Moving to a new place is always a beautiful change. You get a new environment, new place, new people and new opportunities. It is a surreal feeling when you move to a new place, but for her, it is a must change. It is a fresh start for her. She feels that she may get a few moments of peace along with her daughter.

She is Ruhana Mehra. She's a fashion designer by profession and is a mother to a 16-year-old daughter. Her life lies in her daughter and she can't see anything beyond her. Ever since she got separated from her husband, she has lost all her hope. No, it was not a bad one, but there were some issues which she can't stand with. Now, that, they have parted ways, she is happy with her daughter.

Her daughter's name is Ruhaani and upon her insistence, the mother-daughter has shifted to Mumbai, the city of dreams. Ruhana has taken a small rented flat. She's thankful for the house owner trusted her and let her stay in the apartment. Now, her only motto is to buy a house of her own and for that, she's working hard. With all her savings, she has managed to rent the house and get Ruhaani admitted into a good school. Now, she must pursue her passion, for, she needs a job to survive in this metrocity.

Ruhana is lost in her thoughts when her daughter sits beside her and hugs her, placing her head on her shoulder. She keeps her hand on her daughter's cheek.

"Mumma! Kya soch rahe ho?" The girl asks.

"Main bas ye soch rahi hoon ki main ek job dhundh loon apne liye!" Ruhana says while looking at Ruhaani.

"Oh yes! Aur aapki problem ka solution hain mere pas!" Ruhaani chuckles.

"Really! Aur kya hain wo?" Ruhana asks, smiling at her daughter.

She thought that her daughter will pull some tantrums to make her smile. She's doing the same for many months now. But, to her surprise, the girl shows her an advertisement in the newspaper. The ad is of fashion company and they're currently hiring for a fashion designer.

"Go here. I'm sure, unko aap jaise logon ki zaroorat hogi." Ruhaani points at the paper.

"But it sound big, beta! Na jaane kaise hoga? Aur phir main toh practice mein bhi nahi hoon." Ruhana says dejectedly.

"Kisne kaha? Bachpan se leke aaj tak aap hi meri stylist ho. Mere liye toh aap best fashion designer ho. Isliye jao! Aur unko batao what you can do!" Ruhaani says, boosting up her mom.

"It's not that easy, bache!" Ruhana says, her eyes fixed on the newspaper.

"Aapne hi sikhaya tha ki life mein kuch bhi easy nahi hota hai. Usey easy banana padta hain. Toh aap kyun soch rahe ho ki aap nahi kar sakti. You can do! Aap hi aisa karoge toh main kahan jaungi, mumma?" Ruhaani says, trying to convince her mom.

"Mumma! Don't worry. Main hoon na, aapke sath. Aur jab hum dono sath mein hain toh sab kuch acha hoga. Aur waise bhi ab toh main aur aap hi hain na ek-duje ke liye." Ruhaani says and Ruhana smiles at her daughter.

The girl is merely 16 years old but she understands her mother well. She knows the bad relationship with her dad has weakened her mom, but she won't let her fall apart. She knows her mother needs someone by her side so that she can start the new phase. She has been a committed wife and a mother, but her father didn't care about her. He didn't let her(Ruhana) feel that she's his wife. They had quarrels, he didn't let her pursue her dreams and that's why Ruhana is fearful. Ruhaani holds Ruhana's hand.

"Mumma! Ab sab kuch acha hoga. Aur haan, kal hum is office mein jayenge. Main bhi dekhti hoon wo log meri mumma ko reject kaise karte hain! Main aapki file nikaalti hoon. Aap noodles bana do na! Bahut bhookh lagi hain." Ruhaani says to her mother and she nods.

Ruhaani runs into their bedroom while Ruhana moves into the kitchen. She smiles to herself, maybe, she might get to pursue her passion if she visits, Shergill Fashion Hub, the name of the company.

She knows her daughter is excited and she is convincing her as she used to do with Ruhaani in her childhood.

Obviously, she can't break now. Her daughter is with her and she has no reason to be fearful. She sighs deeply, yes, this could be a new start in her life, where she'll live for herself and her daughter.

She smiles to herself, what's better than living a life on her own terms. Also, she has a daughter who understands her the way no one does. Maybe, the new chapter brings a lot of happiness for the mother-daughter duo.
