Stop! Or I will shoot you! Shouted Avni as she ran behind the thief with a gun in her hand. She had been chasing this thief from years and finally she has been successful to find him.

The person stopped in his tracks. His face was still covered with mask and his back was facing Avni.

You can't escape from me.. it's better that you surrender! Said Avni while pointing the gun on him. He smirked and turned to her. His hand reached for his mask and slowly pulled it out.

Avni froze in her position. Never in her wildest dreams she expected him to be the thief.. NEO.

Hello Ms. Mehta.. oops.. Mrs. Khanna.. or should I say WIFEY.. said the person with a smirk. Avni looked at him with tears in her eyes.

Neil.. Avni managed to speak. She was broken. She couldn't believe that her husband,her love , her life betrayed her.

For a second Neil's expressions changed. His heart pierced at the sight of tears in her eyes. He quickly came back to Neo.

Shoot me ACP Avni Khanna.. said Neil. Avni's hand started shivering as she looked at the gun in her hand. She could never shoot him no matter how bad he is.

His words started playing in her mind again and again like a video.

Her head started pounding. and her vision blurred. She collapsed on the ground with a thud. Neil was shocked. He quickly ran to her and took her in his arms.

He patted her cheeks and tried to wake her up but to no avail. He felt guilty for breaking her trust.

Flashback

Neil wanted to destroy Vidyut for killing his parents. He tried every possible way to destroy him but failed. Vidyut was always one step ahead him. He decided to become NEO and destroy him.

One day he met Avni in a family function. He came to know that she is a police officer. An idea striked his mind. He made her fall for him but little did he know that he too fell for her in the process.

After few months they were married. He was a businessman and Avni a police officer. He tried to get information about Vidyut. He sneaked into her study room and studied all the files regarding Vidyut and got information about him. Avni found something suspicious about him but shrugged it off.

After few months Avni got the case of Neo. Neil had been careful so that his plan doesn't spoil. Avni never got to know about him being Neo.

Flashback ends.

Avni wakes up and tries to lift her eyelids. Her head was pounding badly. Flashes of  past few hours came running in her mind. She tried to move her hand but couldn't. Just then she realised that she was tied up. She looked at her surroundings and realised she was in a shed in the forest.

So everything was planned! Avni's mind said.

Just then Neil walked in. He was back in Neil Khanna's attire. He saw her awake.

So someone is awake.. great! I didn't expect you to wake this early.. Anyways I want to talk to you.. said Neil in a serious tone.

What do you mean by you didn't expect me to wake early? What did you do? Why is my head pounding? Shouted Avni.

I just drugged you! Said neil. He looked at Avni who gave him a disgusting look. He tried to speak but couldn't.

Liste-- but he was cut off by Avni.

No! You listen to me.. who do you think you are! How dare you drug me and tie me up.. shouted Avni. He kneeled to her level and gripped her jaw tightly between his fingers. Her jaw started hurting.

He was about to reply her but just then he heard someone's voice. It was DD and the other policemen. They must have come in search of Avni.

I don't have time to argue.. we need to leave this place soon! Saying this Neil left her and unlocked her handcuffs and picked her in his arms.

So Neo is scared of getting caught! Said Avni sarcastically.

Shut your pretty mouth or -- Avni cuts him off.

Or what.. you will harm me.. do it.. do it if you can but remember Neo.. you will not be spared.. warned avni. Neil didn't like Avni calling him Neo. He didn't respond to her words and kept walking deep into the forest.

Where are you taking me?  asked Avni.

Chatterbox! Taunted Neil's mind.

Where no one can find us.. said Neil in a disinterested tone. He looked everywhere to check if anyone was there. He turned and started walking again.

It's better if you kill me.. because if I am alive I will not let you live in peace.. said Avni with a smirk. She tried to bottle up her emotions. She can't show vulnerable side to Neil. She had to be strong.

I can't kill you.. mumbled Neil. Avni became silent and her eyes welled up.

