Sakura Kiss

Sooyeong strolled down the street in pure bliss. She was completely stunned and could not believe that Taehyung asked her out. It seemed as though her one-sided crush was not crumbling to bits and pieces rather it was conjoining to become reality. She felt her tummy flutter as she recalled the moments from earlier.

After Taehyung asked her to watch the Cherry blossoms with him, she completely froze and her heart had skipped a couple of beats. She wanted to blurt out an ecstatic yes but alas her brain completely failed to send impulses throughout her body. So to him she probably looked as if she was trying to come up with a subtle way to reject his request.

Her body had only kicked into motion when the school bell went off shortly after but when she was about to speak up, a sea of students flooded the hallways and ultimately they were smashed together. Luckily though, on Sooyeong's part, the bag strapped over his chest eased her emotions and blush.

She clearly remembered how she thanked him for all of the sticky notes and how she happily said yes to him. The hug she had given him then was probably the tightest one she had ever given to him before. Overall, she was also thankful that she didn't have to ask him out because she would have probably ruined his grand reveal.

It made her wonder just how long he was planning all of that. She suddenly gasped when she recollected a line which he had used that was eerily similar to a line from the Season's of Life poem regarding a new journey. Then she thought back to when he was crazily circling that particular line.

'He was planning this for a long ti-' her thoughts were interjected when she tripped over the first step which lead up to Café Shooky.

She quickly balanced herself before she could fall and pushed through the doors, as if nothing happened. She greeted her co-workers, chucked her backpack and blazer aside and put on her apron. As she worked, taking orders, wiping tables, mopping up the floors etc. she couldn't help but recollect all of the sweet, crazy, hormonal and funny memories she had shared with Taehyung thus far.

All of those were stepping stones for him to ensure that she felt the same way as he did or at least she thought it was and when she broke friendship with him that must have really hit him hard since he really cared for her, possibly on a level above just friends. She felt completely terrible but at the time it couldn't be helped.

"Yah, kid." Yoongi called and flung a sugar sachet at her head which caught her attention. "What's gotten into you? Why are you so quiet? Normally you'd be telling Hoseok how your day was."

She smiled, subtly and went over to Yoongi, "Surprising things happened today."

"Oh?" he spun on his chair. "Like what?"

"Hoseok Oppa," she hollered. "Do you have a second?"

He smiled with a nod and slid his way next to the two, "What is it?"

"I'm not coming into work tomorrow," she smiled at Yoongi. "Someone asked me to the Spring Festival."

"Someone?" Hoseok didn't sound pleased. "I don't think Taehyung is just someone."

Her breath hitched, "How did you know it was him?"

"Sooyeong," Yoongi drawled. "That stunt he pulled on Saturday kind of sealed the deal."

Her cheeks went bright red at the thought of the indirect kiss.

"Yoongi hyung literally said it would happen." Hoseok smiled.

"Yah! She doesn't need to know that!" Yoongi hollered.

Hoseok laughed and embraced Sooyeong in a hug, "Make sure he treats you they way you should be, which is nothing short of a princess."

A content smile took over her features and she nodded.

"I'm happy for you kid," Yoongi ruffled her hair but he noticed Hoseok's mood shift slightly. "Run along now."

Sooyeong went back to serving the customers and Hoseok was about to do the same but Yoongi stopped him.

"Yah, you're alright buddy?"

Hoseok gave him a smile that showed his little dimples but Yoongi was having none of it.

"Stop faking a smile Hoseok, I can see through it." He voiced, sternly and Hoseok's expression changed. "If you're thinking about that girl again, don't. She didn't deserve you and you deserve much better."

"Did I not treat her good enough? Did I not make her happy enough for her to get up and leave me for another man?" Hoseok held back tears.

Yoongi handed him a tissue, "You did fine Hoseok. People change and don't realise what good they're letting go off. You'll be someone's special someday."

Hoseok cracked a small smile, "Just like Taehyung and Sooyeong are for each other. I just hope neither of them go through what I did."

"I have a feeling that they'll be just fine Hoseok." Yoongi smiled and looked over at Sooyeong interacting with TXT. "She's been through a world of hurt and she's not cruel enough to put someone through something like that."

"What about Taehyung?" Hoseok discarded his tissues.

"If he does anything, I'll make sure to fold him up into a pizza and eat him."

Hoseok laughed, "Jungkook might just specially cut him up with the scissors just for you."

While Sooyeong was on duty, Jimin and Jungkook pitched up after having spent some time at the basketball court in the school's gymnasium with Taehyung.

