Hola!!

College is difficult trust me especially with maths honors 🤷‍♀️

But ya I am back and so looking forward to continuing our crazy journey.

Keep showering your love coz that keeps me going 🐌 (ya emojii pun intended)

Anyway next updated on 550 (pakka no delay this time, i will write from now itself)

I know you guys don't trust me, even i don't trust myself 🥱

Oh last the chapter have quite a bit of Hindi so if you don't get it ask in the inline comment, if not me some other divya manav will definitely reply 🤭

"Annika, you done? I have informed Mom, Badi maa, and Dadi about your father's arrival. Bade Papa and Dad are with him at the moment downstairs. If you are done, can we go?" called out Shivaay to his wife who was inside their walk-in closet getting ready. She had freaked out and immediately rushed back to her room followed by Shivaay, Om, and Rudra.

Mallika and Gauri have excused themselves or more like Gauri dragged Mallika away because she was well aware that Mallika being the high-headed woman won't tolerate Harshvardhan Trivedi's highly traditional rules.

Annika was well aware that she was up for some questioning from her father over what was she wearing and why was Rudra holding her like that?

"I am coming, Shivaay, one minute" replied Annika from inside while he settled on the couch and looked at Om and Rudra, lying on the bed who were glancing at each other "Come on guys spit it out!"

"O, how could you bring traditional Trivedi home without informing? He is one of those 80's films man who has a set of rules' Rudra cleared his throat and said in a deep voice 'Parampara, pratistha, anusashan, mere ghar ke teen stamb hai, ye wo aadarsh hai jinse hum aapki zindagi suffocate kar dete hai'.

"Shut up Rudra" replied Om "First there is nothing wrong with Tradition, values and discipline. Everyone should have that in life."

"Of course, but not one sided and over. All these disciplines are over the woman. You know Annie said that her mom isn't allowed to leave house without that veil. Then when she goes out even with her husband, they have this weird thing where he drops her a little distance away and she will walk back like what the fuck dude?"

"How am I supposed to be aware of it? I know Annika's father is conservative but I never talked about this enough with her to know just how much" replied Om "I and Dad were just planning to give her a surprise."

"Bravo! You actually gave her a shock" he reverted back "Annie would be the first daughter in law who freak out not on the visit of her in laws but her parents."

"Okay guys Chill, let's first handle the situation" Shivaay interrupted them that's when Om looked at him "Why are we even bothering with his rules Shivaay? It's our home. Why are we trying to please him?"

"Because Annika wants that Om, she doesn't want him to be disappointed in her. It's his first visit here, we will ease out but slowly" replied Shivaay than with a deep breath "Look I am not very fond of Annika's father either. I dislike how reckless he was at our wedding. He let her marry a random stranger he was not much aware of just because he was scared of the whole shit logic of so called 'leftover bride'.

"That random stranger is you Bhai" said Rudra, frowning "Are you condemning yourself?"

"No, Trust me. I am thankful of Mr. Trivedi for giving me a chance as Annika's husband. It's just" he rubbed his forehead "he didn't know me well enough at that point, neither my family. It was so disappointing as a father of him to let his daughter go with a man, he isn't well aware of."

Rudra looked at Om "I am still not getting is he praising TT or condemning him?"

"Who is TT?" asked Om, settling a cushion below his elbow. Rudra frowned "TT? Traditional Trivedi"

"Don't call him that though" said Shivaay, taking out his office black shirt and wearing a casual T-shirt. Rudra looked at the ceiling and asked "What should I call him then? Baujii?" he chuckled at his own pathetic joke.

"I guess Papa would do? That was what I was planning to call him" said Shivaay, adjusting his hair, that's when they heard the gate of Walk-in closet opening and strode out Annika dressed in a maroon saree with golden border, the blouse reaching below her elbow, her hair pulled up in a neat, oiled bun with nuptial chain hanging around her neck and a wide filling of sindoor in between her hair partition.

