Ayato stood there, still looking at Kaneki. He watched as a small blush appeared across the older ghoul's cheeks. He soon realized his own cheeks were getting warm, but decided to not turn away.

Seeing Ayato stand his ground, even after noticing the growing blush on his own face, Kaneki looked away for moment to take deep breath before returning his gaze.

"To tell you the truth," he started. "I've been kind of watching you as well."

"Wha-! Really?" This caught Ayato completely off guard. Kaneki nodded.

"At first it was so I could learn to work with you better, but then," the white-haired ghoul paused. "I... I guess I just started to realize how good-looking you were and I..." Kaneki averted his eyes. "I just didn't want to stop watching." He heard Ayato walk over and, next thing he knew, lips were pressed against his cheek. After they pulled away, he turned to face the younger ghoul.

"If I'm that handsome," Ayato replied with a look that made Kaneki turn red. "I don't mind you watching me. Even if I learn to notice it." Kaneki blinked a couple times and smiled back at him.

"Well," he started as his hands found Ayato's. "I could teach you if you want." Ayato leaned in closer to his face.

"I'd love that," he replied before planting a kiss on the other male's lips. Kaneki returned the kiss and intertwined his fingers with Ayato's. Neither pulled away until Ayato felt something rub against his leg.

"What the-" Looking down, he sees perhaps the biggest red-headed centipede he's ever seen. Ayato jumps back, absolutely terrified. "What the hell is that?" Kaneki looks down at the centipede and his face lights up.

"Kade!" He exclaims as he picks up the centipede. "There you are. You done exploring?" As if it understood him, the centipede nodded and crawled up onto his shoulders.

"Kaneki?" Ayato spoke up from across the room. "Mind explaining what exactly is happening here?"

"Oh, right," Kaneki rubbed the back of his head. "I forgot you're scared of insects."

"I'm not scared!" Ayato retorted, but flinched back when Kaneki walked over with Kade.

"This is Kade," he introduced. "I found him at the old building where you guys kidnapped me to." Ayato lowered his guard. He knew the whole incident with Jason was a touchy subject for the newest member.

"He didn't seem to have anywhere to go, and all the other bugs were avoiding him," Kaneki rubbed the centipede's cheek with his finger. "So, I decided to keep him and bring him with me. I guess he reminded me of myself a bit." Seeing how much the larger bug meant to Kaneki, Ayato hesitantly reached his hand out to pet it.

"M-may I?" he stuttered. Kaneki nodded, a smile forming on his face. He showed Ayato how to hold out his hand to show Kade that he meant no harm. Still slightly shaking, Ayato brought his hand up to the centipede. After inspecting his hand, Kade pushed his head against the younger ghoul's hand.

Ignoring his instinct to pull away, Ayato allowed Kade to crawl up onto his arm. The centipede looked up at him and he could have sworn he saw it smile at him. Glancing up at Kaneki, he saw a huge smile stretched across the ghoul's face. Ayato smiled and looked back at Kade; bringing his other hand up to rub the centipede's cheek.

(A/N: Finally, this chapter is done! I didn't know how to continue for the longest while. It wasn't until I decided to have Kaneki introduce Kade to Ayato that I got an idea.)
