This is a warning chapter, an explanation of the term "Dead Dove: Do Not Eat," and why I decided to write something like this.

WARNING

This is not my typical fic where it's romance, faling in love, and a happy ending with some angst and obstacles thrown in the middle. This is a compilation of oneshots from many fandoms that will be not-so-sweet and problematic. Please heed the warnings, and read at your own discretion.

I will be following the Wattpad Content Guidelines, and therefore, there will not be any sexual content in the more extreme chapters (or really at all). The story has been rated mature as another warning that these stories are not for the people looking for wholesome fluff.

Dead Dove: Do Not Eat

The term "Dead Dove: Do Not Eat" was coined by a user on tumblr (mostlyvalid) and is widely used on AO3. It's based off Arrested Development, clip attached (7 seconds).

What it means is that there will be no lies in the warnings, a "what it says on the tin." As explained by mostlyvalid, it says, "You see the tropes and concepts tagged here? They are going to appear in this fic. Exactly as said. There will not necessarily be any subversion, authorial commentary condemning problematic aspects, or meditation on potential harm. This fic contains a dead dove. If you proceed, you should expect to encounter it."

Unlike AO3, I don't have a tag system that everyone looks at. Wattpad users rarely look through all the tags. So, instead, I'm going to put a warning at the beginning of each part that will say what the "dead dove" is in that part. It will look like "DD: [warnings here]."

Realize that some chapters will be worse than others. Some are jam-packed with problematic tropes, some are light, some have worse tropes than others. That's why the warnings are there.

Why I Want to Write These

If you don't care about why, you can just go ahead and start reading.

I always have ideas for stories that don't have good endings or good characters, gaining inspirations from songs, games, or specific TV episodes. However, I never wanted to make them into a fully-fledged story. I also want to try something different from my other stories on here, but I felt like posting a few strange one-shots would take up too much space on my page. I don't need 20 different stories on my page because I write a one-shot every time I get an idea.

So, that's why this story will exist. I don't think it will ever be "completed," and I have no idea how many parts it's going to have. We'll see as we go along.