But what caught the attention of Obros the most was her keeping the end of saree over her head, something they haven't seen much. "What happened?" asked Annika biting her lips. The men looked at each other and not able to control Rudra was the first one to burst out laughing followed by Om while Shivaay kept his hand over his mouth to control his own laughter.

"What's so funny? You can't make fun of traditions come-on" asked Annika frowning, throwing towel over Rudra who just sniggered more. Shivaay somehow controlled himself and walked to her smiling "It's not funny, you look gorgeous wifey we are just not used to this veil thing" he said wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

"And you look really funny as someone straight out of those typical Adarsh Bahu ITV show" said Rudra unabashedly, in between his laughter "Also your father just saw you in a ripped jeans and crop top. How is he goanna buy this whole Gita to Sita transition?"

"Don't remind me that. Om you should have informed" said Annika, trying to adjust her veil properly. Not having worn saree for long, she was having issues with it. Shivaay who saw this came forward to adjust her saree and veil.

"O Come-on I was not aware he would be so conservative—" replied Om and smiled at how effortlessly Shivaay went on his knees to correct the plates of Annika's saree and then chuckled imagining if Annika's father saw this scene.

"Shivaay---no get up. I'll set it up" said Annika but Shivaay didn't budge "Relax Annika, your father isn't here----and here we are done" He stood up after a moment but then slightly grazed his finger through her exposed waist, Annika looked at him wide eyes, his brothers were right there in the room but all he did was give her a wink.

Her husband was a unique blend of effortless Gentleman and a desperate flirt.

"We saw that" remarked Rudra to which Annika looked down blushing but Shivaay shamelessly replied "Nobody asked you to, close your eyes."

"Bhai Behsharam ho rahe ho, Should I complain to your father-in-law?" asked Rudra only to receive a SSO special glare. Annika looked up at that "But what are all of you still doing here?"

"Well, you were freaking out, we came for moral support" replied Rudra as if it was obvious, Annika shook her head "You shouldn't be in the room, only Shivaay is allowed."

"Huh? Now that's rude Annie" said Rudra, making a heartbroken face only to receive a smack on head from Om who asked Annika "Why?"

"Only husband is allowed in the woman's room in our village" replied Annika, going through the mirror to check if everything is perfect or not. Shivaay smirked at that "I think I kind of like this rule, these two idiots anyway keep rotting in our room. Come-on get out shoo shoo"

Rudra frowned while Om gave Shivaay an impossible look before asking Annika "What else? Let's go through this rule book before we mess up infront of him.

"Okay" Annika turned toward him "No one will call me by my name, okay. Rudra and Om just call me Bhabhi, no Annie or Annika."

"Not even Bit---" started Rudra only to dodge the cushion Annika threw on him "No jokes Rudra, I am already freaking out. I am not going to call either of you by your name. Its Bade and Chote Devarjii for Om and Rudra."

"Kaun sa Jii?" asked Rudra confused, Om shook his head "Devar, she means brother in law."

"Yes, and Shivaay, I am not calling you by name either" said Annika to which Shivaay looked at her with a frown "No Shivaajii Annika please"

"Of course not. I can't take my husband's name in any form" said Annika, chuckling at his disgusted face. He really hates Shivaayjii!

"So, what will you call bhaiya, Hubby, darling, baby, shona---" started Rudra only to receive a collective "Shut up Rudra!"

"Okay" he raised his hand before flopping back on the bed. Nobody appreciates him.

"What happened Annika? What will you call me?" asked Shivaay, seeing her all silent. Annika looked at him with a slight confused frown "Actually I don't know."

"Huh? What do your mother call your father?" asked Om to which Annika shrugged "Well it's actually Annika ke papa or Sahil ke papa. That's what I have heard her calling him."

"For that you need to plan a baby. Then name her Shivika. And you can call Bhaiya, Shivika ke papa" suggested Rudra, in the ever so casual tone while playing with Shivaay's watch.

