quickly let go of him.

"We should get back to work now." He said, washing the dishes in a hurry and I grinned at his flushed face.

He's so cute!

The next day, I was in my room with Emily waiting for Kevin to show up. He was our chauffeur for the night.

I observed my outfit one more time in the mirror. I wore a black and white stripe shirt with black leggings and a light blue jacket. September has begun and the weather in Pinewood was getting chilly at night. I was still deciding what shoes to wear.

"What do you think, Em?" I turned towards Emily, who sat on my bed reading her book. "Black or white?"

"Black." She replied, glimpsing up from her book.

"Black it is." I sat on the edge of my bed and wore them.

"So..." Emily closed her book and eyed me. "I saw you were having fun with Noah yesterday." My lips automatically curled into a smile at the mention of his name.

"Yeah. We worked together and everything went well." I shrugged.

"Hm..." She hummed making me frown and crooked my head towards her.

"Do you want to say something, Em?" I arched my brow at her.

"No." She shook her head in amusement. I narrowed my eyes at her and was about to make her open her sweet mouth but stopped when my phone blared. It was Kevin.

"He's here. Let's go." I took my purse and ran downstairs with Emily. Locking my house, we went towards Kevin's car. I sat in the passenger seat and Emily in the back.

"Why am I the driver again?" Kevin looked at me annoyed.

"Because you're a boy," I said deadpan.

"That doesn't make any sense." He scoffed, starting his car.

"Actually, it does," Emily agreed with me. Kevin scowled, making us burst to laugh.

"Whatever." He muttered then smirked giving me side glances. "What's the plan?"

"What plan?" Emily looked between us oblivious.

"We are going on a movie night with our former friends," I smirked and rotated in my seat to face Emily. "We have to make things interesting, shouldn't we?"

Kevin and I gave each other a mischievous look, and Emily raised her eyebrows at us. "Why do I get a feeling that something is cooking here?"

"Because it is. I have plans to make this movie night miserable for Ivy." I rubbed my hands together. "First, we have to get tickets for the cheesiest movie we can get."

"Why?" Emily inquired.

"Because Ivy hates watching them." Kevin snickered. "And we have to get seats in the front row."

Emily raised her eyebrows at me to continue.

"She hates sitting in the front because she feels people are falling on her from the screen." I laughed at the memory of us watching movies as kids. "Oh, and Jax is definitely going to bring Marmite popcorn for Ivy." I shivered. "She's the only one who eats that flavor, so I want you..." I referred to Emily. "To take it before she gets it."

"But I don't like it," Her face scrunched in disgust.

"You don't have to eat it." I rolled my eyes. "It's just to irritate her."

"Then we'll commence our operation." Kevin snickered.

"Did you bring the spider?" I asked and he gave me a Cheshire grin.

"Let me guess." Emily leaned forward and whispered. "She hates spiders."

"See, you're getting smarter." I patted Emily's shoulder.

"That I am." She smiled proudly and leaned back in her seat.

"I'll give you a signal so you can record her reaction," I smirked and Emily nodded. "It will come in handy someday."

"I named this mission IPI," Kevin said and I arched my brow at him. "Irritating Poisonous Ivy."

Emily and I giggled and looked outside to see we reached the Cinema. Kevin parked his car where everyone was waiting for us. Grinning, I got out of the car and strode towards Jax.

"Evening everyone!" I exclaimed and hugged Jax. My eyes went to Ivy who stood behind him with her eyes narrowed at me

"You're late." He whispered.

"It's called fashionably late." I kissed his cheek and stepped back.

My eyes wandered to Darren, Viper, Bit*h and stopped at Noah. He wore a white shirt and dark blue jeans with a matching jacket and white sneakers. He looked good, as always. I beamed when my eyes caught Noah's and he smiled in return.

I'm so glad he's here.

"I'll go buy tickets," Darren said and Kevin plopped his arm on his shoulder.

"I'll come with you, buddy." He discreetly winked at me and left.

"Noah and I'll go buy snacks," Jax said and walked towards the counter with Noah, leaving the Bit*h and Viper with me and Emily.

The four of us stood facing each other like we were about to start a catfight instead of a movie.

Commencing Mission IPI.
