Taehyung went to work with the intention to avoid Jeongguk at all costs. Even when it came to passing by the youngers dressing room.
Taehyung would make a bolt for it, taking extremes measures just to make sure they wouldn't cross paths.
He wasn't ready to face Jeongguk so early in the morning. Knowing that it's virtually impossible, to ignore the man all day.
In Taehyung's own dressing room, they were finished with costume changes, leaving hair and makeup left.
His shoulders hung high and close to his body thinking about how his first encounter of the day with Jeongguk would be like.
Unlike his normal relaxed facade, today was different from any other. It was because of the causes for yesterday's event that made it different.
Instead of him being the victim, he was the criminal being caught red handed in his acts. Just as arrogant as a criminal, he thought he could get away.
The reality of this world never was in Taehyung's favour, at least not recently.
"Mr.Kim are you alright?" The makeup artist asked anxiously.
"You're creasing the foundation."
He didn't even realize that when he closed his eyes, he scrunched his face together when he was in thought.
"Oh sorry." He apologized.
Keeping his face still, the makeup artist did her thing and every once and awhile she would yawn.
This was getting Taehyung's attention because it started to happen constantly as she took a second to do the humanly thing. She realized that Taehyung would just look at her every time she yawned.
What else could he do.
It was like being strapped on a chair not being able to move until the coast is clear. The signal being, when one of the crew members tell him their done with him.
"Sorry, I haven't been able to get my coffee in the morning." She justifies herself.
"I can understand."
He really did. He was able to make connections of times where he was to busy to even get something as essential as coffee.
Without coffee, is like a car without any gas, it just doesn't function.
He couldn't function without a warm cup of coffee in the morning. It was his source of life, coffee was that important to him.
He normally liked his coffee with one milk and one sugar. On days he knew he needed the energy, he'd get a dark roast coffee. Although he likes his coffee to be more on the sweeter side, black coffee always gave him the extra punch.
He had another sleepless night today. He kept waking up randomly in the middle of the night, his body refused to let him have solid sleep without interruptions.
So in the morning, very early morning, he woke up just as the sun was starting to rise. After the third interruption in his sleep, he decided that he'd just stay up.
Ever since that he started filming he's neglected his morning runs, it was therapeutic for him but with the busy schedule and incorporating enough sleep, made it hard for him to make time.
So today, he had more than enough time to go for that run and when was done, took a shower and got ready for filming.
Drinking a dark roast coffee because today, was just one of those days.
The lady nearly finished his makeup, as another lady also did his hair. Making his hair wavy, neat and in place with some hair spray.
One of the floor directors knocked on the door and on cue, Taehyung stood up and went out the door without him having to say a word.
When walking out of the dressing room, Taehyung went to follow the crew member. Staring at the man's back while they were walking, Taehyung was swivelling between the ocean of workers. They were starting really soon and people needed to make there way to their places.
Taehyung slipped and fell onto the ground when he felt nudged in the shoulder hard. Landing on his hands, Taehyung looked up and saw the culprit.
"Tch." Jeongguk scoffs when he saw Taehyung helplessly on the floor. Jeongguk took his hands out of his pockets and held his hand out. Taehyung was going to grab on, but Jeongguk took his hand back looking at it. Shoving it back into his pockets he walked away from Taehyung.
He sat there on the floor and his blood boiled in his veins.
With the click of heels behind him, he turned his head and saw a pair of pale pink pumps. Looking up, it was Sohyun. "What was that?" She tilted her head and looked forwards to the male who was walking onto the next set.
"Him being a dick, nothing different." He got up on both feet, wiping the dusk and dirt off of his black pants.
"You alright?" She asked taking his hand looking at how the palm of his hand was red.
"Yeah I'll be fine." He took his hand back, "let's go on set now." He said rubbing his hands together.
If Jeongguk was going to act as childish as that because of yesterday. Then so be it. He didn't expect to have some dandy conversation as if everything was normal anyways.
