Dove Necklace
"Whoa... What did I do to deserve you?" Hana asks in her dazed state.
Soo-ho smiles and takes off his necklace to put it around Hana's neck.
"Huh? But this was given to you by your sister. I can't take this!" She attempts to take it off, but he grabs her hands.
"I think I can only leave without worrying about you when I know you are wearing this."
"But you need it more! You're the one being chased! And we already have the promise rings!" She tries to reason with him, but he doesn't budge.
"Hana-ya. Please keep it." He gently strokes her cheek with his thumb. "And I wanted to tell you something... I couldn't leave without letting you know that I lo-"
"HANA! OPPA!" The two see Seol Hui running to them. "Gwang Tae saw you!"
"What?! Ooh, I'll deal with that butthead!" Hana then gently pushes Soo-ho towards the bicycle. "Get going."
He sits on the bicycle and looks at Hana once more. "Will you be okay?"
"I'll be fine... There's a chance that Gwang Tae won't be though." Hana says, making him give her a small smile. "Go now, okay?"
"Make sure to call Hana once you're safe, oppa! Now please hurry!"
He gives Hana a longing look before riding away. The girls watch him as he leaves, making sure he gets away safely.
"How did that happen?" Hana asks Seol Hui once Soo-ho is no longer in view. "Where's that butthead, I'll teach him a lesson!"
"Do that later, Hanny! We need to go; I'll explain on the way!" Seol Hui grabs Hana's hand and they begin running back to the dorm.
The ANSP agents are running their way and the girls slow their pace, so they won't look suspicious.
"Hey!" The one in charge and that Hana called a butthead before calls out to the girls. "Have you seen a guy on a bicycle here?"
"No, I haven't." Hana answers.
"A guy in a suit on a bicycle."
"I haven't." Seol Hui says.
"Are you sure?" He asks starting to annoy Hana.
"Don't you dare lie." One of the other cops says, standing beside his leader.
"Yah! How many times do we have to say no?!" Hana snaps, glaring at both cops. "We've been here for twenty minutes, having tteokbokki. We haven't seen a man on a bicycle, how many times must we say that?!"
"Hey... You're the one who called me a butthead before." The leader recognizes Hana and gives her an annoyed look.
"Yeah, and you're also a pervert!" Hana retorts, giving him an annoyed look back.
"You-"
They suddenly hear a bicycle bell and see a random man on a bicycle. The girls then take that as their cue to leave and head back to the dorm.
"Oh! We have to hurry! Teddy owes me a dance!"
Seong-sim, Aera and Mi Hye sit together in the living room of Aera's home, chatting and drinking tea.
"You must really care for your daughter, Aera." Seong-sim says with a fake smile.
"Of course. Your own child means more than anything in the world." She replies, before drinking her tea.
"I can agree... But I found out something very interesting. Would you both like to hear about it?"
"If you don't mind sharing!" Mi Hye replies with a smile.
"Okay... I got a call from my daughter yesterday and she told me about how she was defending your stepdaughter after you tried to slap her." Mi Hye gasps from the news as Aera suddenly spills her tea as she was placing the teacup back on its saucer.
"I-"
"YOU WENCH!" Seong-sim abruptly gets up from her seat and grabs Aera by her hair. "HOW DARE YOU LAY A HAND ON MY CHILD!"
"So, my little star. Is there something you would like to tell me?" Hee Tae questions Hana after having dragged her off the dance floor.
"No. Is there something you like to tell me? You interrupted my dance with Teddy." Hana says, also crossing her arms.
"Oh, really? Then why did I see you with your boyfriend earlier?" He asks and her eyes widened. "I know that you hate lying and you've never lied to me until now. So, explain yourself. Really didn't want me to meet him that badly?"
"I... Uh... I..."
"You told me he was out of town but that clearly wasn't the case. He was here and why did he leave so early?" He asks, giving her a suspicious look.
"Umm... It was a surprise visit! It was so sudden!" Hana explains and gives an awkward laugh. "He's going back to Germany soon, so I didn't have the time to introduce you! Sorry!"
"Are you two done?!" Hye Ryung shouts from the entrance of the dance party.
"Coming, Teddy!" Hana shouts back at her. "Beany, get back there and dance with Roro. Don't let my matchmaking have been for nothing!"
She runs away before he can question her any further.
"...My little star, why are you growing up so fast?" He looks down, pouting.
After the end of open house, the Room 207 girls go into the attic to get Hana's things that she let Soo-ho borrow during his stay there. Not wanting to ruin the others day, Hana decides to wait to tell the others of Soo-ho leaving for Germany the next day. She picks up her secret stash of butterscotch candy and opens the bag.
"I share my secret stash with you, and you didn't even eat half of it." Hana whispers with a sad smile, fiddling with the dove necklace.
"Do you guys think that oppa really cuddled with the Bambi plushie?" Seol Hui asks and the imagination of it makes her giggle. She then puts the plush toy in bag.
"Probably did. Him and Hana are always so attached to each other when they're in the same room." Jeongmin answers with a smirk.
"Hanny, did you ever tell Soo-ho about your secret admirer?" Young Ro asks, holding up Hana's snowdrop snow globe.
"Yep... I think he was secretly jealous."
"Or what if he's the secret admirer and just didn't tell you?" Hye Ryung says with a smirk while picking up Hana's favorite blanket and scarf. "And did you tell him about the other guy? The one you gave your umbrella too. How long has it been now?"
