Over the mountain
The next morning, Po woke up with a yawn and a million thoughts going through his head on what he would do if Tai Lung was indeed back in the valley and how he was going to phrase the goodbye to Madame Zhou so that it didn't come across as rude or judgmental. However, after sitting at the kitchen table for a moment, his thoughts were interrupted by Tai Lin suggesting an all day mountain hike.
"I think only a few of us have actually been up in the mountains Shifu mentioned," she explained. "I think it's be fun if we all went up together."
"That'd be fun," Po admitted.
"And an appropriate activity considering that Ming and Superintendent Woo are to help with some of the interior decorating of the Hall of Warriors...again," Shifu told the group.
The masters let out barely audible growns of frustration.
"If Ming's going to be nitpicking everything, maybe we should all go on a hike," Monkey suggested hopefully.
"It certainly would be a nice training exercise," Shifu admitted. "And a good break. But unfortunately we can't do that today."
"Man!" Monkey grumbled.
"When do we want to go up?" Leopard asked. "It's a bit chilly this morning, but I know Ming can be a pain-"
"We can bring a few blankets; it won't be a big deal," Tai Lin interrupted. "Or a scarf. Personally a little cold air doesn't bother me, but I'm also used to it. I figured we could pack a nice big basket of food and just spend the day around the mountainside and come back for dinner."
"But we'll be up there all day!" Destiny cried.
"That's the point of an all-day hike, dear," Madame Zhou told her. "Dawn to dusk."
"My idea of all day is 8 to 4. Even school doesn't keep me in that long! Of course then again I'd probably prefer a hike to school."
"Great!" Tai Lin said with a big wide smile. "We can get started right after breakfast then."
"Uh-" Po started, but the rest of the girls were busy being as equally startled, so no one could hear the rest of what he said.
"Tai Lin, I'm all for the enthusiasm, but we should at least let our food digest!" Jai-Rong told the snow leopardess. "Cramps aren't fun."
"And I'd like for Po to not stray too far from the Jade Palace today, since I'd like to consult him on some things later this afternoon," Shifu interjected.
"I suppose," Tai Lin relented. "Well, if we start early, we can have more time to see the all the sights, so better now than never I say!"
"Jai-Rong does have a point though," Mantis added while Po swallowed his food in an effort to speak. "At least wait a half hour or so before making that kind of hike. Especially since Po tires out easily."
"Oh, he'll be fine," Tai Lin said nonchalantly. "Though I suppose it doesn't hurt to wait a few minutes. I'll wait over by the path for you guys."
As she got up to clean her dishes, Xiao-Niao told her that she might wait a while since they still had to pack lunch food and snacks. However, Tai Lin responded to that by saying she had already packed.
"I was excited about it," she explained. "And I figured with Ming here there'd be no complaints. So I jumped the gun, I admit."
Tai Lin then reached behind one of the large pots in the corner and pulled out a giant picnic basket which was clearly filled to the brim with food and drink.
"You said hike, not camping, right?" Po asked quickly.
"Of course! You forget there's eleven of us, Po."
She the turned and left the kitchen, leaving the room in a stunned silence. After a while, Kay quietly said, "I'll go talk to her," and silently got up with her cheeks burning red to run out after the snow leopard. The rest of the table eventually resumed eating with Tigress grumbling to absolutely nobody in particular: "I don't like this set-up."
The group eventually finished breakfast and the girls made their way outside with Po to look for Tai Lin. They had sat at the table for a few minutes just to let their stomach rest since Tai Lin clearly wanted to get started on the hike the second breakfast was over. They were a bit curious as to why she was in such an eager rush to hike, but Po wondered if it had anything to do with the rush of excitement over the past few days.
"I suppose that would make sense," Snow Leopard said, though she clearly didn't look convinced. "But she's usually pretty flexible and laid back. Not hyperactive and dizzying."
"I could get used to it," Lu-Shi admitted. "I like an energetic person. Makes everything more fun."
They walked past the main grounds and the front gate and finally reached Tai Lin who was pacing back and forth on the grass. Kay was sitting behind her just watching her move. Every so often she'd open her mouth to speak, but nothing came out and she'd re-lower her finger that she had raised. She spotted the group first and looked relieved, and when Tai Lin turned and spotted them, she stopped and excitedly yelled out "Great! You're ready! Let's move! We have so much of the mountain to cover and only so many hours of daylight!"
