Naruto was hiding her face when she walked into the Uchiha's house, giving a distracted wave in their rough direction before she padded into a room that belonged to Itachi and snapped the door shut rather loudly. It was a sign to tell them that she doesn't want anyone to enter, not even Itachi. "She just needs some time to cope with herself." Itachi said, wriggling his hand slightly in the gesture that signified writing. Ah. Right, her journal.
"Where's Sasuke?"
"Going to be back soon with your future sister-in-law!" Konan exclaimed from the kitchen and Itachi could hear her bustling around the kitchen cooking. Itachi was trying to think about what the hell Konan was talking about until it hit him, Sasuke has a girlfriend now...
"Hinata's coming?" Naruto's voice reached them before the loud snap of the door as it hit the frames when being slid open with a little bit too much force.
"Yep!"
"We have to tell her then..."
"Everyone's gonna know by the end of this week anyways un." Deidara reasoned and Naruto put on a thoughtful expression as she thought through it. She paced slightly, tapping her journal in her hand absentmindedly. "They would try and hurt you guys but you guys can hold your side easy no problem. But the thing is if you hurt them their might be a possibility they try to petition for you to be executed. No. I'm not gonna allow that... Wait. Hold on a second. I am the Uzukage. What am I doing?" Naruto asked as she stopped abruptly, hitting herself with her journal for worrying about nothing. She tensed when she felt both Sasuke's and Hinata's chakra approaching. "Tadaima." Sasuke called out and Hinata was about to ask him why he still said it even though there was no one home until she realised that there was indeed people in his house.
"Oh! The Uzu nins." Hinata said timidly.
"Wassup?" Kisame drawled, raising an arm in greeting. They had drawn their hoods back over their heads, waiting for the right moment for the dramatic effect.
"H-hi."
"You should have told her before coming back teme." Naruto said teasingly, hoping Hinata got the subtle hint she just dropped. Sasuke snorted and rolled his eyes playfully, pulling Hinata towards the couch. "Tell her yourself dobe." Sasuke shot back.
"Sasuke-kun! Don't be rude to the uzukage! She-" Hinata cut herself off when she made the final connection, she gasped and turned to the uzukage. Naruto knocked her hood back, making Hinata gasp. "You- you... Who are you? You feeling just like him b-but you look..."
"I am Naruto. I just no longer look like a boy nor do I require to be like a boy. I have always been a girl mind you Hinata." Naruto said, wagging her fingers at the pale eyed girl. "As you know Akatsuki has been disbanded and many have been taken off the missing nin list, they have joined me in creating Uzushiogakure." Naruto said, finishing with a flourish of hand and they all removed their hoods to reveal their faces. Naruto was afraid that Hinata was gonna say something about her freaky appearance but she just rushed to Naruto and embraced her, not missing her flinch.
"I am so proud of you!" Hinata squealed, really unlike her dear old quiet self. Everyone stared wide eyed at her as she continued talking about how proud she was. She rambled on and on about how stupid the others were in the way they treated her then apologised profusely then went back to rambling about how proud she was.
"Thank you Hinata. I need... To breathe." Naruto said, patting her awkwardly. Hinata released her and dragged her to the table when Konan announced that dinner was ready to be consumed.
"I am getting married Hinata." Naruto said when Hinata had asked her if she has a boyfriend. Hinata almost dropped her chopsticks in surprise. Naruto showed her the ring and she narrowed her eyes at it. "Who is he? Is he treating you well? Do you guys know each other for a long time? Are you guys bestfriends? Do I know him?" Hinata shot all the questions out.
"He is your soon to be brother-in-law, sis. He treats me wonderfully, we have known each other for almost one and a half decades - longer than I have known Sasuke -, we definitely are bestfriends. You might know him as Uchiha Itachi, the master of sharingan and S-ranked rogue ninja in a terrorist organisation called the Akastuki." Naruto finished dramatically, it would have been funnier if there was some fireworks in the background and banners dropping from the ceiling, confetti and glitter scattered all over with streamers flying through the air.
They were met with silence as Hinata fainted. Sasuke caught her before she could face plant in her food. The room was filled with laughter as they saw Hinata's face. "Oops... That was probably too much to take in."
