*Kanekis POV*

I had a date with Rize tonight which made me happy, I know I dont know much about her but thats what a date is for... Right...? Hide was sitting on the couch of my apartment and watching television as I was getting ready.

"Hide scram," I huffed and he groaned and rolled off the couch. When did he start laying down?!

"Out," I smiled and nudged him very gently with my foot

"Yeah, yeah. Enjoy your date dude," he purred as we walked out together. It was starting to become late early due to it being winter. I shivered against the harsh cold and he did the same as we took our separate paths after saying our goodbyes to each other. I felt my heart pound against my chest and I swear someone could hear it if they walked past me. I was overly nervous since it was my first date. Why was I even going out... I was developing feelings for my best friend Hide so why go out with a girl... Was it so I didnt face rejection or was I denying my feelings since we have been together since we were little and he is my best friend after all... We're also school buddies and hang out almost every minute of the day. I pushed the denial and questions to the back of my mind so I could focus on the moment st hand, my date with the waitress at Anteiku, Rize. I smiled when I saw her in a dress waiting outside the door of the coffee shop and I ran up to her instead of just walked.

"Well let's get going," I purred and was surprised my voice didnt waver, crack, or do anything to reveal my nervousness and doubt about myself.

"Sure," she smiled as she seemed awfully calm. Of course she was calm! She probably didnt doubt liking anybody or was nervous of going on a date since she's probably had a lot of dates in her Lifetime! I shivered again against the cold, even in My jacket I was freezing I didn't understand how she was cold in her dress... Once again... Maybe used to it...? I sighed as I walked by her and hesitantly grabbed her hand. I planned out that we were go out to a movie then dinner then I'd walk her home since itd probably be dark. I forgot about the night time where the ghouls came out... Shit... What If the two of us encountered one on our way back?! I tried pushing the worry to the back of my mind and once again focus on the present time but it kept coming back to haunt my thoughts. I sighed.

Rize... My eyes widened in horror as Hera were red and her... Her... Kagune! That's what it was called! It was released and she laughed. I backed up slowly and spun on my heel to run... I should've gotten to know her better before going out on a Date! I felt the it pierce my skin and I gasped out
