two | family murdering axe murderer
Your eyes stole
all my words away.
"OF COURSE, YOU'RE still the team captain. You got your grades up just like Coach told you, right?" Stiles confirmed as I walked alongside them, a slight limp evident.
"Yeah, but he never told me I was back on the team. He just told me to show up at tryouts today." He spoke with a quick tone and a hint of fear.
"Coach would fight tooth and nail to have you on the team, Scott." I consoled and he looked back with a thankful smile on his face.
"We've got bigger things to deal with anyway. Did you tell Argent?" Stiles pushed it aside, looking back at Scott as we came to a halt. I had never been able to keep myself out of their talks so I decided to give up on trying to stay out of them. Besides, I enjoyed being so close to my brother and all of his friends. I felt comforted and didn't worry as much about all of the supernatural situations. Of course, they we're still horrifying but we always managed to make it through them.
"You told him his sister Kate came back from the dead over a text?" Was all I heard as I snapped away from my thoughts quickly. I looked over to Scott swiftly as his eyes widened towards me and he shrugged.
"I didn't have the money to call France." He spoke in a smaller tone of voice as my brother's face dropped.
"Yeah, you think you got money problems? Try paying for an MRI and a visit to Eichen House." He sighed, blinking rapidly as I rubbed the side of his arm to comfort him. He had been worried sick about our money situation ever since the Nogistune problem. Which mind you, was absolutely terrifying.
"Another notice?" Scott asked as Stiles told him that it was the final one. My eyes widened quickly as I looked to right of me and find a group of teenage boys practicing lacrosse, astonishingly.
"Now, what the hell are we even doing here anyway? We got like a 117 million problems and worrying about our status on the lacrosse team is not one of them." My brother rambled on as Scott finally noticed what I had been blatantly staring at in awe.
"It is now." He said to Stiles with a nod in the direction of the group. We all stared as the goalie had caught every shot perfectly, shot after shot.
"Who the hell is that?" Stiles spoke with annoyance as I glanced back at him quickly. He had been almost starring him down as I turned my head to find the goalie taking off his helmet. Underneath was a boy that looked to be my age with caramel colored hair. I had noticed that it also had a slight red tint in the sunlight. I couldn't see his eye color from exactly where I was at, but they looked to be a striking blue. It was then brought to my attention that the boy was the one from a couple days ago. He glanced over as I quickly averted my attention away from him, in an automatic response to avoid eye contact. Although, it wouldn't have mattered since the two idiots behind me had already been gawking in amazement. I had given up and looked back to find him still starring, but with a confused look on his face. Stiles glared over at me in realization, as it came to his mind that he was the same boy.
"Nice, Liam. You might just be our first ever freshman captain." Another teammate on the field gushed as I felt Stiles brush his hand across my shoulder to get my attention. I turned back towards him, raising my eyebrows with a "yes?" kind of look.
"Don't even think about it. Please don't tell me you're already thinking about it." He huffed, peering down at me as Scott chuckled. "This isn't funny." Stiles pointed towards him as serious as possible.
"Stiles," I started, catching his attention. "You might have to worry." I spoke, remembering the feel of his t-shirt that was currently left on my nightstand. "Wait, didn't we go over this. That you can't really handle being in a relationship right now?" Stiles reminded, causing my thoughts to clash as I looked over towards the blue eyed brunette and sighed.
"Stiles, you have to give her some space sometimes. Especially since she's now a freshman in high school." Scott insisted, continuing to chuckle at my brother's extremely protective nature towards me. He peered over at him and his stature had relaxed.
"Okay, maybe we should just practice a little bit." Stiles stammered as they both ran off into the field quickly, purposely changing the subject.
"Hey, wait up! I'm crippled, remember?" I jokingly called, as I slowly made my way behind them, glancing over quickly to find the boys starring. My heart had pounded in my chest as I could feel continue to feel the eyes on me. But I tried my best to ignore the feeling as I talked to my brother and his best friend, whom I considered a second brother.
"I'm supposed to come to tryouts tomorrow with Kira and Malia right?" I asked the two as they both nodded and waved as I walked off. I could still feel someone's eyes on me as I sneaked a peek at the group. Liam's eyes stayed on me as he talked to the blonde that was next to him. I turned and waved in his direction as the blonde, who I noticed as Garrett, had widened his eyes in amazement. My brain couldn't really process why, but I went with it anyways and slowly walked off the field.

I stood next to Scott's locker as I had waited for the rest of the group to meet. It was to my surprise when I had gotten a text about an axe murder that we needed to discuss. Sometimes, I had thought about what it would be like to get normal text messages and live a simplistic life. But then I realize, that would never be enough for me and I wouldn't have been taught the lessons I've learned.
"A family murdering axe murder." Stiles corrected, as I looked over to find Kira, Stiles, and Scott heading towards the locker. As if he couldn't be any louder. I thought to myself as my brother insisted that we do something about it immediately.
"We've got Econ in five minutes." Scott spoke as Stiles rolled his eyes in pure annoyance.
"Alright, did you forget the part about the family murdering axe murderer?" He questioned, his eyes flickering between the three of us as Scott shot back another question.
"Did you forget that you and Nina's dad is the sheriff? They want us to stay out of it." Scott almost demanded, in hopes of nobody getting hurt and being able to finish the school day.
Stiles disagreed at this statement immediately. "Are you guys kidding me? There's a family-murdering axe murder and we're not going to do anything about it?" He questioned, disappointed at his two friends in front of him.
He shot a look of hope towards me as I smiled, "Maybe, Stiles' is right. What if this murder is actually supernatural and could harm us and others?" I spoke, trying to help Stiles' case as he silently thanked me.
"I don't know, Nina. Maybe we should just let the adults handle it." Kira suggested, as my brother threw up his arms in aggravation.
"So the two of you, you just want to stay here, school, go to class. Never heard anything so irresponsible in my life." He spoke in frustration as we linked arms and walked off dramatically.
"See you at tryouts?" Scott called out as Stiles' made a weird movement and I chuckled by his side.