"You know we could always hike again tomorrow, sweetie," Madame Zhou reminded her. "We don't need to make a marathon out of it."
"And miss all the great views? The sky won't be like this tomorrow! We should take advantage of it now! Besides, what if it rains tomorrow?"
"It's not going to rain tomorrow!" Ordai protested. She glanced up at the sky and squinted before adding, "Well, not yet anyway..."
"Arguing won't do anything. Let's just hit the trails and start smelling the roses, yeah?" Tai Lin suggested and she quickly made her way up the trail with the picnic basket. The rest of the group looked at each other but then followed right after her up into the mountains when they heard Ming's voice off in the far distance. Destiny was too distracted staring in the sky at in the direction Ordai had been, but was quickly snapped out of it when Xiao-Niao called out to her and quickly made her way after the group.
It was certainly chilly out that morning, but a pleasant hike had never deterred anyone before. And so they set off up the hill and over the plains on the Wu Dan mountains. Po was definitely a little winded once they finally got past the first path and onto the lower half of the mountains, but after a few minutes of rest (which he insisted on to Tai Lin's slight reluctance), he was back on his feet and walking through the mountains. Since the majority of the area was settled between the different slopes of the mountain, the ground was more level and thus it was quite easy to simply walk around and sight-see. Po pointed out all the different places where Shifu had trained him with kung fu, and even mentioned what exercises they did. Most of them involved food, though Po explained that once he started to get the hang of kung fu, physical food became less and less of a motivator.
"So does that mean you envision all your enemies as walking noodles or vegetables?" Lu-Shi asked with a laugh. "That's be pretty awesome!"
"Not really," Po admitted as they turned past a grove of trees and walked over to the side of the cliff where some of the branches hung down over the edge. "Well, every once in a while, but that comes so naturally now I don't really need to visualize food to get myself running for my life."
Lam walked over towards the edge of the cliff and looked down. "Oh wow! There's a whole other path down here!" she exclaimed as she admired the river running down the side of the mountain and a few lovely bushes who were more than happy to get sprayed by the nearby mini waterfalls winding about.
"Yeah, but watch your footing," Po told her walking up to sit down on the edge of the cliff next to her. "I fell a couple of times trying to train and the landing isn't exactly comfy.... I definitely sprained my shoulders more than once."
"That's understandable, considering the drop," Snow Leopard said as she and the rest of the girls walked over to look down at the scene Lam had pointed out. "This must be at least 18 or 20 feet high."
Destiny leaned over to get a better view of the bottom. "Hey there's a path over there!" she suddenly noticed. "We could take that way d-AAAAAHHHHH!"
She suddenly slipped over the edge and went toppling down with a terrified scream. Po lunged over to grab her, only to get dragged down with her. He was then grabbed by Ordai who was then grabbed by Snow Leopard who was then grabbed by Madame Zhou. All this accomplished though was slowing down the fall by a few seconds and dragging all five of them down to the grass below.
"Oh no please not again!" Tai Lin cried as the rest of the girls peered over the edge, though they were relieved to see movement from down below rather than anything gut-wrenching.
"Are you okay?!" Lam yelled down. "Who's hurt?!"
"Just my pride!" Po reassured her from within the dog pile that had formed. He groaned. "I should have been more cautious on that one."
"I think I coughed up my spleen," Destiny gasped as she crawled out from underneath everyone.
Fortunately, aside from some minor bruising and a dislocated shoulder with Ordai, no one had reallly been hurt. The girls still high above on the cliff told them to wait while they took the path down and disappeared out of view. Snow Leopard took the opportunity to stretch out her legs and massage a bruise on her knee from the tumble while Madame Zhou decided to lay down and rest her head from the dizzying tumble. Destiny just profusely apologized.
"Well, you're fortunate no one's injured," Ordai told her. "Next time just try not to look so far over the edge."
She winced as Po finished putting her shoulder blade back in the right spot, (something he knew how to do after receiving that injury multiple times during his initial training), but then moved it about with a relieved look. "Thanks, Po," she said, and she gave the master a quick kiss on the cheek before walking over to the bushes lining the water.
"Wait...are you guys a thing?" Destiny questioned.
"Huh? Oh, no. Not...I'm not official with anybody. Ordai just likes showing affection that's all."
"Wait, we're allowed to do that?! Man, I've really been out of the loop!"
"Po's let me do it because we got to know each other better and he's comfortable with it," Ordai called over. "I can imagine that would vary depending on person and feeling."
