Chapter 2. The Company

The Next Day

Tay had gotten famous in New's office as the Mr. Childish CEO but somehow, he didn't mind being called that because he knew it was true. He could be pretty childish, especially when it came to his grandma.

Tay had a past. A past that still hurt him to that day and he preferred to keep it hidden from everyone except his grandma. His mom died when he was 4. He didn't even remember her face properly anymore. And all his dad cared for was the company when he was young so the person who took the most care of him was his grandma, his mom's mother.

Tay always wondered how nice and kind his mother actually was whenever he saw his grandma take care of him. He wished that he could have his mother by his side but as he grew older, the only mother figure in his life, his grandma also started to get worn out.

Tay didn't really talk to his dad because his dad was barely home. His dad was Finnish so now that Tay had grown up, he went back to Finland, where his family was, leaving Tay alone with the company and his grandma. Yes, Tay was half Thai, half Finnish (not actually). Tay's dad did come visit them once in a while but he claimed that he just wanted to take care of his parents, something that he never had the chance to do before. It didn't really make sense to Tay though. He left his child to take care of his parents? So was Tay never important to him? Tay had always wondered that and at the end of the day, he always knew the answer.

* * * * *

It's Tuesday morning, around 10 a.m. A wide, luxurious car braked in front of Tay's office. Two guards ran to open the doors. Came out Tay and his brand new fashion designer, New. Tay led New in, beginning to show him around the office and walking along.

And as clumsy as Tay was, he missed a step and was almost about to fall when New held his hand.

Immediate butterflies started roaming around Tay's stomach. The butterflies and the long stare they shared made him flinch, leading him to release the hand New held for him and fall anyways. New giggled at his foolishness a little and then helped him up.

"Very clumsy, aren't you?" New laughed as he dragged Tay up.

Tay pouted his lips. "Don't laugh!" He frowned.

They kept walking and got into the elevator. It was a seven floor office and New's room was on the fifth floor.

The elevator closed and a string of awkward silence flowed between them.

Feeling the awkwardness, Tay was the first to speak up as he was the more talkative one between them.

"So... why do you like fashion designing?" Tay asked, looking at New for an answer. Curiosity clear in his eyes as he wanted to know more about the maturer man.

New smiled a bit and replied, "It allows me to create my own imaginary world with no boundaries."

Tay chuckled. To him, it seemed like an answer out of a movie or something. "Such a childish answer. Who's the one being childish now? What are you? A protagonist of a movie?"

New shook his head and sighed. "It's okay. Someone like you won't get it!" He replied. Tay fake smiled and rolled his eyes at New.

Before the conversation could shift, the elevator door opened. Tay led New to his working room, showing him around it. "So... this is where you can sit and do your work," He said as he pointed to a moving chair and a medium sized, light wood coloured desk in the middle of the room.

"Where's your room?" New asked, looking around his own workplace.

"Why do you ask?" Tay asked back, attempting to tease the other man.

"Well, I need to submit my work to you first before releasing it, don't I?" New twitched his mouth.

"I was joking. Easy! My room is the first on the fourth floor," Tay answered, landing a hand on New's shoulder.

"Sorry, I don't joke with my clients. I like to keep it professional," New replied, coldly and slightly smiled because even he knew he didn't mean that as he brushed off Tay's hand from his shoulder. New always liked to tease so he never held back.

"The walls are high, I see," Tay whispered on his own and walked out of the room without any more utterance, not realising that New heard him.

New's lips formed a subtle smirked and he got on for work on his tablet.

In a few hours, New finished his design. He did exactly as he was told by Tay of what type of design the company wanted. He immediately decided to take the design to Tay, knocking on the door.

"Come in," Tay answered from inside in a very serious tone. New couldn't help thinking about the voice he said it in. It was like a whole different person.

New entered and stared at Tay's serious face until Tay smiled, looking at him. "Hey, New! What happened? Is the design finished already?" He suddenly started acting a bit too friendly.

New gave him a weird look and emoted as if he was about to puke. "So, yes. The design is almost finished. I've made the structure. I just need to add some colours. What do you think?" New asked as he handed Tay the design.

"What is this? This isn't what I told you to do! Why does it look so pale and lifeless..." Tay's complaining continued but New didn't pay attention to it. He looked around the office room, yawning. He knew that Tay was just messing with him.

"Do it again!" Tay's complaining finished with a harsh sentence.

"It's a design. If it had life, it would have been a human, not a dress." New murmured to himself, too silently for the other to hear. He didn't want to cause any problem. Then, he snatched the tablet back and left the room biting his lips, his blood boiling inside his head. His hands were fidgeting, wanting to punch the man so bad but he knew he couldn't do that. It's his client.

"At first, he begged me to accept his offer and now he has the audacity to reject my designs! I swear, if this wasn't my client, I'd have started to throw hands." New whispered to himself and forced himself back to his room, fighting the urge to let out his anger.

To Be Continued.....

A/n: Back with a fun chapter. Do you think Tay in real life would do something like rejecting New's design just to mess with him?
