In Mumbai, at khanna mansion!

Neil tapping his foot on the ground was waiting for his  baby girl who was taking long time to get ready for their night out.

Neil : baby girl come down quickly.

He yelled glancing upstairs towards Nandini's room. Nandini ran the stairs.

Nandini: I'm coming Bhai..

She rushed to Neil and took deep breath.

Neil : baby girl look at the time. We are going to be late.

Nandini: sorry Bhai. I couldn't find my backpack.. sorry!

Neil : it's fine, we should leave now!

Nandini nodding her head walks outside of the mansion and follows Neil. Neil took his seat on driver seat while Nandini got inside on passenger seat.

Neil : baby girl make sure you have your seatbelt on. I don't want you to make same mistake.

Nandini puts her seatbelt on and took her phone and quickly messaged Manik. She then kept her phone back in her backpack and looks at Neil.

Nandini: let's go Bhai! 

Neil turning the radio  started the and zoomed out of khanna mansion.

Neil humming the song drives to their place while Nandini was staring at the road and fiddling with her fingers which Neil noticed when he was changing gear.

Neil : baby girl why do you look so worry? Relax yourself down!

Nandini gave little smile to Neil and tried relaxing her body posture..

An hour later they reached to their favourite outing place and Neil parking his car looks at Nandini.

Neil : you go inside.. I'm coming in while.

Nandini nodding her head and taking her backpack got out of the car. As Nandini left Neil took something out from car boot and walks inside the place.

Neil kept the thing on table and walks to Nandini who was sitting on sofa in living hall. He sat beside her and calls her name out.

Neil : Baby girl why are you sitting alone here? Why don't you go and make cold coffee for both of us.

Nandini: Bhai... I want chocolate too!

Neil : you start making your way to kitchen I'll grab chocolate from my room.

Nandini: thank you Bhai!

Nandini kissing Neil's cheek ran to kitchen while Neil chuckling at his baby girl action moves upstair to his room.. Neil reaching to his room moves to his closet and opens it.

Neil took the chocolates then walks downstairs to kitchen straight. He leans to kitchen door and saw Nandini making coffee. He clears his throat.

Neil : baby girl are you done making the coffee?

Nandini: almost Bhai! Why don't you go and sit near the pool. I'm coming there in 10 minutes.

Neil nodding his head moves to pool side and sat down! He rolls his trousers up till his knees then dips his legs into cold water.

Neil leaning backwards stares the sky. A minute later he felt Nandini sitting beside him. He looks his side and smiles seeing Nandini.

Nandini: Bhai here you go!

Nandini passed the cup of coffee to Neil and  took one for herself. Both siblings silently starts the sipping their coffee when Neil thought to start the conversation.

Neil : baby girl how is your study going?

Nandini: Bhai it's good!

Neil : how long you going stay in India?

Nandini: I don't know Bhai.. I took week holiday from university. Next week I have return booked ticket. I'm going to leave on Saturday night. By Sunday I'll reach London!

Neil : baby girl can I ask you something?

Nandini: Bhai I never stopped you... you can ask me anything?

Neil : i know this is year is your final year.. have you thought what you want to do? Will stay in London or shift back to India forever. What is your future plan baby girl? You know how is my job! Once your study is complete you have to take of our family. See baby girl my leaves can't be guaranteed for long period of time. You know my leaves. I want you to take the responsibility of our family.

Neil kept his cup down and turning to Nandini's side cups her face.

Neil : honestly tell me what you want? What you feel to take the responsibility?

Nandini: Bhai.. before that can I share something with you?

Neil nodded his head still cupping her face..

Nandini: Bhai Nandu promise first that  you won't scold me or get angry on me.

Neil could sense that the conversation was heading towards some serious talks between siblings. Neil blinks his eyes but Nandini forward her hand to Neil and looks at him.

Nandini: Nandu promise Bhai!

Neil kept his palm in Nandini's and said.

Neil : Nandu promise! Don't hesitate baby girl. Whatever your heart wants to speak out then don't keep it inside your heart. I'm your best friend before your brother.. I promise I won't get angry or scold you. I'll try to understand the situation then act on it.

Nandini smiles hearing Neil. She knew Neil won't take any wrong step before understanding her point view. That's why she loves Neil more than everyone in the family.

Nandini: Bhai... I'm in love..

She immediately closed her eyes in fear. It not that she is feared about Neil's angry but she is scared because she kept in dark all these years.. Nandini opens her eyes as she heard Neil soft and calm voice.

Nandini's eyes met Neil's who was controlling his anger. Nandini could tell how hard Neil was trying to control his anger not to burst out.

Nandini: Neil Bhai..

Neil cuts her off in Between.

Neil : since how long is this happening?

Nandini: two years!

