Crash Landing On You

The school day for Sooyeong seemed to be going relatively well as compared to her morning at home so in her heart she promised herself that she would make the best of her school life since her home life had gone to shit.

Every snack that Taehyung happily gave her, during the morning periods, she gracefully accepted and enjoyed it too but what ate at her was Taehyung in Biology class. She couldn't believe his raging hormones but she regarded it as playful banter since Taehyung has always had a playful personality.

Albeit, she would rather go through that banter a thousand times over than seeing Suhjin or Ahro even for just a split second. She shivered at the thought of them; they were like grey clouds amidst the sunny day and to deal with them on a daily basis surely proved to be insanity.

"Thinking about oxyhemoglobin again?" Jungkook broke her out of her rustling thoughts. "You shouldn't have passed up the offer because unlike Jimin, Tae hyung probably has a bigger chi-"

"S-Shut up Jungoo. I can't believe all of you and your hormones, honestly." She flusteredly shot from her side of the lunch table. "What's wrong with you all today?"

"Why are you bringing me into this?" Jimin suddenly nudged Jungkook. "And I can't believe you actually went and made oxygen binding with red blood cells sexual."

"Aigoo." She rubbed her temples. "It just happened and you made me do it besides I meant it as soulmate binding not what you lot are thinking. Namjesus."

"You liked it though, you can't deny that." Jimin wiggled his eyebrows. "At least you got to see some lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely collarbones."

She sighed, "I don't even know why I share any information with you two. You guys are always over the top."

The two boys only chuckled, "Because you sarang us."

She smiled.

How very true that was even though they hacked half her brain off most of the time.

As she ate, her eyes trailed over to Dansae's table and she noticed how Taehyung laughed as he ate while Nayeon sat next to him and that immediately made Sooyeong frown because she remembered Ahro's words from last night.

Nayeon laughed along with him and she even exchanged a mouthful of words with him but Sooyeong couldn't help but wonder if that was how they both looked whenever they were together. She smiled at the sudden thought yet she still remained baffled at how much she liked him.

Her eyes then caught sight of Dansae and Ahro who chatted away as well. They seemed to be in their own little world watching something on what she presumed to be Dansae's smartphone since he held it out, and somehow they looked happy.

Maybe she had misjudged them. Maybe she had too much faith in her reduction skills since she judged someone who was clearly in a relationship when she had never even been in one, obviously leaving her with zero experience.

Perhaps it was best that she left the reduction-making to the high functioning sociopath— Sherlock Holmes and not rack her brain.

She sighed unnoticeably but suddenly both her and Ahro made eye contact with each other. Ahro's gaze was sharp and she kept a stern face before she tapped Dansae on his shoulder, thereafter she nodded in Sooyeong's direction. The said girls eyebrows knitted in confusion when they both briefly stared at her then abruptly got up to leave the cafeteria.

Their actions boggled her mind but she dispersed of the thoughts and went back to having her lunch.

The rest of the day dragged on but with Taehyung as her seatmate there were obviously spontaneous moments of crack.

Like, at one point Taehyung tried on Jungkook's specs which he then used for the duration of the period but when the bell wailed he stretched out his arms in front of him, in the process he took the specs with him, making it sit between his biceps as if that was a natural thing to do.

She had only stared at him like he grew a second head. His behaviour was so extra - even for simplest of things - but for her it was not a bad thing because she really needed those moments of bliss which could possibly, eventually lead to her finding her yellow paint again.

But the more she thought about the yellow paint comparison the more her mind dragged Taehyung's name across her brain. It was like the only brain cells that were functional were cells that screamed his name.

It was weird, especially because it felt like he was filling up a void within her that her past pain had left her with, and it started ever since the first day she had met him but it became much more distinct when she and him were at the Cemetery.

She shook her thoughts away, and looked down at the files in front of her which Taehyung had given to her earlier. A smile crossed her lips as she opened up the first one. She couldn't believe how he had been looking out for her and it softened her heart to the point where it turned to complete mush.

Sooyeong had decided to stay back to read up on the notes so she could catch up on whatever she had missed out on but deeper to that fact, she really didn't want to go home after what Suhjin had said because she didn't know what sort of fate she would meet if she did.

She groaned at the thought and drummed her fingers over the desk, "I guess I could probably just go home really late and go through the lawn instead..."

She nodded her head slightly and agreed with her conscience.

