Seven
On Tuesday in Home Ec. class, Miss Maddox started our practical and gave us a task to make sandwiches and milkshakes. Every pair was given a separate counter, and they had their own ingredients, ovens, cutlery, and crockery to use.
I made the sandwiches with no difficulty and was cleaning the strawberries for the milkshake. I eyed Noah, who sat on the stool, with his earphones on. He still hasn't talked to me and since the class began he did nothing to help me. He just sat in his seat, continuously writing God knows what in his journal.
I don't mind cooking alone, because I'm good at it. But we had to clean our mess after every class and I hated that the most. If things stayed like this and I had to clean everything while Noah just sat there, that would not happen.
I won't do all the work like a fool while he gets the credit for free.
I glanced at Miss Mad, who sat on her seat reading her magazine. I still wondered what kind of magazine she read with such interest.
Moving closer to Noah, I whispered his name but he didn't respond. I called him again a little louder but he remained unfazed. I huffed in irritation and nudged his shoulder.
He took his earphones off and glared at me. "What?"
"What do you mean, what? This work..." I gestured toward the sandwiches I made. "We're supposed to do this together since we are a pair. So why am I doing it alone?"
"You didn't ask for help." He flatly said closing his journal.
"This is group work. You have to help me whether I ask you or not." I grumbled.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked in a bored tone, making my blood boil.
"You take this." I took the blender and threw strawberries in it. "And you add the ingredients," I added milk and sugar into it then put it on the machine and snapped at Noah. "Then you press this!"
"Wait-" I didn't let him finish and pressed the button with full force. The moment I pressed it, I knew I should have listened to him.
SPLAT!
A loud gasp escaped my lips and my eyes squeezed shut when the whole milk splashed on my face and clothes. The entire class guffawed at me while I cleaned my eyes with my fingers. I gaped at my now wet top with my jaw dropped.
I forgot to put the lid on!
Peeking at Noah, I saw him covering his mouth with his hand as he tried not to laugh but failed. When he saw me glaring at him, he cleared his throat and coughed.
"You, ah... You forgot to close the blender."
"No shit Sherlock." I gritted.
"Miss Wolf." Miss Maddox came in front of our counter looking amused. "You got something on your clothes." She gestured towards my crop top. The entire class continued laughing at me.
"Of course I did." I fumed and turned my head towards Noah. "It's all your-"
"Why are you blaming him for your mistake?" Miss Mad cut me off.
"Because it's his fault!" I pointed at my top and shrieked. "This is Balmain. Do you have any idea how expensive it is?!"
"Oh, I'm aware of that Miss Wolf." She gave a longing glance at my top then mocked me. "And you shouldn't be wearing it if you can't take care of it."
I side glanced at Noah who kept his head down as he snickered. Inhaling a sharp breath, I stomped my foot and dashed out of the class with Emily behind me.
Arg! I'll deal with you later Noah!

"It's not working!" I screamed as I cleaned my top in the girls' bathroom. "I smell like rotten milk!" I turned towards Emily, who stood next to me staring at her phone. "What kind of milk do they use here?"
"I don't know the brand name, but I can tell it's the cheapest one." She answered without taking her eyes off her phone.
"Why do we pay the fees? To get rotten milk?" I scoffed, trying to clean it with a wet towel.
"Um... Lexi..." Emily finally looked at me and whispered. "You're not going like this."
She showed me her phone and my eyes widened when I saw myself on the screen. It was a video of me in the Home Ec. class after my milk incident.
I look horrible screaming in it!
They posted the video on our school website and it already had hundreds of views, likes, and comments, making fun of me.
"Who posted this?" I growled.
"I don't know," Emily shook her head.
"Then find out, Em. Someone from our class made this obviously, and whoever made this video..." I cracked my knuckles. "Is going to pay for it."
Emily gulped and eyed my clothes. "what about them?"
I picked up my phone and called Jax.
"Hello-"
"Do you have an extra shirt?" I asked impatiently, tapping my foot.
"Yeah, I have-"
"Bring it to the girls' bathroom on the second floor. Now."
"Why-" I hung up before he could ask me questions.
"What was that for?" Emily frowned.
"I can't walk around the school in this." I gestured toward my clothes. "And I can't hide or else everyone will think that I got affected by that." I pointed at her phone. "I'm sure Ivy will be laughing her a** off right now." Groaning, I rubbed my face in frustration.
"You're going to wear Jax clothes to divert people's attention." She concluded making me smirk.
"People forget about old things when they get new topics to gossip about. They'll forget the video when they'll see me with him and in his clothes."
"What're you planning to do with the one who posted it?" She curiously asked.
"You'll see when I get my hands on him or her." I impatiently paced in the bathroom, waiting for Jax. "Go outside and see if he's here." I shooed Emily out.
I looked at my clothes in the mirror and sighed. It was my fault, I should have paid attention to what I was doing. I got so furious at how Noah was treating me. I knew I have anger issues, and I tried to control it, but he gets on my nerves easily.
I was cut off from my train of thought when Emily came inside with a shirt.
"Here." She gave me and I went inside a stall to change. "Noah was standing outside," Emily said, making me halt.
"Why?" I asked, wearing Jax's shirt.
"I don't know. When I got outside he was standing there and was about to say something but stopped when he saw Jax coming."
"What happened then?" I got out of the stall and threw my dirty top in my bag.
She shrugged. "He left without saying anything."
Weird.
"Why was he even outside the girls' bathroom?" I looked in the mirror and soothed my hair.
"Maybe he wanted to apologize?" Emily suggested.
I snorted and grabbed my stuff. We walked out of the bathroom and saw Jax chuckling at something on his phone. He glanced at me and burst out laughing.
"Now I know why you needed my shirt." He snickered. I looked at him deadpan and began walking down the stairs toward the Cafeteria. "I didn't know you were this careless, Lexi."
"Ha, ha, hilarious," I said deadpan and opened the Cafeteria door.
As always, everyone turned their heads and watched me. But this time they had stupid grins on their faces as they made fun of me.
Not getting affected by their looks, I kept my head high and darted my eyes at my former friends' table. I saw the Bit*h and Viper laughing at me and rolled my eyes.
"Jax." I grabbed his hand and dragged him towards my table. "You're sitting with us today." He opened his mouth, but I cut him off with my glare.
He squinted his eyes at me but said nothing. When I reached my table I saw everyone controlling their laughed as they watched me with twinkling eyes.
"Not. A. Word," I growled and sat with Jax beside me.
"The hell is he doing here?" Kevin grunted at Jax.
"He's going to sit with us from now on." I simply stated.
They all looked at me with wide eyes and asked. "Why?"
"Because we are dating," I said in a duh tone.
"You haven't been on a single date," Natasha pointed her finger between us.
I opened my mouth to give her a remark but Jax beat me to it. "We are going on a date this week."
We are?
I stared at Jax in confusion and he winked at me. Natasha began asking him about the date while Emily and I glanced at each other with wide eyes.
A date? With Jax? Emily blinked at me and I smirked.
Oh, it's on!