"Did you just plan our baby, its gender and name for the sake of what Annika would call me?" asked Shivaay perplexed while Annika shook her head, she had heard enough of Rudra planning their children before to be bothered now.

"I know, I am smart!" replied Rudra, with his infamous logic sign "And I get the right to name Shivika because when you would be wanting privacy with you wife, I would have to handle her. Calm her down. Feed her. Show her how charming her Rudy chachu is."

Shivaay gave a look to Om 'Is he for real?' but all Om did was shrug off his shoulder. He had given up on Rudra long ago.

"Anyway Annika, there must be something your mom use to call your father before you were born. Like what do newlywed in your village call their husband?" asked Om to which Annika's frown deepened "they actually don't call anything. They just call out saying 'suniye' and they listen."

"Wow, what a soulmate connection" commented Rudra and this time Om lost it, taking a pillow he plunged it over Rudra's face who struggled to push him away, Shivaay shook his head at his two brothers who at time felt have never grown before pulling Om away who looked angry enough to pull out his or Rudra's hair at the moment.

"Leave me Shivaay, today I will kill this idiot. He can never be serious" Om struggled but when Annika held his hand he calmed down. Shivaay looked baffled at that. What the actual fuck?

"Om calm down and let's go" said Annika, taking a deep breath. This is going to be difficult "You and Rudra go first. Me and Shivaay will join you in a second." She then looked at Rudra with pointed gaze "And Rudra no double meaning jokes at all!"

"Why are you warning only me? Warn your husband" He frowned "And above all warn my dear Dad. I wouldn't be surprised if he says something like 'you looked sexy in the previous look'"

"Rudra!" warned Annika to which he rolled his eyes "Fine, I am going. Let's go my long hair humsafar" Holding Om by his arm Rudra walked out not before commenting "Bhaiya, Annie have just wrapped this six feet fabric with so much effort, don't unwrap it and come down."

Shivaay shook his head at his obstinate brother before turning toward his nervous wife "It's okay. He is just your father." She looked at him with her face laced with worry "His face looked how disappointed he was seeing me like that. Already allowing me to study after graduation was a big thing for him."

He smiled, intertwining their finger. He tried to move but she stood back "I heard what you said earlier. About papa getting us married without knowing much about you." Shivaay tried to explain but she interrupted him "I get your point Shivaay but my father isn't a bad person trust me. He was just scared. The society we are raised is highly patriarchal. They consider this curse as their culture. And my father isn't a leader to revolt against it. He is just a common man who follows it to fit in."

"I know" Shivaay smiled, keeping his palm on her cheek "And don't worry my respect for him would never go down. In his own little way, he still revolted. In your village you are the only one who went out of the city for graduation. Letting you live alone. He allowed it to the limit he could. His views are wrong, not he as a person."

She smiled at that while he planted a soft kiss on her forehead "And anyway the point is he gave you to me, So I am forever in debt to him. Now let's go before Rudra mess up" He added with a chuckle which was reverberated by her as they moved down to the hall with Annika adjusting her veil.

Harshavardhan Trivedi who was talking to Shakti and Tej about how Annika fit in their family smiled seeing his daughter and son in law. They came forward and bend down to touch his feet. It truly fills his heart with a joy that no matter the circumstances his daughter was happy.

"Papa" muttered Annika, her eyes holding drops of tears. Despite whatever differences in opinion, they have. He was still her father and she missed him.

"How are you?" He asked to which she nodded not being able to form coherent words as he hugged her softly. Shivaay smiled at that. In the end, he was her father and indeed loved her.

"How are you son?" Harshvardhan asked Shivaay who smiled and replied "Way happy that you gave me a chance to be the husband of such an amazing woman. I owe you Papa."

"I owe you son. That day you literally saved us" said Harshvardhan, placing a blessing hand on Shivaay's head who smiled despite not in complete agrement with his words. Shakti came forward "Trivedi jii, the ladies of the house would be a little late. So why don't you join us for lunch?"