Destiny turned to Po to ask a question, but then paused smirked and said, "Right, no, you said your first kiss was Ming, right?"
Ordai, Zhou, and Leopard all turned to look over in surprise on hearing this.
"Ming?" Snow Leopard repeated. "I didn't realize you two had that kind of history."
"We don't," Po explained in slight embarrassment and irritation at the recollection of the memory. "Monkey used to like her...brieflly...and I pulled a real bad joke on him and tried to fix it by setting them up and...well, it backfired."
"Huh. Funny she didn't brag about that on the way over," Ordai noted.
"Yeah, well the whole thing was weird and uncomfortable, so I'm personally glad," Po admitted. "Nothing like a bad first kiss."
"Say what now?" came Jai-Rong's voice as she and the rest of the girls made their way down the slope. They had caught the tail end of the conversation and some were now curious to know the details.
"Po and Ming kissed once," Destiny explained. "Against Po's will."
"Seriously?!" Tai Lin exclaimed.
"Yep. You know, I should ask her about that."
"Please don't," Po begged.
Lam laughed. "I feel sorry for you, Po," she commented. "Here's hoping she doesn't try it again."
"If she does anything awful to Po I'll make sure Grandmaster Shifu deals with her," Ordai snarled. "What kind of psycho just kisses someone randomly and expects them to immediately enjoy it and like them?!"
"You'd be surprised," Tai Lin answered flatly.
Leopard rolled her eyes. "Ming isn't a psycho if it was a misunderstanding," she assured Ordai. "And quite honestly, given her behavior for the past few weeks, I'd say she's been surprisingly good about maintaining boundaries."
Tai Lin scoffed but said nothing else.
"That doesn't mean you need to like her," Snow Leopard added in reply to that.
Po rubbed his sore arm and got up to show everyone the clearing that they had just entered (and fallen into for some of them). A few of the girls decided to admire the river, though since the mountain air made it a bit chillier than normal, they opted to stay out of the water for the time being. Po promised that in the late summer it usually was a lot better to splash in the river. Kay took an immediate liking to the flowers growing alongside the river and asked if they could stay there for lunch since it was so pretty. Po agreed since they weren't too far from the path and there was plenty to explore in that vicinity to keep them occupied for the next hour or so. So he showed them some of the caves that were nearby, the bamboo forest that sat peacefully tucked beneath some of the higher rocky slopes of the mountain, and even showed everyone where he had slept when Shifu trained him. (It was a bit of a walk ahead, but still had a nice view of the sunrise from that particular spot). Afterwards, they headed back in the direction of the river with the group asking Po all kinds of questions about how he trained and how difficult it was to train and which training spot was his favorite. When Po mentioned the High rocks of center and harmony, Tai Lin requested to see them after lunch. Po was a bit reluctant since they were a bit of a ways off, but decided that they could trek up the cliff to see it and then circle back down and around so that Po could see if Shifu needed to tell him something. (Po just said it was a border issue Shifu wanted to clarify with him in case it was something serious).
The picnic Tai Lin had packed definitely had enough food for 11 people, but Po also found out that there was a big variety of food which was the reason for the basket being so heavy, not that Tai Lin complained that much or even made mention of it. She had packed sweet and sour fried tofu, steamed dumplings, rice, mixed vegetable spring rolls, bean paste balls covered in spicy gravy, and a sponge cake. Po's mouth watered at the smell of the food and the rest of the group were in awe at the amount that was in the basket.
"You have enough food to feed an army twice over!" Madame Zhou exclaimed in surprise. "Did you sleep last night at all after making all this?"
"Probably," Tai Lin said. "I'm awake, so let's assume yes."
She then started taking a serving of food and the rest of the group followed suit. They ate and talked for a little over an hour before finally putting the food away, which was still a considerable amount since Tai Lin had prepared a ton of food for everyone. Po figured he could put them in the ice cellar in the kitchen so that it would keep for a few days and so that they could eat them the next day. Or if Viper wanted, she could heat up the leftovers for dinner. He'd have to figure that out on the way back. The group then rested their stomachs for a little bit before getting up and heading back towards the entrance of the Wu Dan mountain. Po, as promised, made his way towards the High Rocks where he had trained with Shifu, though it took nearly an hour to get all the way to the bottom of the cliffs because of the high elevation and the need for a few of the girls, not used to the trek, to stop and catch their breath. However, they soon reached the bottom and Po showed them how Shifu made him climb up to the top in order to train, which helped him build strength in his arms and abdomen. The girls were very impressed and invested in the story, but Tai Lin wound up taking the exploration a bit further by attempting the climb up the steep rocks herself. (Which wound up not working since it was a near vertical climb up and she didn't have that kind of arm strength). She made it half way up before falling down to the ground where Po quickly caught her to avoid someone having another injury.