Obviously news had broken out to them during their session so they wanted to tease Sooyeong a little and share their friends' excitement.

"So... someone's knight in shining armour finally asked her out?" Jungkook made a derp face.

"Aish," she flushed, embarrassed, and placed their drinks on the table. "He's not. He's just the plain and precious Taehyung we always knew."

"Who would've thought he was such a hopeless romantic," Jimin laughed. "He really didn't force his feelings on you. Instead, he got to know you better and not many guys would do that."

"Yeah," Sooyeong smiled. "But when are you two getting girlfriends?"

Both boy's choked on their spit.

"My marriage age is set at 100." Jungkook saluted, cutely.

Sooyeong raised an eyebrow, "I don't think IU would wait that long."

He showed her his tongue, "And I think Tae hyung needs to know about Jackson Wang from China."

She smirked, "He already knows so find something else to blackmail me with."

He sat with a frustrated pout and Jimin gave an airy chuckle.

"And you?" she looked to Jimin.

"Probably university," he smiled. "I'm not really interested in anyone right now."

"You two are such a waste," she sent them an unpleased look. "A lot of girls are probably dying to be with either of you."

"I find that unbelievable Soo," Jimin sipped his drink. "Have you seen me receive any confessions or notes before? No, because most of them goes to Han Seojun but it's probably better that way. Less stressful for me, you know."

"Aish, as long as you two are happy then I'm happy." Her voice was soft. "And I have to get back to work, I'll see you guys around."

After work Sooyeong made her way home and the first thing she did was collapse onto her bed, allowing the days events to flood her mind like a burst dam. For once, the universe was looking out for her and she couldn't be anymore thankful.

"Who would have thought your crush could actually like you back?" she rolled onto her side. "Well... he didn't actually say he did... he just asked me out... it could mean anything..."

She stared at her pillow for the longest time, deep in her thoughts.

"Oh my gosh!"

She shot up in a single manoeuvre.

"What if he kisses me tomorrow?"

She panicked.

"What will I do?"

She felt her breaths get heavier.

"Because I've never kissed anyone before,"

She fell back onto her bed and stared at the ceiling, trying to control her breathing.

"I'm sure it can't be that hard... it's just your lips against someone else's..."

She flushed when she pictured Taehyung's lips pressed up against her own but what was frightening was how vividly she could do so solely because of his indirect hand-kiss.

"AH!" she yelped and covered her face with her pillow. "Maybe I should just search Naver?" she mumbled and peeked over to her laptop.

She shivered, "My FBI agent would probably be monitoring my search history..."

She cried animated tears.

"Maybe I should just go with the flow and stop overthinking like I did for the Chem practical... it probably won't even happen anyway." She sighed and cuddled her pillow.

She laid there, lost in her thoughts once more. She thought about how handsome Taehyung was but despite that he still had such a kind personality and that was something she would never get over.

He literally wore his heart on his sleeve and it really showed whenever she was with him. The amount of things he sacrificed and the pain he went through for her told her leaps and bounds about him but it also told her leaps and bounds about her feelings toward him.

She realised that she was not only in love with him but rather sincerely, truly and deeply in love with him, and even though it may come across as immature to everyone else, they didn't know the kind of up hill battle she'd been through with him. Even the old man at the seven eleven convenience store proved to her that high school love was possible- that it could start at a young age.

"Wait!" She gasped and grabbed her backpack suddenly, "... That one sticky note..."

She pulled out her journal and flung open a certain page.

"I want to make you mine..."

Her fingers ran over the pressed ink.

"Could this mean that..."

Her breath caught in her throat.

"H-He really might kiss me? And tell me how he really feels?"

She let out a shaky , airy breath and stared at the notes but her head tilted slightly when she noticed something odd about them.

"All of his notes are pink... why'd he choose pink specifically when he literally has a variety pack?"

She stretched out for her laptop and quickly searched up the symbolism of the colour pink.

She scrolled through the results and saw a ton of different meanings.

"Love... romance... compassion... hope... first flush of love..."

She leaned back, slightly overwhelmed.

"I wonder if Dansae had these in mind too when he decided to give me that stupid note..." She joked. "And I can't help but wonder if he'd planned around the concept of Spring and its pink theme or was it all just one big coincidence like in the fairy tales."

Whatever it may be, she believed nor in fairy tales, but rather in the plan of the stars and the heavens and maybe from there on out things were going to properly realign itself for her.

Maybe things were going to get better.

Maybe she was finally going to be happier like Taehyung said she would be.