Today's shoot was just perfect. All his pent up anger and frustration could have not come at a better time. Supposedly his character and Jeongguk's get into a fight, and Taehyung gets to get the first hit on Jeongguk.
Although, you're not actually hitting them, his feelings as they are now will make the performance more authentic.
When Taehyung went to throw another fake punch at Jeongguk, he didn't move at the right time and Taehyung's fist actually grazed Jeongguk's face. "You insane?"
Taehyung being frantic flitted his eyes between Jeongguk and the director so he called "cut". With the fake blood near Jeongguk's lip he didn't know the difference between real blood and the fake. If there was any real blood in the first place.
"He actually hit me!" Jeongguk held onto the pained area.
In a situation like this, Taehyung wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. He didn't mean it, and clearly it wasn't his fault. Something didn't seem right. "Taehyung you understand you don't actually hit him right?" His boss told him.
"M'sorry sir." He held his head low with his arms stationary by his sides. "I'm not the one you hit." He said through the speakerphone.
Taehyung looked up and saw Jeongguk touching the bloody part of his mouth, and Taehyung could swear that a small smile crept on his face when Taehyung said, "sorry."
So after that, they continued to film. After that whole scene, Taehyung was uncomfortable filming the rest of the day. He made the most mess ups, and apologized multiple times to everyone.
Just when the director had enough, he called for a break.
Taehyung shakily walked off the stage and accepted a water bottle from one of the staff. "Hey, what's going on with you today?" So Hyun put her hand on his shoulder.
"Ugh, it's nothing... Today's just not my day clearly." He scratched at his ear.
"It's has something to do with Jeongguk right?"
"What! No? What makes you say that." He shrugged his shoulder and took another sip of his water.
Sohyun crossed her arms and raised a brow, "I'm not buying it."
"It's just hard being around him." He confessed.
Sohyun hummed.
"Can we not talk about him? I see him enough as it is." Taehyung said with a weak laugh.
Sohyun brought up another topic, talking about how she just wanted to go home and see her dog. Showing Taehyung pictures that were on her phone.
After the bit of free time, they went back to filming.
Thankfully, the rest of the day Taehyung's shoots were just with Sohyun and there was none left with Jeongguk. His last scene for the day was in Sohyun's character's bedroom, she invited him over to watch a movie.
But what Taehyung's character doesn't expect is the confession that she was seeing Jeongguk's.
Taehyung's character had hidden feelings for their best friend and never acted upon them to keep the friendship. So the scene consisted of him wallowing in a bag of chips as they watched a movie. That scene wasn't hard to shoot, and was fun for Taehyung because he only had to eat.
"Cut!"
"That's a wrap."
That concluded the end of filming, which today ended mid day.
Taehyung was packing his belongings and ready to head back home, when on the intercom went off.
"Kim Taehyung please report to the directors office." The scratchy voice buzzed.
Taehyung sighed and tossed his things to the corner of his dressing room. "What is it now?" He muttered to himself before making his way to the office.
He remembered where it was from last time, coming across the same door and he opened it by the handle. Closing the door behind him, he sat in the exact seat he sat in last time.
Because Jeongguk sat at the exact same spot he sat last time too.
If the mahogany desk was any closer, Taehyung could of sworn his head would be banging on it.
He felt like a delinquent in detention, what was this? High school? Taehyung scratched at the edge of his nose just looking at his boss.
The man had sighed before looking at the two males that sat in front of him. "Well,"
Taehyung looked over to Jeongguk and he was once again, looking only at the director so he did the same.
"It's seems to me we are going to have a problem." His voice was deep, still holding authoritative power.
"Sir I-" Taehyung began,
"Enough, I will not tolerate any more excuses." He hushed Taehyung.
"It seems that you don't understand the importance of chemistry. Whether that is as enemies or friends." He pulled out a drawer compartment of his desk and pulled out two pamphlets. Tossing them onto the desk.
Taehyung picked one up, "What is this sir?" He started to read the title and that's when he realized.