She meekly whispered but it was enough audible to Neil who clenched his fist tightly.

Neil: why did you the fact you are love that too for two years.. why Nandini?

Nandini: Bh... Hai...

Nandini's eyes went teary and one drop of tears fell on Neil's hand making him alert. He cupping her face wiped her tears.

Neil : stop crying.. Nandini.. I hate seeing tears in your eyes.. stop crying..

Nandini sobbed lightly and shoved her tears back but she kept gazing at Neil.

Neil : as I have promised I'll not get angry and will try to understand your point view. How did this happen Nandini? We didn't sent you London to fall in love with someone? How can you be sure he loves you the way you love him? How can you be sure he will protect from all odds and everyone. How can you be sure he will leave you alone? How can I trust him with my sister life? Can you be sure for all these Nandini? You're too young to fall in love. I'm not against your love Nandini but how can assure my heart that you fell love with right person.. I'm scared for your future and you Nandini.

Nandini teary looks at Neil.

Nandini: Bh...ai..He is... not.. like.. that...

Neil : Nandini you're not understanding what I'm saying? I don't care how he is like?  It doesn't matter who he is Nandini.. I want to know will he keep you happy? Will he protect you? Will he leave you for someone? Will he ever betray you? Will he take stand for you against any wrong things will happen to you? Will he stick with you forever Nandini? Falling love is not crime Nandini.. love happens with anyone and anytime. I'm not saying you can't love nor he can't love you.. I want my sister to be safe in someone's hand who I can trust.

Nandini: Bhai.... you know.. he is like you..

Nandini sniffed while Neil side hugged her and caressed her hair.

Nandini: Bhai.. he is very protective and possessive about me.. he can't bear any scratch on me.. he really loves me Bhai.. no one can love me the way he does Bhai.. Bhai you know he will kill anyone who dares to go against me or anyone lays their dirty eyes on me.. Bhai I know i did mistake hiding about him... I'm sorry Bhai.. I was always scared how would I tell you.. how would you react.. I was scared of your anger.. Bhai I'm sorry.. he is not like the way you thinking Bhai.. he really loves me Bhai... Bhai you know he has one sister who is older than me.. she is really sweet Bhai.. I have spoke to her few times.. Bhai he loves his sister the way you love me.. Bhai he is not bad.. I agree he has anger issue like you but he is exactly like you Bhai.. he is very arrogant for outside but inside he is really soft for his loves one.. Bhai trust me he will never let you down regarding me.. Bhai you know I'm in India because of him.. he convinced to return back to India.. he made understand I should come  back to India and met you Bhai.. Bhai you won't believe it but I was not ready to come back India because I couldn't stay without him Bhai.. Bhai you know what he did.. he also came India leaving his business back there only because for my happiness.. Bhai.. he really loves.. I want you to support us.. Bhai please.... for my happiness please... I'm happy with him and I want to live my life with him only Bhai.. I can't fall in love with anyone rather than him Bhai... he is my life Bhai...

Nandini burst out crying hiding herself in Neil's chest while Neil looked lost in deep thoughts...

Neil took deep breath and looks at Nandini who was crying hugging him tightly.. her tears pricked his heart only.. he sighed and forceful broke the hug and cupping her face looks at her. He wipes her tears and kissed her forehead.

Neil : baby girl his name?

Nandini shockingly stares Neil.. she blinks her eyes few times to confirm did she heard Neil asking for his name.

Neil : his name baby girl?

Nandini composing herself and smiles brightly seeing her brother has accepted Manik..

Nandini: Manik malthora Bhai!

Neil : Manik malthora. Are you talking about business man Ashish malthora son Manik malthora?

Nandini nodded her head making Neil in shock.. he couldn't believe his sister fall in love with Ashish malthora son Manik malthora.

Neil : fix meeting with Mr malthora! I want to meet him before I say yes for you both..

Nandini: Bhai..

Neil : not word baby girl.. I want to handle this in my way.. I don't hurt you me feelings but doesn't mean I can trust Mr malthora regarding you Nandini. I can't.. I really can't when it comes to you... I'm clearing myself this discussion ends here only..

Nandini smiles vanished as Neil can't trust Manik..

Nandini: Bhai... please..

Neil : baby girl it's too late now.. go and sleep. I don't want any further discussion on this.. goodnight baby girl..

Neil kissing her head left taking their coffee leaving Nandini in tears.. Nandini immediately dialled Manik's number not being aware of what was happening other side..

In Delhi in Manik's room!

Manik was working on laptop till late night because he abruptly left everything in London and came to India for Nandini's happiness.

After dinner Manik thought to work in his room. He was sitting on bed with laptop on his lap. He wore his spectacles and was working when his phone rang.. he frowned thinking who would call him this time especially when he is India.. not many people has Manik's India sim number expect few people.