"I am sorry Samdhiji but we aren't allowed to even drink the water of daughter's house" replied Harshvardhan, with a solemn smile. Rudra who till now was feeling bored with all these exchange couldn't hold his mouth "Then we can get you mineral water? It won't be of your daughter's house."

"Rudra" Om smacked his head "Shut up!"

"What? And scientifically the water keeps circulating in the world. There is no guarantee if the water we use wasn't ones in his house. Is it?" Rudra did his infamous logic sign and at the moment Annika really wanted to kill and bury her best friend.

Harshvardhan stood confused when Shakti again insisted "But Trivedijii you have come such a long way. How can we let you stay hungry?"

"Don't worry Samdhiji I have my own food with me" Harshvardhan replied, pointing at his bag. Tej who till now was trying to digest that people like Harshvardhan still existed came forward with a smile "Great then, join us for the lunch Samdhijiiiiii" He deliberately stretched that jii and Shivaay rolled his eyes at his Bade Papa attempt of getting humor out of such a situation.

The table was set as all of them settled to have their food. Annika wasn't supposed to eat with the men but Shivaay wouldn't take that. He would go with every rule but not this. And anyway, Harshvardhan wasn't pointing out mistakes.

"So, this is why we planned not to announce their marriage until Annika complete her studies" Shakti told while eating his food. Harshvardhan just smiled. In the part of society where he belongs, woman studying and working after marriage wasn't considered reputable for the man of the family but he very well was aware that he was no one to question the Oberois.

"Yes, if media gets to know that Shivaay Singh Oberoi is married they goanna make An---" Annika glared Rudra who immediately corrected himself "Bhabhi's life a literal on tv drama show."

"That's why we have planned once Annika complete her studies, take over her position as MD of Oberoi empire. We will announce their marriage in a lavish reception with all our business collegiate, friends and international associates" Tej added, eating his rice "After that the children could enjoy their honeymoon."

As soon as the word escaped Tej's mouth, Annika choked on her food while Harshvardhan looked taken aback. He wasn't very well versed with all the modernization but he of course was well aware of what they were talking about.

Tej who doesn't seem to realize his blunder continued "Are you okay Annika? Shivaay pass her water" he asked Shivaay who looked at his Bade Papa trying to signal him but the man just didn't get the hint.

"So, I was saying Shivaay could finish all his important works by then and we can send him and Annika on a long honeymoon. Maybe to Greece. It's a great place. I and Jhanvi also went there for our second honeymoon." Tej continued while pouring himself some curry.

Rudra kept his palm over his mouth to control his laughter and bend down to whisper to Annika "See I told you. He needed the warning first hand."

Shakti let out a nervous chuckle "I think we should let Annika and her father spend some time with each other. Are you guys done?" Shivaay shared a look with Annika before standing up and gesturing Om and Rudra to stand up as well.

"Bhaisahab—" Shakti called so sweetly that it sounded creepy while Tej who was still eating looked at him with a raised eyebrow "I am still not finished."

"There is some important work. Hurry up please" Tej frowned but compiled as the servants took away the utensils and left-over food. Dragging him away Shakti muttered "I told you right. No double meaning joke in front of him."

"Oh, so dad you did spread this raita even after the warning?" chuckled Rudra, feeling so proud on himself for not being the one to mess up this time for a change.

"Shut up Rudra" snapped Tej and looked at Shakti with a frown "And it was not any double meaning joke. It was just a simple honeymoon point. Isn't it very obvious for a married couple to go out on honeymoon?"

Shakti stared at Tej for a second before raising his hand "I am so done with you big bro" he turned and left for his muttering "Today he proved to be Rudra's father!"

"Wait---what did I even do wrong?" Tej followed Shakti leaving behind the Obros who chuckled at the senior obros. There are moments when even Tej Singh Oberoi behaved dumb!