"It's a team building retreat. I figured you two should be given notice first." He sat back in his chair with his arms crossed in front of him.
Jeongguk finally went to grab the pamphlet but didn't bother to open it. "Is that all sir?" He asked having the piece of paper on his lap.
"Yes, that is all."
Jeongguk sat up from his seat and bowed to the director before exiting the room. Taehyung sat in the chair turning his head, watching as Jeongguk walked out the door. Then to the director who stayed put on his chair.
"That means you can leave too."
"Oh!" Taehyung got up doing the same thing Jeongguk did and walked out of the room.
The door clicked when he left and he felt like his heart was racing. He was so nervous, but that seemed like a normal thing when being called down by your boss.
He took another look to the pamphlet that was in his hand.
"This seems stupid." He murmured to himself.
He looked back up and saw Jeongguk off in the distance and decided to jog up to him. "Jeon!"
The said male turned around and placed a hand on his hip. "What do you want." He deadpanned.
"Ugh, I wanted to ask if you're okay? Did I actually hit you earlier?" Taehyung was genuinely concerned, even if Jeongguk was a pain in the ass.
"Tch." he laughed "Yeah, I'm fine." Jeongguk continued walking and Taehyung was following alongside him.
Taehyung was drawn towards Jeongguk without even realizing it. Following him anywhere as he kept the conversation going. "You think he did this cause of us?"
Jeongguk stopped where he was and looked into Taehyung's chocolate brown eyes. "Doesn't matter."
Taehyung caught on very quickly Jeongguk's short comings with him. But continue to pester on, "about yesterday-"
"Will you please stop following me like some lost dog!" Jeongguk cracked having enough of Taehyung's persistent questioning.
Taehyung's mood changed from being playful to becoming serious and crossed his arms in front of his chest. When Taehyung was being friendly and civil, Jeongguk lashed out on him.
"M'fault, I won't bother you then." Taehyung walked ahead of Jeongguk with his hands in his pockets.
Taehyung wasn't thinking much of his actions. The last thing he wanted to tell Jeongguk was that yesterday was a mistake.
Sure, that was what he was going to say. But he wasn't going to mean it. Even though Jeongguk continues to play the role of an asshole while they are at work, he knows there is another side to him that other people don't get the chance to see.
The real Jeongguk. You're lucky to catch him at moments he'll slip. Like when he went to help the film team during break. But he always goes back to character.
The man was truly incredible, kudos to him. But with the memory when he was in his drossy state, he remembers vulnerable information Jeongguk let seep through. His romantic attraction to people. Or lack there of.
Deep inside of Taehyung, he held the greed for his attention, for Jeongguk to see him as something more.
But of course, Taehyung himself had no intentions for falling for Mr.Jeon.
He simply, wanted to lure Jeongguk with his seduction. Which he lacks experience in, but he was willing to try for Jeongguk to have a change of heart.
He swears to himself, he's not going to involve his real feelings.
What's the harm in trying to make someone fall in love with you, and not put your feelings in too?
Call him whatever it is, but Taehyung wrapped his head around the thought of alluring Jeongguk with his temptations.
Jeongguk had plans of his own he had set in motion. His intentions for Taehyung isn't as friendly.
He made it pretty clear when he made the big scene over Taehyung hitting him, that he wanted Taehyung gone.
He wanted him fired.
After their multiple discreditable accounts, he no longer wanted to work alongside Taehyung. It just couldn't work.
Taehyung had too much involvement with him, he was getting to close for comfort. After their first kiss, he thought it would be done and over. But clearly, wasn't the case.
Taehyung acted on some sort of impulse, and created another scandalous act that wasn't as public as the first.
But even so, he knew their working relationship would not be able to continue with peace.
So knowing his place and hierarchy in the movie industry, he was so sure they would do anything to please him.
He thought it would be simple. Jeongguk would cause a scene in which Taehyung is found at fault bad enough to get him fired.
What Jeongguk didn't know was that the director would try to salvage their relationship.
For what was to come of the team building retreat, would come out with perplexing results.
