Chapter #2: Love Moments
Ruhana is glad to have found a home in Mumbai city, though she wants to make her own home soon. She's at peace to have her daughter beside her. They are enough for each other, and her daughter has just proved it. She might be a teenager but Ruhaani is one sensible girl. She reads her mom's mood as if she's her best friend. Ruhana is really lucky.
She's lost in thoughts when Ruhaani nudges her. She comes out of her trance and finds Ruhaani looking at her.
"Where do you get lost, mom?" Ruhaani demands an answer.
"I don't have anyone to think about, except you." Ruhana smiles at her beloved daughter.
"Yeah, I know. Ab noodles do na, bhook lagi hain." Ruhaani whines as if she's a little girl.
Ruhana smiles and serves noodles in two bowls and they set to relish their food. The girl is also checking her mom's file and she's occasionally whistling. Ruhana smiles seeing her excitement. Yes, this is her passion which she couldn't continue after her marriage to Rishabh, Ruhaani's father.
There's no rash thing between them but after Ruhaani's birth, things changed. Their mindsets never thought alike since the beginning, and later things messed up. Ruhana and Rishabh started having quarrels and she thought its best to quit, to move out of the sacred marital bond that she shares with him. And now, here is she - with her daughter, and she feels complete and content.
Ruhana's trance is broken by Ruhaani and the mother-daughter gets busy looking at the designs she has made in the past.

In the other part of the city, there's a big bungalow, owned by a renowned businessman in the fashion industry. He lives with his mother and she happens to be a very kind lady. It's morning, and the young lad, well, not young though, he's in his 40's. He usually gets into a banter with his mom as she wants him to get married and he's still denying it. Today is one such day. He's Vineet Shergill, he's an ace businessman, yet very down-to-earth. He loves his mom and treats the servants in his house as his own family. He's currently taken his maid servant's daughter under his guardianship and got her admitted into a good school.
Vineet and his mother, Vandana are sitting in the garden having their tea. They are talking about silly and daily things until Vandana fixes her gaze at his son. Vineet meets her gaze and sighs deeply. He knows what's coming next.
"Vineet...." Vandana takes his name, and before she could say anything, he shushes her.
"Ma, please! Don't speak. I don't want to talk on that topic." He states clearly.
"Vineet, until when? Aakhir problem kya hain? See yourself in the mirror! What's this beard and all? Han! I mean why can't you marry?" Vandana says, she's irked with the constant denial of marriage from her son.
"Mom! I already told you. Mujhe shadi nahi karni." Vineet states clearly.
"Lekin kyun? Tera business itna acha chal raha hain, hum khush hain, ab kis baat ki kami hain? Us baat ko bhi kitne saal beet gaye! Tu aage kyun nahi badhta?" Vandana says.
"Kyunki main phir se dhokha nahi khana chahta, Ma. Main tabhi shadi karunga jab mujhe kisi se pyaar hoga. Aur usey mujhse! Na ki mere paison se! Iske liye chahe kitna bhi intezar kyun na karna pade, main karunga." Vineet says, there's a light glint of pain in his eyes.
"Vineet beta, kyun tu...." Vandana says, but Vineet cuts her.
"Please Ma, you know why? Aur main khushi aur pyar ke base pe apni zindagi guzarna chahta hoon. Mujhe ek aise jeevansathi ki talaash hain jo na sirf mujhse pyar kare, par mujhe, is ghar ko, hamare business ko bhi sambhal sake, koi aisa, jispe main bharosa kar saku aur wo mujhpe bharosa kare. Sirf paison ke liye koi mujhse pyar kare, mere kareeb aaye, mujhe manzoor nahi. Aur please, us Tina se kehdena mujhe usse shadi nahi karni. Usey keh do mere peeche na ghume. I know, aapne hi bheja tha usey! Lekin pyar zabardasti aur zidd se nahi hota, Ma. Isliye please is baat ko yahin chod do. I request." He joins his hands in front of his mom, requesting her and moves inside the house.
Vandana sighs deeply. Yep! It happened in the past. That's a long story about when this guy was ditched in love. Since then, he's been choosy and prefers to live alone. He has decided to not marry until he finds a soul he falls in love with.
He's still finding a certain person to love- - - the person with whom he can be his real self and live the life he wants.

The next morning arose early. Ruhaani is quite excited. She gets up and dressed early. She hugs her mother who's preparing coffee for herself. Ruhana is surprised.
"Arey! Itni jaldi ready ho gayi! Kya baat hain?" Ruhana asks her daughter.
"Aaj aapka exam....I mean interview hain na! Isliye main bhi aaungi aapke sath." Ruhaani chuckles.
"Uski kya zarurat hain bache, main chali jaungi. Tum apni padhai pe dhyan do." Ruhana says while looking at her daughter.
"Uffo mumma! Mera weekend off hain. Bas aaj hum dono jayenge. Main bhi dekhti hun koi meri mumma ko reject kaise karta hain?" Ruhaani chuckles, she's quite excited to take her mother on her first job interview.
Well, the history seems to repeat. Ruhana held Ruhaani's hand to take her to her first class and here the girl is all set to take her mom into the land of her dreams and passion. Ruhana kisses her daughter's forehead. She's surely touched by her gesture. Usually, kids do not listen to their parents, or worse, leave them alone to face the wrath of the society. But, Ruhaani is different. She's holding her mother's hand when she needs it, really.
Some time later, after finishing up the breakfast, both the mother and daughter leave for their destination - Shergill Fashion Hub. There's walk-in interview and the lady is sure that she will get a chance. In an hour, they reach the office.
Ruhaani holds Ruhana's hand as they enter the office and seek their places in the waiting lounge. It's hard to say how much time did they wait, but soonish, Ruhana hears her name being called. Ruhaani wishes her luck and pushes her, asking her to grab the opportunity.
Ruhana takes baby steps towards the office of the CEO. She's nervous, perplexed and scared too. And that's natural, it seems. It happens with everyone, and to a mother who's coming back to her dream, it is ought to happen. Ruhana knocks the door and a deep, masculine voice allows her to enter the cabin.
Ruhana sets her feet in the cabin, muster a smile and greets the man, who's seated on a chair across her. As their gazes meet, they both are happily surprised, especially Ruhana.
To Be Continued.
Why is Ruhana surprised? Does she know the CEO?
Stay tuned.