Thereafter, she proceeded to read the notes and slowly yet surely she was getting through each one of them one by one. She scribbled down notes at regular intervals and highlighted some of the important points. But all the while the classroom which was occupied with half the usual students slowly got devoid at irregular intervals.

As the hours ticked by and in between her note making she snacked on some Korean treats, which Taehyung had gladly given to her until eventually she was down to the last few pages of notes.

After an intense catching up session, she decided to take a short breather so she finally looked up and tiredly stretched her body. She allowed a little yawn to escape her lips but in the process she noticed that everyone had already left, and that she was alone.

"Oh?" She looked around, and wiped away a single tear that had formed after she yawned. "I should probably get going soon too..." She looked down at her watch and it was just after four o'clock.

She quickly finished up her notes then got up to pack up her things but just as she strapped on her backpack over her shoulder and pushed her chair in she heard the classroom door suddenly shut.

At the sudden sound she looked up and her eyes met with the two people she really didn't want to see: Ahro and Nayeon. Nevertheless, Sooyeong stood upright and watched as they both approached her. Their faces were plastered with an unreadable expression.

She only braced herself for what could come next because this might be Ahro's attempt to finish off whatever she had started in the morning.

The heavy, awkward silence of the room was soon cut short when Nayeon spoke up, her voice was laced with a noticeable brewing anger.

"So," She stepped closer to Sooyeong with a hand on her hip. "Despite Ahro ya telling you about Tae Oppa and I, you still want to slut on him."

Sooyeong's eyes became round at her words and her lips parted, "W-What?"

"Don't play dumb Sooyeong. I've seen the video of the two of you and the way you tried seducing him in class!" She exclaimed then harshly poked Sooyeong just below her jugular notch which instantly left linear, slightly reddened scrapes due to her long painted nails.

"V-Video? S-Seduce?" Sooyeong stuttered and stepped back but she was caught between the desk and Nayeon. She wondered if one of the boy's may have leaked the video Jimin had recorded but what part exactly in the video was seductive. "What video are you talking about?"

Sooyeong's body filled with fear and that was when Ahro stepped forward with her phone in hand.

Sooyeong watched the screen but instantly her face drained of all of its colour and her backpack let loose from her shoulder, falling to the ground.

The video was not the one Jimin had filmed. This one was different. It was from today's Biology class and it clearly showed her flicking her hair then leaning down toward Taehyung with a finger tracing his jaw line.

She looked up at them appalled but before she could justify her deeds as simply being playful banter or even say it was only half the video, a disgruntled Nayeon gripped onto her shirt, taking her tie with her and she pulled Sooyeong closer until they were just centimetres apart.

"Don't try and steal another girls man, Sooyeong. He'll be mine soon. Besides a girl like you doesn't even stand a chance with him anyway. I mean look at your hair with those bangs? How old fashioned is that?"

Sooyeong could only stare at Nayeon's piercing green eyes. She felt that if she moved even an inch, she would regret it for sure, because Ahro proved to her how violent she could get so whose to say Nayeon wouldn't pull out a scissor or a pen and probably stab her with it.

Nayeon roughly released her and a button from her shirt let loose and it fell to the ground just as her heart plummeted. She also felt her body go numb from the contact that the back of her thighs made with the desk and the pain on her chest area stung, similarly to this morning.

Her life really had gone to shit. Even Jungkook's specs were living a more fabulously wonderful life than her - getting to touch Taehyung's biceps and whatnot.

"You better watch yourself brat or a button is not the only thing you'll lose." Nayeon cursed and Ahro smirked beside her in satisfaction. "And just some advice, you should go play around with that Jungkook guy instead since you've already put your pitiful B cups on him."

At once, they both turned on their heels and walked towards the door but Sooyeong on the other hand just stood there, baffled and seized with tears having stained her cheeks. She couldn't believe how innocent high school memories could be turned into utter destructive weapons and misery.

"Don't expect everyone in school to feel sorry for you Sooyeong. The world doesn't work like that." Nayeon apathetically gave her last word - which was exactly like the note from her locker she received previously, before the two slithered out into the hallway like the snakes they are.

Immediately, Sooyeong's body sunk to the floor and she just sat there, drowning in guilt and doubt. It was if all life had just been sucked out of her but just when things couldn't get any worse she heard the latch behind the door lock, shut.

She was trapped.

Both in the classroom and in her own body.

