California sounds like the dream. Too bad my parents think it's the land of sinners. I'm pretty sure they'd ban me from the family if I ever left Georgia. As frustrating as they are, I don't know what I'd do without them. It's a hard situation.

About your degree in writing; that sounds super cool too! Another idea could be becoming an ELA teacher, but a proud gay one. That way you get to hear a million different stories while also positively influencing the young. You could be the person I needed for the longest time: you'd have the power to let a little scrawny kid see it's okay to be who they are.