"I feel so bad for leaving Annika to face all the interrogation alone" muttered Shivaay looking at Annika and Harshvardhan who were now sitting on the couch. Rudra held Shivaay's arm "He is her father not a monster who will gobble her up. Let's give them some privacy."

"Oh-so you know what's privacy?" asked Shivaay sarcastically walking along with Rudra and Om toward the pool side. Rudra gave him and obvious look to which he replied "Because when it come to me and Annika you give no privacy."

"I don't feel like giving anything to you" replied Rudra and shared a hi-fi with Om before running away so as to escape his pissed off elder brother.

Meanwhile on the other side Annika tapped her feet nervous, there was definitely a lot of awkwardness within her and her father at the moment "Papa, what Bade Papa meant---"

Harshvardhan interrupted "I get it anu. They are different from us. They don't follow our traditions and rules but I appreciate their effort to respect it in front of me. Even though they kind of failed" Annika chuckled at that.

"And the dress you were wearing and with your brother-in-law-----" Annika tried to explain him but Harshvardhan continued "Don't worry I am not disappointed anymore. I mean I don't agree. Wouldn't allow this in my house but I am happy you got a family where your opinion match."

Annika smiled at that, Harshvardhan stood up and fetched out another bag he brought along "here your mother sent these for you and yes it does have your favorite gud ka bunwa too" Annika took the bag and immediately opened it to take out her delicacy. She missed her mother's handmade sweets.

"Annika---" Harshvardhan voice stopped her hand in air. She made a sheepish face and kept it back "Sorry. First to Sh---him. I know" She muttered, remembering that it should first be eaten by her husband. "He doesn't like sweets thought" she muttered under her breath but made sure her father doesn't hear it. He would consider it as a disrespect by arguing with the elders.

"You are happy right?" He asked after sometime "I am so sorry the way things turned into. I failed. I should have made sure their demands were fulfilled."

Annika sighed; he doesn't get. He doesn't get that he didn't fail by not fulfilling their demand. He failed by trying to fulfill it. Guess she would never be able to change his mind regarding this.

"I am happy, Papa" she said "Shi—I mean he is the perfect husband anyone could ask for" It was frustrating to talk about Shivaay without being able to take his name. Who the hell made these rules?

"Nihal still work in the office?" asked Harshvardhan and Annika nodded yes "He didn't fire Nihal because Nihal is the soul earner of his family and it would put him in crisis. But don't worry we don't meet. We work in different department."

Harshvardhan nodded. They talked about village, home, her mother, her brother and every other relative who were fawning over them now that they know Annika was married to The Oberois. It was after about three hours that Shivaay, Om, Rudra, Tej and Shakti joined them.

"I think I should leave now. It's getting late. I will meet samdhanjii and others some other time" said Harshvardhan. Tej and Shakti shared a look well aware why did the ladies didn't come back. They were off to a women function and definitely not dressed in a way Annika's father would approve. While it didn't bother them they didn't wanted to create any awkwardness.

"And if you guys allow. Can Annika visit us whenever she get time from her college?" asked Harshvardhan to which Rudra piped up "Our internship get over in a month and then we will have break before final exams. Annie---I mean Bhabhi can visit next month."

"What? No" Shivaay stood up to this "There is a lot of work in the office Papa. No free time."

"But aren't you the boss son? Can't you give her leave?" Harshvardhan Trivedi asked with a confused frown. It always felt that Shivaay was ready to do anything for Annika but now he was refusing for a leave.

The other Oberoi rolled their eyes well aware of the reason Shivaay was refusing. He can't bear a day without his wife now.

"Wo—wo actually the thing is Papa----" Shivaay started but before he could continue a loud shrill voice of Natasha greeted them.