"Thanks, Po," Tai Lin said gratefully. "The fact that you can do that is pretty impressive. That's tough!"
Madame Zhou chuckled. "Let me show you how it's done, dear," she stated, and before Po could even protest, she had started leaped up a quarter of the way onto the rock formation and started to steadily climb to the top. The other girls watched her for a moment before Snow Leopard said, "Excuse me for a moment, Master Po." and then joined in the climb. Lu-Shi excitedly joined in the fun and hopped onto a third rock formation close to them in order to get to the top, though since she didn't have the practice nor the strength, she was much slower. Destiny decided to turn it into a game and tried to climb up a pillar as well, but Destiny didn't have nearly the same balance or grip the other four climbers had and fell flat on her back before she could even get four feet off the ground.
"I need to practice," she huffed.
"There's a path up to the cliff," Kay pointed out to her and pointed a hesitant finger towards the path off in the distance that circled around to the giant cliff in front of them which led to the top of the rock formations Zhou, Leopard, and Lu-Shi were attempting to climb.
"Running it is!" Destiny exclaimed, and immediately took off down the path.
"Oh. Yeah," Po said sheepishly. "I guess I'm just used to Shifu always making me do things the hard way. Actually, wait for me!" and he immediately ran after Destiny. Tai Lin laughed and walked after them with Kay in tow. Ordai looked at her hanfu and back at the rock formation before deciding to hike up the path, not wanting to risk stepping on her dress and tumbling down to the ground. Jai-Rong decided to slither up the rock formation (an exercise she was more-or-less used to), while Lam hitched a ride on Xiao-Niao's shoulder and let her carry her up the path up the cliff. Madame Zhou got up the rock pretty fast, but Snow Leopard, who had more of an advantage with climbing, managed to reach the top of the rock formation first just as Po wheezed and huffed up to the top with Destiny following close behind after a few minutes and Kay and Tai Lin following behind them. Xiao-Niao and Lam followed behind after that just as Zhou reached the top and Lu-Shi made her way up last just a few seconds behind Jai-Rong.
"You're good at this!" she noted as Jai-Rong huffed onto the top of the rock formation. "How often do you climb up rocks?"
"You'd be surprised," Jai-Rong said. "Mail business puts a lot of weird things in your way."
Snow Leopard stretched her arms above her head as far as possible. "That felt really nice," she said. "I don't think I've had this good of a workout since I ran circles around Po that one week."
"Yeah, you're scary in combat," Po noted nervously.
Tai Lin looked at the big gap between the rock formation and the cliff she was standing on and asked, "So have you ever attempted to jump between here and there?" she asked.
"Um, well yes, but I wouldn't attempt it," Po warned. "That's a pretty big gap and don't want anybody else freefalling to the ground."
Tai Lin laughed and immediately ran and leaped off the cliff which caused Po to freak out, but Tai Lin managed to grab hold of the edge of the rock formation, slipped a little bit, and then pulled herself up next to Madame Zhou.
"Tai Lin!" Po cried. "Don't do that again! You scared the daylights out of me!"
"Sorry," Tai Lin apologized. "I have a lot of energy today and I thought I'd use it."
"Well let's not be young and reckless, my dear," Madame Zhou told her, patting her shoulder. "Granted, I used to be like that as a young woman myself, but there's no need for you to go about taking stupid risks."
"I'm not good at a lot of things, but running I can do," Tai Lin told her flatly. "You don't need to be a hypocrite and lecture me."
"Tai Lin," Snow Leopard scolded. "There's no reason to be rude. We just don't want to see you fall and hurt yourself is all. That's a big drop and you'd definitely break something."
Tai Lin sighed. "Sorry," she apologized. She forced a smile and added, "Here we are hiking and I'm being grumpy. Clearly I need to fix that."
