Ruhana is excited, nervous and perplexed to go for the job interview. It's natural, she's coming back to her dream after a long time. Yes, her daughter is by her side holding her hand. The girl is the reason of her motivation, inspiration and also luck. Just like Ruhana motivated her daughter to do her best, now, Ruhaani is doing the same. The girl 16-year-old but she understands her mother well and she has decided to be with her at every step of their life altogether.

Ruhana and Ruhaani walk into the office and the former greet the receptionist and asks about the interview. The receptionist glances at them and asks them to take a seat in the waiting lounge while she informs her boss about the interviewees.

As they sit, Ruhana fidgets with her fingers which didn't go unnoticed by her daughter. She smiles and holds Ruhana's hands in hers.

"Mumma, aap kyun itne nervous ho rahe ho? Dekhna sab thik hoga." The girl says, motivating her mom.

"I know beta, lekin darr toh lagega hi na. Itne saal baad kisi job ke liye interview dene aayi hoon. Itna easy nahi hota hai." Ruhana says, clarifying her point.

"Main jaanti hoon, mumma. Par aapne hi kaha tha na ki kabhi kabhi shuru se shuruaat karni padti hain. Ye hamari nayi shuruaat hain. Mere school ke first day pe aapne mujhe yahi samjhaya tha na." Ruhaani says, boring her eyes into her mother's eyes.

Ruhana smiles at her words. Yes, she said that, and the girl is explaining the same thing to her now. She pats Ruhaani's cheek lovingly.

"Itna bada ho gaya mera bacha ki mumma ko samjhane laga!" She says, amazed by the way Ruhaani portrays things to her in a new way.

"Yes Mumma! Abse hum yahi karenge, aap mujhe sambhalna, main aapka khayal rakhungi. Lekiin.....lekin hum hamesha sath rahenge." Ruhaani says, while her mother is touched.

Be it in innocence, she has said a big thing and having her daughter by her side, Ruhana feels more positive than before. Meanwhile, the peon comes to them and asks Ruhana to go in. Ruhaani wishes her luck and Ruhana moves into the cabin of the CEO. She seeks permission before entering the cabin and a deep, masculine voice allows her in. Ruhana enters the cabin and greets the person. But she is surprised at the moment to see the person.

"Vineet- tum Vineet Shergill ho?" Ruhana tries to identify him.

"You got it right! Tum Ruhana ho, right?" Vineet asks.

"Han, I - I didn't know we'll meet like this. " Ruhana smiles.

"Mujhe umeed nahi thi ki hum yun milenge. Kaisi ho tum? Aur yahan Mumbai mein kaise? Tumhari shadi ho gayi thi na Delhi mein?" Vineet asks, he knew it through their common friends.

"Haan, lekin wo ab puraani baatein ho chuki hain, Vineet. Khair, pehle main wo karna chahti hun jiske liye main yahan aayi hoon. " Saying so, she puts her file on the table.

"Maine tumhari add padhi thi that you're hiring fashion designers. And I am here." Ruhana smiles as Vineet takes a look at her file.

"Ah! I remember you had your interest in fashion." Vineet says, looking up at Ruhana.

" Yep! But I couldn't pursue my passion. Shadi hone ke baad passion chhoot gaya kahin. But I'm back to it now." Ruhana smiles confidently.

"That's great! Then, why don't you join the team? You've got good qualifications." Vineet says.

" Aise hi? I mean you don't want to ask any questions." Ruhana asks.

"No! I trust you, plus I really need people like you. Designing toh tumhara passion hain na. So, I'd be glad to have you on my team." Vineet smiles at Ruhana.

Ruhana is elated at his words, he's the one who gives importance to skills and not experiences. Moreover, they turned out to be old college friends. They are meeting after a long period, they have smiles on their faces. Silence prevails between the two which is broken by Ruhana.

"Vineet, hum dost hain ye alag baat hain lekin main tumhari obligation nahi lena chahti. I mean, I came here for an interview. Aur tumne toh kuch pucha hai nahi." Ruhana says, she feels that since they are college mates, he is just giving her the opportunity.

"Mujhe kuch puchne ki zaroorat hi nahi hain, Ruhana. Main tumhe jaanta hoon. Tumse behtar koi ho hi nahi sakta is kaam ke liye." Vineet says.

"20 saal mein bahut kuch badal jaata hain, Vineet. Insaan bhi aur uski pasand bhi. Aur meri life mein bhi bahut kuch badal chuka hain. Isliye main nahi chahti ki meri wajah se staff mein ya tumhare partners mein se koi tumse kuch kahe. Kyunki yahan humne koi interview toh kiya hi nahi hain." She says it all.

"Tum bilkul nahi badli, Ruhana. Khair, tum chinta mat karo. Tumne abhi abhi jo bhi kaha wahi mera jawaab hain. I mean, tumhara interview hain. Usually agar main kisi ko aise hi appoint kar leta toh wo ladki ya even ladka bhi! Khush ho jaata. Lekin tumne jo kaha wo sahi hain. Par ye bhi ek part tha. Jab insaan acha hota hain na Ruhana, toh wo kaam bhi acha karta hain. Aur tum toh bilkul waisi hi ho jaisi 20 saal pehle thi. So, you're appointed as a Team leader, and fashioned esigner offcourse." Vineet smiles at Ruhana.

Ruhana is astonished. Okay, he has his way to test people and he did it with her too. She is glad that this is not an obligation but she has got it with her own efforts, and hard work. Well, hardwork is from the past, but she will do her best now. She looks at him and thanks him.

"Thank you so much, Vineet. Mujhe nahi pata tha ki si sheher mein koi apna-- koi purana dost bhi milega." Ruhana smiles.

" Zindagi aisi hi hoti hain, Ruhana. Anyway, I am glad to meet you. You can join from tomorrow." Vineet smiles at her.

She reciprocates her feelings and takes leave from him. As she steps out, she finds Ruhaani standing outside the cabin. She looks at Ruhana...

"Mumma! Kya hua?" She asks impatiently.

"Tune kaha tha na ki mujhe koi mana nahi kar sakta! I got it." Ruhana says, telling her that she's bagged the job.

"Maine kaha tha na! Aap yunhi darr rahe they." Ruhaani jumps on her toes and squeals with joy.

"Jab tere exams mein bhi mujhe darr lagta hain toh ye toh mera exam tha na, bache. Lekin jab ek beti maa ke sath hoti hain na, toh cheezein badal jaati hain aur zindagi behtar ho jaati hain. Thank you, beta." Ruhana says, as she feels it right.

Ruhaani smiles, she knows her mom is being emotional. Well, she did the right thing, she did what she could do best. Both mother-daughter walk out of the office unaware that Vineet has heard them. But, in the next moment, as both Ruhaani and Ruhana reach the door of the office, a lady says something and her words leave Ruhana shocked while Vineet is raging at the moment. While in the next couple of minutes, Ruhana's answer leaves the lady silent and Vineet is surprised to hear his old friend.
