Petra's POV

   After school Jess asked me if I wanted to go to her house. So I said "sure."  Because how could I say no to Jess??? So we went to her house, did our homework, and put our homework up.
   Then she asked "So how are you and your mom doing?" That question made me cringe. My dad died when I was five.

FLASHBACK
   It was Christmas day, I was about to open my presents but my dad had to go get the camera out of the car so I had to wait. My mom and I heard a gun shot. We went out side to see what happened. A guy shot my dad when me and my mom came out side the guy shot my leg I fell to the ground and the guy ran.

END OF FLASHBACK

" My mom abuses me every time I see her or talk to her.She hits me with anything that can hurt me. Because she thinks that it is my fault that my dad died." I started to cry I couldn't hold it in anymore I cried so hard. Jess pulled me into a hug. She said "Petra please don't cry." I just cried harder. My body started to shake. I couldn't hold it in no longer. She took her hand and lifted my chin and said "Please, Petra stop crying." I just couldn't.