He still loves you! Her heart said.

No Avni he just used you for his mission! Her brain said.

Do you think your Neil can cheat you ever.. her heart said.

Open your eyes avni.. he is Neo.. he is not Neil.. her brain said.

Avni was confused. She didn't knew whether to listen to her heart or to her mind. Just then she heard dd's voice.

She somehow came out of Neil's grip and stepped back. He tried to hold her but she pointed a small knife on him which she always keeps with her.

Avni! Better stop your foolish games and come with me.. warned Neil and tried to distract her and stepped forward.

Avni stepped back immediately. She very well knew his games.

Don't! Warned avni. But Neil kept on walking towards her. Then something unexpected happened. In a swift movement Avni slid the knife harshly through her upper arm. Neil was shocked. Avni threw the knife at him as she saw dd and the other policemen coming there.

Before Neil could comprehend anything he saw dd and the other policemen standing there. Dd got worried as he saw blood oozing out from avni's arm. She was like a small sister to him.

Avni.. who hurt you! Said dd in a angry tone. He was always overprotective for her. His gaze fell on the blood stained knife near Neil.

Dd was confused.

He did it! Said Avni in a robotic tone. Neil understood that avni was trying to trap him.

How could you do this!? Said dd while looking at Neil. Before he could speak anything Avni spoke.

No dd.. he attacked me but only as a self defence.. muttered Avni. Neil didn't understand what was she upto.

What do you mean? Asked dd. Avni looked at Neil and then at dd. She took a deep breath and spoke.

I am Neo.. confessed avni. Everyone were shocked including Neil.

Neil came to know that I am Neo and tried to stop my next mission.. so.. so I tried to harm him and while saving himself I got this wound.. said Avni. She did what her heart told.

I don't believe you! Said dd.

You have to believe it! Because it's true! Screamed Avni. She was forwarded her hands towards him indicating him to arrest her.

And it's your duty to arrest the criminal.. arrest me! Said Avni. Dd was helpless and looked at Neil who was still standing there like a statue. He expected him to say something but he didn't.

I can't!  Cried dd.

It's your duty dd.. and country always comes first.. said Avni. Dd signalled the lady officer to arrest her.

Are you sure? Asked dd while looking at Avni. She nodded. They took her to the police jeep.

Neil quickly ran behind them and stopped them.

Dd.. please.. I want to talk to avni.. please just 5 mins.. pleaded Neil. Dd denied as she was in their custody. But Neil requested him again. Dd couldn't deny so he agreed.

Neil dragged Avni to the other corner away from the police's sight.

What the hell do you think you are doing! Shouted Neil as tears rolled down his cheeks.

You should be happy.. that you are safe.. you can still destroy Vidyut.. what do you want else.. huh.. said Avni in a accusing tone.

Please don't do this! I don't want you to land in any trouble.. please.. said Neil while cupping her cheeks.

Is this Neo who is standing in front of me or Neil? Asked avni as she yanked his hand.

I am your Neil.. I am only yours! Cried Neil and tried to hold her.

No.. you can't be my Neil.. because my Neil can never hurt me.. he can never betray me.. do you understand Neo! Said Avni and pushed Neil away.

Neil hugged her tightly.

I am sorry Avni.. I am sorry for everything I did to you.. please.. forgive me.. please.. said Neil while crying. Avni pushed him away.

You broke my trust.. I can never forgive you for that.. understood.. I will never forgive you for that! Shouted Avni and went. Neil fell on his knees and cried. He remembered avni's words.

I can do anything for you Neil.. anything..

I will love you till my last breath..

You will never leave me na?

Neil realised that he was wrong. He shouldn't have done that. Tears left his eyes furiously as he watched police taking Avni away.

The car drove away. Neil got up and wiped his tears. It was time to correct his mistakes. He would never let Avni suffer due to his mistakes. He realised that he was madly in love with Avni. He promised himself to bring back his love safely