"What the fuck Annie?" Natasha marched inside not looking around just shouted on top of her voice "You went on a girl's day out and left your best friend behind. You bitch!" She cursed "Come-out" Her eyes then fell on Rudra who walked up to her to calm her down as Annika felt like killing herself at this moment. Even if her father didn't understand the curses, Natasha's tone made it clear.

"Hey Rudy? Where is Annie?" asked Natasha and then turned toward Shivaay who came forward to calm the angry detective "Where is that girl? She has really pissed me off today!"

"Natasha—" Before Shivaay could continue, Natasha marched toward the sitting area and her eyes first fell on Tej and Shakti who were trying to signal her toward Harshvardhan who was sitting frozen on the opposite couch listening to Natasha "Hey Uncle one, Uncle two. Sorry for the language but Annie really pissed me off today. Where is she?"

"Nuts" Annika stood up and that's when Natasha noticed her and frowned at her appearance "What the hell is wrong with your look Annika? This black chain and sindoor and all? Are you in some kind of fancy dress competition or what?"

"Natasha-----" She again tried but that's when Harshvardhan stood up feeling offended at the way Natasha referred to Annika's married look "Who is this?" he asked with a frowning look.

"Who is this?" Natasha asked instead, her eyes frowning confused seeing the man in turban and all so traditional look. What was just going on here?

"He is my father" Annika said meekly "And Papa, she is my friend."

"Oh, you are Annie's father" Natasha beamed up at that and much to everyone's horror came forward and hugged Harshvardhan Trivedi "Nice to meet you uncle. Must say that's an interesting get up."

She smiled while Harshvardhan stood frozen "You guys are enacting some play or what? Annika is all dressed in this typical ITV married woman look?" She chuckled and then pushed the veil that was over Annika's head "You even kept a veil lol?"

"Natasha for once keep quite please" Annika whispered in a low voice but Natasha didn't deter "You look so cute in all this I swear. That red color in your hair partition look like real sindoor damn!"

Annika looked at Shivaay who just didn't know how to stop this talking machine and not create a scene. Natasha doesn't know they are married nor was she aware of how conservative Annika's family was. For her, Annika's family is friend of Oberois. To add to it Harshvardhan doesn't know how they have introduced Annika in the college.

"So, uncle even you are playing a part?" asked Natasha with her beaming smile "You look like those villagers in the movie Lagaan."

"What?" Harshvardhan asked confused "What part? What play?"

"The play for which Annika is dressed like a married woman" said Natasha confused at his reaction but then turned toward Shivaay "What part you are playing Mr. Boyfriend? The city guy coming to woo the village married girl for an extra marital affair" She chuckled at her own joke.

"Great she is even adding taboo in Bhaiya's love story" muttered Rudra, silently chuckling. He always loved it when he isn't the ones to mess up.

"What boyfriend? Whose Boyfriend? He is married" said Harshvardhan, misunderstanding that Natasha was referring Shivaay as her boyfriend.

"He is what?" asked Natasha her eyes widen. Shivaay is married? To whom? What the hell is going on?

"He is my son in law. He is married to my daughter" Harshvardhan Trivedi declared, his protective instinct kicking in thinking another woman, a weird one that to claiming his daughter's husband as her boyfriend. Those cheap things these movies teach the young generation. Girlfriend - Boyfriend. What is happening to this generation?

"Wait—" Natasha said confused "What kind of sick joke is this?" She looked at Annika and then at Shivaay before turning back at Harshvardhan "You are Annika's father?"

Harshvardhan nodded in positive, confused with this weird girl.

"And Shivaay is married to your daughter which is Annika?" She asked again to which Harshvardhan again nodded in positive.

"So Annika is married?" she again asked and Harshvardhan just frowned. What was wrong with these city girls?

"Annika" Natasha turned toward Annika with a face that looked like she have seen ghost "Please tell me, this is just the play's plot?" Annika knew it wasn't worth lying and anyway she wanted to tell her from long.

"I am married- to Sh---him!"

Finally Natasha know Annika is married 🤣