The countless thoughts began to maul through her mind and she felt her very existence as painful and impossible to bare. She felt suffocated, broken, hurt and burdensome.

And that video - she was positive it was Dansae's doing. The angle in which it was filmed was clearly from his direction in Biology class. Plus, Dansae urged Taehyung to sit at her table and then there was that incident at lunch when both him and Ahro got up to leave after Sooyeong had caught eye with the younger.

It all made sense to her now. It was their plan. A plot of revenge perhaps because of that argument Sooyeong and Ahro previously had.

Perhaps Sooyeong wasn't wrong about their relationship after all. They were happy together but not for the right reasons.

At least half an hour went by where she sat still, contemplating her life and what to do next because everybody had already left so she was completely alone.

She thought maybe she could give Jungkook or Jimin a call to come help her out but then thought otherwise. They did not need to know about this, it would only make things so much worse for her at home and school.

And obviously, Taehyung was long crossed off the list for obvious reasons. Eunwoo as well since he was just an innocent boy who didn't need trouble following him around because of her unintentional actions that grieved such a consequence.

She sniffled softly and wiped away her tears with the back of her hand but just then her smartphone, that sat on the ground, suddenly buzzed beside her.

She ignored it only for it to buzz again.

With a dying-like motion she double tapped her screen only to reveal a message from Seokjin.

전세계 잘 생긴 (Worldwide Handsome):
Make sure you come home today!

전세계 잘 생긴 (Worldwide Handsome):
Don't listen to that idiotic women!

She let out a breath of air and lethargically replied to the message from her lock screen itself.

당신 (You):
Don't wait for me. I'll be fine. ✨

She hit send and let her phone drop to the floor but her eyes suddenly latched onto the screen once Seokjin's chat had disappeared from the notification bar and she only stared down at the wallpaper.

It was that screenshot where Taehyung was looking at her in Math class.

She smiled softly, and remembered how she gave into his peer pressure after he sent her the biggest pout and furrowed eyebrows he had probably ever mustered.

He really was a big baby that needed protection from all the evil of this world and especially from girls like Nayeon.

Sooyeong concluded with her conscience that every person deserved a chance at love but to force it on to someone is not the moral way to go about it.

She sighed heavily, then chucked her smartphone into her backpack before she agonisingly got up and made for the window.

By now, the sky had slowly darkened. It was mixed with the hues of orange and blue, and she was pretty sure that the hallways would be dark as well with the main doors already closed for the day.

She stood at the window and allowed the icy cold breeze to hit against her skin. It was refreshing in a sense but it didn't really do anything to change her mood all that much - she still felt beaten.

As she looked out the window she wondered if jumping through it was her only way out of there but when she looked downward, her heart dropped in an instant.

It was at least two stories high and if she did jump, and depending on how she landed she would probably sustain minimal to critical injuries or even die but then again she wondered who would even care.

Nevertheless, without hesitation, she flung her backpack out the window and watched it descent through the air with the help of gravity. She knew if she aimed for her backpack once it hit the ground she would probably get fewer injuries than compared to not landing on it.

Finally, her backpack crashed below onto the concrete below and a small cloud of dust scattered from beneath it.

She winced as the thought of herself being splattered on the concrete below instead of her backpack, and the dust being replaced with her blood.

She shivered at the heinous thought of blood. It was the very reason why she hated the colour red so much.

"Okay, let's just get thi-"

A sudden sound, which sounded exactly like a bark had caught her off guard and she quickly looked outside only to find a black and tan-ish dog run passed her backpack as if something had suddenly spooked it.

Sooyeong felt so bad for it because it probably was her backpack that made it run off like a headless chicken but in the midst of her deductive thoughts she suddenly shot upright seeing as something had dawned on her.

If there was a dog out there then there probably would be someone out there with it.

She poked her head out the window, and looked around frantically.

"Is anyone out here? Please help me!"

She yelled but all she could see was concrete, the empty teacher's carpark, the sports ground and countless trees among other things.

She waited a few more seconds before she called out again but alas it was futile.

She was stranded but at the same time she wondered what was up with the puppy.

Nonetheless, she removed her blazer and tied it around her waist so it sat snuggly so when she did actually jump her skirt wouldn't go skyward.

Afterwards, she perched herself on the sill of the window then she shut her eyes tightly and took in a few deep breaths in and out to get her adrenaline pumped for the great feat she was about to experience.

