Author POV

Things in the underground are incredibly sad and overall just depressing. The underground seems in a total depression and Asgore can't figure out why. No matter who he talks to no matter where he goes the overwhelming sadness never is far behind him. 

Even the new royal scientist quit her job super suddenly I might add, packed up everything and left without giving a decent reason for it. Well, it was a good reason but at the wrong time. Asgore wonders what has befallen his kingdom. He will find out even if he has to be a little persuasive with his subjects.

Asgore exits his kingdom and sees the sadness all around even Papyrus who is normally a ball of sunshine is now extinguish like a rock in the ocean. This very strange that is unlike Papyrus regardless of the thing that happened. 

Even Undyne the Royal captain guard was affected by this catastrophe. She is now sulking in her home. Which I last checked it was on fire. Unless she doused the flames with all the tears she cried. When Undyne cries she makes sure she is the best crier, but she hates crying with a passion. Something must have really gotten to her to make her cry at all let alone douse that flaming house.

Then Asgore sees Sans who is awake and is working?! Alright, what happened? I can understand that Papyrus getting sad and Undyne as well but nothing and I mean nothing to get Sans to work as efficiently as he is now. Something big and some drastic happened here. I think I will go to Sans for some information and then to Undyne and finally Papyrus if all else fails.

Asgore's POV

After all that none of them gave anything away. They are apparently too sad to do anything or explain at all. Then I think of something and go to Sans and Papyrus' house expecting it to be a lock but no such thing?! Asgore was determined to figure out why everyone is completely sad. He entered the house and saw a sight that he was amazing at and he even marveled at as well.

It was three humans. Two in a crib and one watching over them and he seems to be holding back tears of his own. Is he the cause of all this sadness if so they why feel so happy in this room. I guess it is the miracle of life but then why does this human look so sad. Then I see something even more baffling. I see Chara?! They see older and more mature and they are looking at those three humans wait I think she is a ghost protecting those children.

"Human how long have you been here and why is my child's spirit watching over you?" I say with venom.

The human looks at me tear in his eyes and a confused look. "What do you mean Chara is dead. She was brought back to life and the died again." He says with utter sadness.

"I know that to be true, well the first part but not the second part. Answer this then why is she watching over the three of you? What make you so important to Chara that she would persist even after death?" I say to them with less venom and with more curiosity.

"Well to put it bluntly. I feel in love with her and she did with me. We have some questionable acts but eventually, she became pregnant and then things got complicated after that. She birthed these two balls of sunshine, but in doing so she lost a lot of determination and alas in my naivety. I ... killed her without even realizing it. I naturally absorb determination through any means necessary. She was a victim of it all but she stood by me and kept me company through the underground and then she died and giving birth." They say to as tears stream down their face.

"Ah, so this is what set my kingdom into utter sadness. Human, there might be a what to save Chara but I cannot guarantee that the resurrection of them with being permanent or at all stable. It's a chance at best, but do you want to take the odds?" I ask them knowing how mad I was when I found this out and couldn't save our child because it was years afterward.

The human looked at me with eyes filled with determination shining brighter that I have seen in a long time. Well technically their eyes were closed but I could feel it. When you have a child like Chara it gets hard not to tell if they were determined or not. It was easy for me to figure out when how they got their determination but I never used it for selfish reasons.

"I have to see her again. Even if but for a moment. I have to say things that were never said. I want to touch her one last time. So for her, I'll take my chances." He says with his determination visible but untouchable like a distant flame.

"Then you must convince both Sans and Alphys to return to Gaster's true Lab. There we will hopefully meet Gaster himself and he should be willing to help too." I say to him heart filling with a lost forgotten kindness sparked.

Frisk POV

"NOW go human. DO what must be done to save your love and meet me at the Lab with both of them." He says to me as he leaves.

My determination is stronger than ever before. It's a chance to see Chara again. I have to take no matter the costs, but is it right to this though? I mean from what Asgore said she is still here watching over us and yet I cannot see her or even feel her presence and Asgore can. So does she want to be resurrected and the risks are detrimental to her and to me even if it does work.

Before I even think about that I need someone to watch over the twins. I think about it, but I think Toriel should do it. She has experiences with children and she can take of them. I smile at my idea and I get them ready to go there immediately. As I am getting them ready, I finally see Chara. A ghostly form and her eyes are gone, or at least from this view they are. I can no longer her determination I guess it's because I literally suck it right off her and killed her. I begin to shake and then I sighed and got them ready and brought them to Toriel.

Toriel was happy to see me and Ask where Chara is. I told her that she was busy right now. She nods and she seems skeptical of my answer but doesn't question it and accepts. I thankful for that but now comes the hard part. Convincing Sans and Alphys to help me. I think I can get Sans to come around but I don't know about Alphys. I wish I knew where she was and she seemed pretty distraught about what happened.

I mean I would be too if our roles are switched but then again things might change drastically. I would completely devastate and even Undyne can't help out of her depression either. She is all by herself, I wonder how she is doing with all of this.

I walk to Undyne's to see if she is there and to my surprise, Undyne is there and Alphys is with her. They seem to be talking and tears and beginning to shed. I should intrude before Undyne begins to cry. If I don't then she might drown her entire house again like she did before when Alphys first went over to her place after the incident.

I walk over to their house and give a soft knock. I hear shuffling and steps closing the door. Undyne opens the door and see me and smiles and beckons me in and I comply. I see Alphys and I freeze up as I see her. I remember everything that happened and tears begin to come but I hold them back and summon my determination.

"Alphys I need your help with something super important," I say a little forceful.

"I know frisk I know what you want and I will help you, but when things are done I want nothing to do with science anymore unless Chara asks me directly or Mettaton asks me. Do you understand Frisk?" She says with the determination of her own.

"I do understand," I say with conviction.

Alphys nodded and nodded towards Undyne. Undyne picked her up and began to lift but before she went outside she kneeled next to me. She looked at me and smiled before saying this,

"I'm not sure where you will find Sans but he should be by Snowdin or Hotland preferably Hotland," Undyne says as she goes and leaves for the Lab. 

I try to run with her but she outpaces me infinitely and I end up in her dust but I manage to find Sans when the dust cleared.

"Sans I was looking for you. Will you help us bring back Chara?" I ask tentatively.

"Frisk I have already been in this timeline it won't work. It has no chance of working." Sans said coldly.

"Yes it will I'll make sure of that and if it fail I'll just load and make sure to do it right then." I say smiling at him.

"You just don't get it. Chara wasn't supposed to be alive now. It was a glitch in the world that brought her here and if you reset then she will vanish and the world will be back to square one, and that is not even the worse part. She will lose all her memories and you will gain back yours. Do you now understand the gravity of what you are attempting to do? You will lose the children Chara bore and you will any chance of bringing her back if you try this."He says with anger.

"Sans do you remember the first timeline and what you told me at the end of it?" I ask him.

"Wait you remember that far?" He questions me.

"That with enough determination anything is possible. I'm going through with it. I have to take this chance or I will regret it all my life and I need your help to do it. If this fail I promise you that I'll won't reset I will continue to live for both me and Chara and raise her children." I said while my determination skyrockets.

"You always did the undoable. Good luck kid you are going to need it and don't worry about me I'll be there just taking a shortcut." He says as he walks the opposite direction of the Lab.

I smile determination renewed and heightened. I smile as I get there and everyone is waiting for me to arrive. The catalyst of hope and of saving Chara. 

I smile as everyone and as everything around me slowly turn black and I collapse.