She then ran and leaped back over to the cliff Po was at, though she once again missed the ledge and had to climb up with the aid of her claws. Po just heaved a huge sigh of relief that she got up safely while Tai Lin turned to admire the view. She told everyone they should climb up the cliff to admire the sunset, but Po said that was something they'd need to plan another day since Shifu needed to talk to him about the border dispute. The group slowly made their way down the cliff and began the long trek back around the Wu Dan mountains to get back to the Jade Palace. However, they found themselves making a lot of pit stops whenever Tai Lin would take detours to explore a new area she hadn't seen or Destiny would get distracted by a wading pool or Kay would admire a patch of flowers they passed by on either the main path or a detour. So by the time they left the Wu Dan mountains and made it to the main grounds of the Jade Palace, it was nearly dinner time and most of the group was physically exhausted.
"I'm gonna' lay on my bed for a moment," Lu-Shi sighed as they reached the kitchen. "Let me know when dinner is ready."
"Why not just wait in the kitchen?" Leopard suggested. "It'd be less of a walk."
Lu-Shi sighed, but agreed. When everyone finally dragged themselves into the kitchen, they saw the Furious Five hanging around and chatting, though they looked startled at the disheveled group.
"You look wiped out!" Viper was first to remark. "I thought you weren't going to go far today because of the border breach."
"That was the plan," Po told her, sitting down at the table with a gasp for air. "We got sidetracked."
Monkey laughed. "Looks like you all already have something in common," he joked. "However will Po decide?"
"I had a blast," Tai Lin remarked, tossing the basket on the counter and taking out the leftovers. "With all this food, we should do this again tomorrow!"
"Uh, no!" Jai-Rong immediately yelled. "I mean, I love hiking, but we've literally been doing a lot of heavy-duty walking and we need to rest from that!"
"Yeah, she has a point," Mantis added. "Even Shifu doesn't make us do the same exercise repeatedly or even to the same extremity, otherwise we'd hurt ourselves. That's why some days we do meditating or tai chi instead of kung fu."
"Well we can't keep the leftovers for long," Tai Lin said matter-of-factly. "If we don't eat them, they'll go bad."
"I can reheat them for lunch," Viper promised, taking the food and pulling up the cellar door off in the corner of the kitchen to store it.
Tai Lin sighed and sat down in a chair looking just as equally fatigued as the rest of the group while Po glanced around the kitchen. "Is Tigress doing more Dragon Warrior training?" he asked. "I don't see her or Shifu."
"They're doing meditative training," Viper said.
"Actually, speaking of Tigress, I'd be mindful of what you say to her," Crane added. "She's having a mood."
Po looked concerned. "Like, a mood where a few good punches should get her to be calmer or a mood where I should probably hide all my action figures in case she gives me a five hour lecture-well, if I could find them."
"A mood as in she didn't calm down when Master Shifu tried to reason with her and she destroyed the entire training hall in a blind fury instead of attending our morning lesson because she didn't want to risk punching our lights out," Mantis said.
"Oh......That mood. What did I do this time?"
"It had nothing to do with you," Viper promised. "She was mad at Shifu because he told us all about the border dispute this morning after breaching you on it yesterday."
"Why should she be mad about that?" Ordai asked. "That's her job."
"Right," Mantis said. "That's her job as Dragon Warrior. And she found out Shifu told Po first."
"Ohhhhhhhhh," Po said, now fulling understanding the issue. "Yeah, okay. I can see why."
"Shifu felt pretty bad too," Monkey added. "I don't think he realized he made that mistake until after she decided to stay back in the training hall. So now they're doing Dragon Warrior training to help her calm down."
"Gotcha," Po said.
Ordai rolled her eyes. "You know, if she's so offended over Po being the previous Dragon Warrior and having more experience with border problems, maybe she should have a sabbatical from being Dragon Warrior to think over the privilege," she said.
"And maybe you need another sparring session on Firetop Hill," Tigress snapped, entering the kitchen.
"Why do people always have to come in just as I'm saying something that happens to offend them for no reason?!" Ordai complained.
"I chose Tigress as Dragon Warrior because she's loyal and courageous and because I trust her to protect people to the very end," Po spoke up in the Dragon Warrior's defense. "I get that you liked it when I was Dragon Warrior, but I don't want you insulting one of my best friends because she has a small temper sometimes."
Tigress smiled. "Thank you, Po," she said. "That makes me feel better."
Shifu walked into the kitchen with a displeased look on his face. "And if you have a problem with my students, Ordai," he said sharply. "I have no problem with sending you packing either." He glanced at the very exhausted group and added, "Not right this second of course since you all look absolutely winded, but I'd have no problem with sending you packing tomorrow morning."