She was scared but she still felt that she needed to go through with it, unless she wanted to spend the night here and have her classmates wake her up in the morning.

She took a few more breaths in and out before something interrupted her.

"Yah!"

A sudden voice called from below which made her shoot her eyes wide open.

"What are you doing Sooyeong!? Are you crazy?"

The voice called again.

She searched in the direction which it had come from and finally her eyes landed on the one person she should now probably be staying away from thanks to Nayeon.

It was Taehyung.

Somehow it just had to be him.

Fate really was playing games with her. Somehow it really didn't want Taehyung to be in her life but at the same time it wanted him there.

If she could take fate by the neck, she would strangle it and leave it gasping for air.

She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat as she thought of an excuse meanwhile Taehyung ran to stand directly below the window.

"I fell asleep while doing my homework!" She nervously shot then gave him a smile to better sell the lie. "Phone's flat too..." she added for extra measure.

He raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you serious right now?" He hollered back while looking up at her, in pure panic and disbelief. "And were you really going to jump? Do you know how dangerous that is?"

"I know... And I'm scared!" She answered and her hands were still gripped on to the sill. "And I was going to try and land on my backpack!"

"Insanity is not a good look for you Soo ah! You'd still get hurt!" Taehyung scolded and abruptly removed his own backpack from his shoulders. "Instead of your backpack land on me! I'll catch you. I promise."

"But..."

"I'll catch you no matter what. I promise." He sternly repeated and those words sunk into her brain almost in a slow motion cut.

"Y-You promise?" She asked, all the while the fear had built up within her because she had stalled for too long.

"Yes, I promise." He stated and stretched out his long arms in an upward direction.

She scanned his features and he seemed absolutely serious about his offer but through that seriousness she saw the sincerity in him, just like Eunwoo, when he had helped her out previously.

In her mind and heart she felt she could trust him.

"Okay..." She shakily said and bit on her bottom lip, nervously. "I'm going to jump on three."

Taehyung nodded and prepared himself to catch her.

"One..." She started.

"Two..."

"..."

"Three..." She leaned forward but immediately seized.

"I can't do it Tae ah!"

"Sooyeong ah! I'm here. I promise! Just let go." He reassured her while he clapped his hands together then then he outstretched them again.

"Okay..."

"For real this time yah?"

She nodded then took a breath in. She filled her lungs to its total lung capacity as well as her tensed body with the icy cold air before she suddenly, without any further thought, thrusted herself off the sill.

She screamed in fear as she fell and the air beneath her was so very apparent but she shut her eyes, and allowed gravity do its thing while she waited for Taehyung's secure arms to catch her - notifying her that she was safe and sound, and still breathing.

Literally a second later she hit something and she gasped as both she and what she presumed to be Taehyung fell backwards onto the ground. She held onto him tightly with her eyes still shut, not yet daring enough to open it up.

She heard a soft moan leave his lips but despite that she felt his arms snake around her body and he held onto her tighter than ever before.

They both just stayed flat on the ground one on top of the other - bodies flushed and stuck together - while they tried to absorb the impact of the fall as well as the situation at hand.

It took moments before Taehyung spoke up.

"Did you get hurt anywhere?" Taehyung's deep voice struck her ear and she shook her head, indicating a no, as she looked up at him.

"No. Did you? And I'm so sorry." Her eyes frantically looked over his rather relieved features before she tried bowing with her head only.

He chuckled at the sight, "I'm fine but what's more important is that you are."

She smiled softly at him, "Thank you."

His arms loosened from around her body and that was her ticket to realisation at their position. So she quickly got off him with a blush that stained her cheeks and she sat beside him on the concrete.

He sat up shortly after, slightly flustered himself at their contact and he ruffled his hair shyly.

"Please don't fall asleep in class again Sooyeong." He chuckled softly and finally made eye contact with her.

She only sheepishly smiled back at him but his eyes faltered from her features and over to the exposed area of skin near her neck, specifically below her jugular notch.

"What happened here?"

His deep voice articulated then his hand suddenly rose up to push aside some of her clothing only to reveal the reddened bloodstained scrapes over her skin.

A U T H O R ' S N O T E

I wish I could fall into Taehyung's arms too. Oof.

Anyway, I passed my practical test that I performed today and I feel so relieved!

Also, what do you guys think Sooyeong is going to tell Taehyung?