"Umm... About eight, maybe nine months now?"
"And you still didn't get that back yet? Why did you have to lend him your only umbrella?" Hye Ryung asks Hana in an annoyed tone and flicks her forehead.
"Ow! Don't flick me!" Hana pouts and rubs her forehead. "Because he was sitting in the rain and had an injury! How could I just leave him like that?"
Hye Ryung throws her head back and groans. "Why must you be such an angel?"
"I'll get it back once we cross paths again!" Hana says, feeling hopeful.
"How?! You don't even know what he looks like! You said he kept his head down the whole time! Just get a new umbrella already!"
"I don't want to!" Hana whines, shaking her head.
As the two continue with their bickering, the others watch with amused expressions on their faces.
"My, Hana. Your boyfriend was so handsome." One of the girls says as Hana comes into the bathhouse.
"He was so hot!" Another girl jumps in front of Hana, wiggling her fingers. "Did you guys see him shooting the pistol? He looked so cool."
"He's a graduate student majoring in economics, right?" Another girl asks.
"No wonder Hye Ryung is making sure that guy becomes your future husband!"
A few other girls come over and Hana laughs from all the compliments that they give her and Soo-ho. Eventually the girls start chasing each other around and Hana turns on the sink to fill up her basin. She starts to think about Soo-ho's goodbye and him giving her his necklace causes a sad expression on her face. Not realizing she kept the tap running and her basin is overfilled with water, someone turns it off, snapping her out of it. She looks next to her to see a glaring Bun Ok.
"We need to talk." Bun Ok says before walking over to the door that leads to the makeup room.
She waits for Hana to come in and is unaware of the girls that plan on listening and another one of the girls that head to Room 207. After Hana goes in, Bun Ok shuts the door.
"Six months, right? Do you have to rub your relationship in my face? Is it fun to mock me?"
"Bun-"
"You must have looked down on me so much that you invited him when I was working at the dorm and walked around with him having a good time in front of me! You told him that I wasn't a college student, that's why he didn't go for me!" Bun Ok yells.
"That's not true. Why would I tell him that?" Hana asks with a frown.
"Why wouldn't you? You being rich, it's so easy to get what you want!"
"...I know that you haven't had an easy life but please stop trying to be something that you're not. You think being born into a rich family is everything? It's not. Please don't take out your frustrations on me because things don't go your way."
"What did you just say to me?" Bun Ok asks, her voice shaking with anger.
Bun Ok is about to take a step towards Hana, but the door is suddenly slammed open, startling both girls. A fuming Hye Ryung steps inside, making her way towards Bun Ok.
"Hye Ryung." Hana steps in-between the girls, hoping to prevent a fight.
"It was all our first time meeting him so how could any of us tell him at that time that you weren't a college student? He didn't go for you because he wasn't interested in you. It was clear from the start that he had his eyes on Hana and her only. And to be fair, the guys wanted college girls. They called for Room 207, remember? You knew that when you begged to join. If a guy isn't interested, then take the hint." Hye Ryung snaps at the older girl.
"...Right." Bun Ok picks up a comb that belongs to one of the other girls and starts combing her hair. "She did nothing wrong. A girl like me, who isn't even a college girl, dared to join you guys and dream about a guy from Berlin who is way out of her league." She drops the comb and looks back at Hana. "I'll know my place from now on. Thanks."
Bun Ok takes her leave, glaring at both girls and bumping her shoulder into Hye Ryung's.
"Bun Ok!" Hana calls out for the girl who shoves her way through the audience at the door.
"Let her go." Hye Ryung grabs her arm, preventing her from going after the girl. "I told you not to become friends with her in the first place. Look at how she's acting now."
"But-"
"No buts! I hate it when people take advantage of your kindness and then they try to play the victim when something goes wrong! If she's going to continue to act ungrateful after all that you've done for her then she doesn't deserve you. And if she can't realize if she's in the wrong, that's her problem." Hye Ryung snaps. "Now hurry up and wash your face so we can go back to the room. Surprisingly that old wen- I meant your mom sent fried chicken. Did something good happen for her to do that?"
"...I guess Roro finally got her payback." Hana replies with a mischievous smile.
During the night while everyone is sleeping, Hana is the only one still awake. She sits at the desk, making a matchstick tower. And in his hideout, Soo-ho is doing the same.
WE ARE HERE!!! EPISODE FOUR!!!! I'm so excited for Soona's relationship starting this episode!
First Hye Ryung interrupted the confession and now Seol Hui! Or should we just blame Gwang Tae for this one?
Believe me I really wanted for Soo-ho to bring up those three words. I've been so conflicted on when they should say it, but I think I'll stick to my original plans. So, the confession is going to have to wait for a few more episodes!
Hana has yet to find her secret admirer of who brought her the snow globe and now we reveal someone that she gave her favorite umbrella to...
So, what did you think about Hana's mom going after Young Ro's horrible stepmom? I know that was sorta an episode six scene, but I really thought it would suit for this. Even though we have like a like/hate relationship with her in this story, Seong-sim is not going to tolerate anyone hurting her child. I wanted to include Tae-il, but I couldn't think of what to do so since he didn't have that many interactions with Aera in the show. So just know he had some words with Young Ro's dad about Aera.
I wasn't planning on doing the Bun Ok part but because of what happens to the Room 207 girls later in the episode, I had to put it in there. Just changed it up a bit, what did you think?
Matchstick tower couple!