"Well then I'm glad Po's not as judgmental of me," Ordai said. She smiled. "Right, Po?"
"I don't mind if you want to stay," Po said, not wanting to get caught up in any debates. "But these are my friends and they do a good job at protecting the valley, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult them behind their backs. I mean...not that you do it often, but you seem to have a real issue with Tigress for some reason. Um actually, speaking of which, how are you doing Tigress? Everyone said you were kind of grumpy this morning."
"We've settled that," Shifu promised. "I panicked and turned to you for help when this isn't even something of your main concern. I should have told you as back up, so I've apologized for that and we've come to a better understanding for the future, is that not so, Dragon Warrior?"
"Correct," Tigress agreed. "I need to really work on my temper, even if I feel offended."
"And I need to better work on who to properly address in an emergency since Po is no longer Dragon Warrior," Shifu added. "The first possible emergency we've had and I completely forget to ask Master Tigress first. A mistake I will not be repeating in the future."
He went and sat down at the table while Viper added a few more spices to to the food she was prepping on the stove.
"What's going on with the border?" Snow Leopard asked curiously.
"Nothing too serious I hope," Shifu assured her. "Just a brief scare that might amount to nothing."
"Is it ninjas?!" Destiny cried.
"What is it with you and ninjas?" Mantis questioned.
"It's not ninjas," Shifu promised. "Just an old foe I thought might potentially be back, but we'll be getting more information on that soon I trust."
"An old foe I know or one that's more familiar to your students?" Snow Leopard asked.
"I don't want to startle anyone, so-" Shifu began, but Monkey interrupted him and said they thought it might be Tai Lung, which in turn caused Shifu to give him a look. Monkey apologized but said since they were in private company and it was unlikely it might not be a big deal. The girls looked shocked at this idea.
"I thought he was Wuxi Fingered!" Xiao-Niao cried.
"Are we going to have to kick his butt?!" Lu-Shi exclaimed.
"We?" Tigress repeated with a raised eyebrow.
"How do you know this?" Leopard asked.
"We don't," Shifu corrected. "A guard informed us that a young man had his chi frozen with a very special block, so he's being transferred to Red Pass so a more experienced master can help him."
"Oh, it's one of those chi blocks-"
Tai Lin quickly excused herself to the bathroom and got up and left the kitchen. Everyone stared after her.
"She's been acting odd all day," Ordai noted with a frown. "I don't really like that."
"Finally, something we can agree on," Tigress said.
"Yeah, that was weird," Destiny said. "Maybe she knows him-oh wait, that's right. She said they've met before."
"They have?!" Shifu exclaimed.
"Yeah, I guess he attacked a village she happened to be staying at and he taught her how to freeze chi-wait! What if he's secretly her dad and that's why he's so nice to her!"
"That's not even remotely possible," Tigress replied flatly. "At least it better not be."
"Tai Lin's dad died over fifteen years ago," Leopard reminded her. "And Tai Lung is only fourteen years older than her, so even if he did have a kid, I'm sure someone would have been aware of that."
"I'd like to have a word with anyone who thinks having that kind of responsibility or "fun" at that age is appropriate," Shifu scowled in disapproval.
"So no," Mantis summarized. "Not plausible."
Destiny sighed. "Yeah, I guess," she said. "Oh! Or what if he's her brother!"
"Tai Lung was orphaned and abandoned as a week old baby," Shifu said. "According to the note that was left with him. Even if he did have a sibling, it'd have to be someone much older than him or someone exactly his age."
"Ugh, fine. Ooh! Or what if he was an old beau of hers and they had a tragic romance?!"
"After meeting once during an attack?" Mantis asked incredulously.
"Sounds like something she'd do," Ordai butted in.
"Or maybe that guy who had his chi frozen is Tai Lin's sweetheart and Tai Lung tried to murder him because he saw Tai Lin and wanted to marry her and now he has a rival because they both survived and he's back in town and wants Tai Lin to be all his!"
"Destiny...." Lam started.
"Or maybe Po didn't use the Wuxi Finger correctly and thus Tai Lung was secretly plotting for years to build up an army by recruiting greedy civilians who could exploit orphan girls and decided to follow Tai Lin around while in her weakened state and teach her chi moves that he's learned so that one day he may become supreme warlord of China and make her his warlordess and rule as the ultimate power couple and have a bunch of snow leopard babies to carry on his treacherous legacy!"
"Brushes down, Destiny," Jai-Rong said.