Manik chucking this thought stretched his arms to side table and picks his phone up only to get shocked and happy to see Nandini calling him but registering Nandini's call he got angry too thinking why is she still awake.

Manik picks the call.

Manik: hello baby! Why aren't you sleeping? You know naa waking up this late is not good for your health.

Nandini: m... ani...

Manik straightened himself as he heard her voice chocking.

Manik : baby what happened? Why are you crying? You making me worried! Why are you crying?

Nandini: mani... Bhai...

Manik : what happened to Neil? Is he okay?

Nandini: he is fine... but...

Manik : but what baby... listen to me...first of all stop crying and listen to me carefully..

Manik could hear Nandini taking deep breaths.

Manik : now tell why are you crying?

Nandini: mani... I told Bhai about us... he...

Manik wasn't shocked hearing this because Nandini has already discussed with him before they arrived India that Nandini would tell about them to Neil and their family.. he know what importance Neil holds in Nandini's life.

Manik : what did Neil say?

Nandini: he said he can't trust you mani... he is didn't accept our love mani... he...

Manik knew Nandini being emotional wouldn't understand Neil's point view.

Manik : Nandini did Neil say that he is against our love?

Nandini: no!

Manik : then how can you say he didn't accept us.. Nandini I know what are you going through... Nandini you need to understand Neil's point view too... listen to me carefully.. Neil is worried about you baby.. he can't trust anyone boy when it comes to you.. and you know that too.. if avni would tell me about her love then i wouldn't trust the guy too.. baby it's natural... brothers are worried for their sister life and who with they live their lives.. you don't need to worry about all this.. I love you and you love me.. before leaving to London I'll meet Neil and speak to him about us.. okay.. now please stop stressing yourself and go and sleep.. I'll call you tomorrow and speak to you..

Nandini: mani.. how can I not worry?

Manik : Nandini leave it on me.. I'll handle it.. I'll convince Neil for us.. do you trust me?

Nandini: I trust you a lot mani... you know mani I made Bhai angry too.. we came out for siblings time but I ruined it.. he is very angry with me... I shouldn't have told him about us.

Manik: Nandini Neil is not angry with you.. give him time.. he will understand. You should sleep now.. go and sleep.. we will talk about this tomorrow. Okay..

Nandini: hmm!

Manik : don't take tension.. I'll handle it.. baby good night.

Nandini: goodnight mani.. I love you..

Manik : I love you too baby!

Manik ending the call kept his phone side and sighed thinking about the situation on them. Manik closed his eyes and tried thinking what to do when he heard knock... he opens his eyes.

Manik ( mind) who could be this time?

Nevertheless Manik placing the laptop aside gets up and moves to door. He opens the door and saw avni there.

Manik : baby doll why did you awake up?

Avni : Bhai I couldn't sleep. I was going to kitchen when I was passing your room saw the lights on so came to check why are you still awake?

Manik : baby doll I was working!

Avni : Bhai you can't be serious.  You didn't leave your working late habit.

Manik : well that can never leave me.. come inside!

Avni comes in and settles herself on the bed and took pillow behind her back.

Manik picking his laptop closing the laptop  gets up and walk to couch area kept his laptop down on the table. He walks back to bed and set beside her.

Avni : may I know what's bothering you Bhai?

Manik looks at her..

Manik : Nandini!

Avni : Nandini? What happened? She is okay?

Manik: she is okay but she called me before you came... she said that she told her brother about us.. she is worried because her brother didn't trust me with Nandini or her life..

Avni : but Bhai how can he trust you? How can he go against you both? How is Nandini now? She would be very worried?

Manik : she is but I really can't do anything baby doll.. it'a between her brother and her. I told her that I'll handle it but I don't know how will I make him understand about us.. what if he doesn't like me? What if he says to leave  Nandini?  I can't imagine leaving Nandini baby doll. You know baby doll.. Nandini is not only my love but she also got close to you.. I know you both never met but she always that she got sister like you..I don't know what to do! I can't break my promise to Nandini nor I can go against her brother.

Avni : Bhai.. I'm sure you will  find solution to this problem too.. why don't you go and meet Nandini's brother.. yo can convince him about you both..

Manik: I don't know baby doll.. I don't know.. next week I'll leaving back to London..

Avni : what? Why? You can't leave Bhai.

Manik : I'm sorry baby doll but I don't have any choice.. My visit was not planned.. I'm in India because Nandini wants to see her brother and family.. I took this opportunity and came to you meet you all..

Avni: you didn't come for us.. this is not fair Bhai.. I can understand you came for Nandini but can't you extend your stay? Please Bhai!

Manik : baby doll please understand.. I can't..

Avni stomping her feet anger left the room leaving Manik in dilemma between his love and family.
