*Kanekis POV*

I inhaled slowly as I prepared to say the words that would hurt the person I loved the most on the world. Hide... I'm so sorry...

"Hide we can't be friends anymore! I hate you so much! Never come near me ever again!" I spat then hug up on his face. I stared at my phone as I turned it off And let it hit the ground as I sat in the ward I had moved to stay away from him.

"Hide I'm so sorry," I brought my hands up and cried. All i did was hurt him non stop so maybe doing this won't hurt as bad as the flesh wounds he had gotten because of my stupid mistake. He'd be fine without me, he was always popular with everybody so he could easily replace me and make a new best friend who wasn't ghoul and who wouldn't probably kill him. I was slowly learning to control this new ability... Or should i say new curse? I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and stared at the mask Uta had given me, it covered my non ghoul eye and was black with a zip up mouth. I picked it up slowly and stared at it before buckling it up. I looked outside the window as it was pitch black, my kagune activated and I leaped out as I made my way back to the eleventh ward where he was...

I sat on the roof of a building as I stared down at the very little passerby's. I could see the glint of a kagune in one alley, a ghoul patiently waiting to pounce and kill a victim of his or her choice. to rip them to shreds and eat them alive. I swallowed hard as my stomach rumbled and I made my way down slowly to stand in an alley. I ducked in the shadows as someone walked down and I could barely see them. I squinted my eye to make out black hair and a graceful stride as the woman walked down. I slowly walked off And made my way back up to the roof I had been on not long ago. I couldn't kill anybody for food... I stared at Anteiku and sighed as I unzipped the mouth of the mask, the sweet aroma of blood filled up my nostrils and I made my way to it. Leftovers? Fine by me. I kneeled down by the bloodied arm and bit into it hungrily. I felt the flesh rip off and I swallowed as my hunger decreased. I stood up slowly and licked my lips, the body was of a female, someone I didn't know but she was half eaten and defiantly already dead so I didnt do any killing. I heard a scream and then a crash and I ran towards it. A young woman and a ghoul... My eye widened when I saw somebody push the ghoul, that dirty blonde hair and brown eyes.

"Hide!" I yelled out in panic when the kagune punctured his skin and his blood splattered.
