The conference ended the next day. Amelia and Link fell into bed twice more before leaving for Seattle. They did agree on one thing though, not a soul could know about their Alternative Pain Relief. Both of them promised each other that they would not utter a single word about this. It would be their own little secret.

Amelia woke up the next day in the comfort of his arms. She was having an inner battle whether to wake him up or not. She finally settled on quietly and cautiously leaving his bed without his knowledge. She tried to extricate herself from his strong, muscular arms without waking him up but it was pretty futile. He just didn't budge!! She somehow was successful in moving him, gathered her clothes and as quietly as a mouse, left the room. She had a long flight to catch.

She was seated in the business class so thankfully not many people were there. She thought that the seat next to her would remain empty but again God had some other business on His mind. It seemed as if he liked playing games with her!!

They were waiting for a passenger who appeared to be late! This is so annoying! How can a person be late for his flight?, Amelia thought. But who was she to judge. She was always late when Meredith carpooled. She always made Maggie and Meredith wait for as long as fifteen minutes for her. She silently chuckled. It's not her fault that she is so in love with her sleep. I mean, who doesn't like sleep? Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt a weight shift beside her. She looked up and saw none other than the man who had just made her scream like no one ever had a few hours ago.

Amelia was rendered speechless. She just wanted to avoid him up until she reached to the confines of her home and only had to face him in the hospital. That too very rarely.

They continued staring at each other until the air hostess asked them to fasten their seat belts. Minutes seemed to pass but not a single word was uttered. Amelia was getting impatient. She carefully turned her face towards him only to catch his eyes staring right back at her with a soft and teasing smile on his face. God only knows what's going on in that dirty mind of his. Look at the way he's smiling. Is he mocking me? Amelia got flustered and quickly turned her face to hide her blush. She was acting like a teenager!! Stupid.

Link's elation knew no bounds when he saw who he was seated next to. Honestly, he was more than slightly disappointed when he woke up to an empty bed. He wanted to take her to breakfast and have a nice conversation with her. She seemed really interesting. Her moans still rang in his ear. God this woman!
Amelia's nervousness was quite entertaining. How she was itching to say something but chose not to made him grin. Finally she grew tired of the silence and turned his way only to catch him looking at her. A pinkish hue slowly crept up her neck and cheeks and she hurriedly turned her face. I want to kiss her sooo badly right now and run my hands through her pink cheeks!

Finally to make her comfortable he initiated the conversation. " Are you okay? "

She turned his way with wide eyes and slightly nodded. A few seconds passed before she ultimately found her voice and said, " Sorry for leaving this morning without saying anything. I hope you understand? "
" Of course, it was a one-time thing. It was only fair for you to leave. " He couldn't agree with what he said but he had to alleviate her worries. She seemed to relax at that statement but he caught an emotion pass her eyes for a second before she guarded her expression. Did she seem sad for a second there? Or is it just me?

They soon got relaxed and chatted with each other endlessly. Amelia was thoroughly enjoying his company. She hadn't laughed so much since...she couldn't even remember since when!! He had a very easy-going personality and they hit it off right away, both of them very talkative. It was a three hour flight and they talked for about an hour. Just random things whatever came to mind, nothing too personal. Next thing she knew, her eyelids stared to droop down. She started feeling drowsy. She hadn't slept much last night because obviously both of them were up to no good. She remembers her eyes closing and then everything turned to black.

Link was narrating a funny incident regarding Schmitt doing something silly yet again during his recent surgery when he noticed that Amelia was not responding. He otherwise heard her laugh occasionally. He turned his head to see a content and peaceful expression on her face while she slept. She looked serene. He just couldn't take his eyes off her. Suddenky her head starting falling off of her seat and was now lolling slightly. He quickly moved back slightly so she could rest her head on his shoulder, careful not to disturb her sleep. He felt her body relax against him and he made himself comfortable without moving her. He laid his head on top of hers and closed his eyes feeling tired as he like her didn't get much sleep ;)

Next thing he knows someone is softly calling him, "Sir. Sir. SIR !! Please wake up. The flight is about to land. You need to fasten your seat belt. Please wake your girlfriend up too." He groggily opened his eyes and smiled slightly in direction of the hostess. He doesn't even remember how long it has been. For how long was I asleep? This was one of the best naps I've had recently! All of a sudden he became aware of the weight resting on his right side. He smiled at Amelia's blissfully sleeping figure. She was occupying almost the whole of his right side. Her head rested on his shoulder with a heavy weight and she was now almost fully turned towards him. Her arms were wrapped around his right arm supporting her upper body to his side.

She looked so peaceful, just like a child that he couldn't bring himself to wake her up. But the sharp stare of the air hostess who didn't seem to take a hint just stood there, not leaving their side. He finally called out her name. She hummed and sank deeper into his neck. He could feel a bulge arising in his pants due to her soft breath on his neck. I have to wake her up before I embarrass myself in front of two women!! He called her name a bit loudly.

" Amelia. Amelia. Ameliaaa!!" He slightly shook her shoulder. She sleepily opened her captivating eyes and smiled at him. He was getting lost in her eyes when the hostess loudly cleared her throat. Oh give us a damn break. Take a hint!! Just leave already and let us have a moment!! Stupid lady.

The spell was now broken and Amelia realised her surroundings and she rapidly sat up. She smoothed her hair and straightened her clothes looking anywhere but at him. He caught a faint blush appearing on her pale skin. Huh. She seems to blush a lot in my presence. Great. He silently chuckled.

They didn't talk much throughout the landing. Link was trying to read her thoughts but suddenly a wall seemed to build up around her mind and she guarded her emotions. Her demeanor took a 180° turn but her behaviour towards him was somewhat the same. He helped her with her luggage at the belt and waited with her till her cab arrived. I know it was just a one-time thing but I've never felt this spark with anyone before. We just have a connection. I hope she doesn't go back to avoiding me in the hospital.

Amelia was grateful that Link seemed to understand and didn't speak on their way out the airport. She couldn't deny the obvious attraction she felt towards him and their connection. Oh their connection!! But she guarded her feelings as she just got out of a messy breakup and didn't need to add more to her pile. The last thing she wanted was to use Link as her rebound. He was a really good man and she just felt protective of him. She didn't want him to get hurt, least of all by her.

She was impressed by this gentleman who waited for her till she got inside her cab. When he leaned in for a goodbye hug, she couldn't bring herself to deny it. She hugged him back and it was getting intense. She could feel it. She had never felt like this before but she had to avoid him. The high seemed to last longer and longer by the second and his arms tightened around her waist. She had to go now before one thing led to another.

Amelia waved him goodbye and smiled at him. Her cab left the airport but she could still feel his lingering gaze and his soft touch on her skin. CONTROL AMELIA!! You have to control your mind.

Link gave her rapidly disappearing cab one last look before moving towards his own cab. All the while a certain brunette with sparkly blue eyes clogged his thoughts and didn't plan on leaving soon.
Control yourself Link!! She just came out of a very public and humiliating breakup. She already has too much on her plate. After all it was just pain management for her. She made it very clear.
He respected her wish and hoped that the brunette would leave his mind and her lingering touch would vanish.
